  2. With Torres injured and will not be fit until January 2009..... will Liverpool able to maintain the lead on the table ...... Had a bad feeling about this match ....... , against West Ham at home can draw 0 - 0 ........ Looking at the weekends fixtures, ManU, Chelsea and Arsenal are having easy games ..... Weekends fixtures Tomorrow (6/11/08) got 7 matches Fulham v Manchester City Hull City v Middlesbrough Arsenal v Wigan Athletic Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool Everton v Aston Villa Bolton Wanderers v Chelsea Manchester United v Sunderland Sunday (7/11/08) West Bromwich Albion v Portsmouth Newcastle United v Stoke City ESPN Soccernt reports : Allardyce keen on Sunderland job Sam Allardyce has declared his interest in the Sunderland job after Roy Keane quit the club on Thursday. Allardyce has already been installed as the bookmakers' favourite for the Stadium of Light post, even though such a switch would make him the first man to manage both Newcastle and Sunderland.
  3. any bros can advice how to watch LFC live game against pompey thru internet? Obviously tat SH is not broadcasting live
  4. tonight 745pm Prediction: 2-2 Scorers: Cahill, Yakubu, Torres, Gerrard
  5. The latest ruling from European soccer body had hit Liverpool hard and RB is grumbling now....... Quote from ESPN Soccernet report : Benitez brands UEFA's home-grown rule a 'mistake' Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has laid the blame firmly at UEFA's door for forcing him to leave Sami Hyypia out of his Champions League squad. New rules brought into force this season state that each club must name at least eight home-grown players in their 25-man squad for the competition and the Finland international was left out to accommodate one such place. At least four players much be produced from a club's own Academy with the other places made up of players who have come through the youth system of other English clubs. Liverpool only have Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher as first team members from their own Academy which meant they were forced to add Jay Spearing and Stephen Darby to their 'A' squad. Robbie Keane and Jermaine Pennant filled the second criteria but again they were forced to delve deeper within the club to make up the eight, Steven Irwin and Martin Kelly the players being named. Now Benitez has hit back at UEFA for forcing him to name a weaker squad than is actually available to him. However, the rule was intended to encourage clubs to look to the home transfer market rather than flood a club with foreign imports and if this is the effect it may just have the desired results. Benitez told the club's official website: "Clearly I think it is a mistake. When you play in the Champions League, you need the best players you have on the pitch. It is not about where you are from, it is about the best players. "I would understand if this rule came in for the Premier League, but not for the Champions League. So too, this rules will also affect Arsenal & Chelsea where 80% are foreign players. ManU will be laughing as they have the most home-grown player in ther reserve squad....
  6. Which will be your greatest hope or i can say achivements for liv this season?WINNing the League ?winning CL ?Dubai Group take over ? for me it will be beating MU home and away .When was the last time we beat them ?lets pray 4 this 13th Sept .
  7. Watch last night match between Liverpool and Villa and was very impressed with these younster, 19 yrs old David Ngog who was signed from Paris St Germain earlier in the summer..... It was because of injury to Fernando Torres in the 27 minutes that give this youngster a chance for him to display his skill. Another (David Ngog) Ronaldo in making ....... A disappointment signing is Robbie Keane who was no where supporting his fellow colleagues.... , make only one move for Ngog to strike but was turned away for a corner.
  8. Read today New Paper and was surprised that Spain forward, David Villa is eyeing to come to Liverpool this summer to be with Torres...... But he won't come cheap and Valencia is asking for 30 million Pound..... His first choice is to go to Asernal but since Fabercas haven't confirm staying at Asernal, he choose Liverpool. If Villa did comes to Liverpool, then the strike force of Liverpool is greatly improve to fight for the League Champion. Ole..... to Liverpool Fans
  9. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/jun/10/liverpool Que sera, sera.....
  10. For all Liverpool fans here....... Rafael Benitez has make his first move............. Read from ESPN Soccernet - Quote : Reds confirm signing of Swiss defender Degen Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has begun his summer overhaul of the Reds' underperforming squad by bringing in Switzerland right-back Philipp Degen on a free transfer. The 25-year-old will leave Borussia Dortmund for Anfield on July 1 when his contract with the Bundesliga club expires. The former Basel defender will vie with Alvaro Arbeloa and Steve Finnan for the right-back berth after he returns from Euro 2008.
  11. As usual, got to look forward for next season .everytime the starts of the season looks promising, but come to mid ,everything goes down. lets see any players worth staying and which new players to get for RB.by the way,sad to say, riise got to go.....
  12. ESPN reports - "Liverpool and Chelsea go head-to-head in the Champions League semi-finals yet again after a tumultuous game at Anfield." Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez hailed the character and belief of his side as they stormed into the European Cup semi-finals for the ninth time in their history. The amazing 4-2 quarter-final second leg victory over Arsenal, for a 5-3 aggregate win, meant Benitez had emerged triumphant and unbeaten from three clashes with the north Londoners in a week. Benitez said: 'Now we have Chelsea again in the semi-final. Again it will be a very, very tough game against an excellent side. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger considered the penalty that swung the game late on was 'dodgy' and his side had been the victim of bad decisions in both legs. Wenger said: 'I felt at that stage the game was over at 2-2. Then there was a dodgy penalty and we started to lose concentration. 'Over the two games this is hard to swallow. The big decisions over penalties in both matches have gone against us. 'It is difficult to take, the players in the dressing room are very down because they believe week after week the decisions are going against them. 'It was not a penalty tonight, I have seen the replay. But we were denied a clear penalty last week. That was a real penalty, this one wasn't. Said what you like Wenger...... It's LIVERPOOL vs CHELSEA way to got LIVERPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.....................
  13. Finally, part 1 of the mouth watering Arsenal - Liverpool match is tonight. Arsenal vs Liverpool @ Emirates for UCL QFinal 1st leg. 0245hrs. Btw, last night. Man Utd won 2-0 against Roma away and Barca won 1-0 against Schalke 04 away.
  14. Liverpool Football Club - What a roller coaster ride this season. One moment, they could lose to Barnsley and next moment, the can beat one of the European best, Inter Milan..... As reported at ESPN Soccernet: Hounded and hammered from all quarters after three months of shocking form, Liverpool grabbed two goals in the final five minutes in the first leg of their last 16 tie against Inter Milan. They inflicted only the second defeat of the season on the Serie A leaders, with late goals from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard. It was the slice of fortune Liverpool, a side who have struggled to beat pub teams of late, desperately needed. They dominated from then on and produced a victory that will also lift the intense pressure on boss Rafael Benitez. Liverpool will go to the San Siro on March 11 with genuine hope that they can reach their 12th European Cup quarter-finals. Inter, 11 points clear at the top of Serie A, were at their strongest. A side with seven South Americans and only one Italian, former Everton centre-back Materazzi. Liverpool made five changes from the one humbled by Barnsley in the FA Cup on Saturday, with all the big names - Gerrard, Fernando Torres, Jose Reina and Javier Mascherano - returning. But they faced a massive task, the Italian club had lost only one game in 33 all season to Fenerbahce in the Champions League group stages. Three defeats in their previous 45 away games in all competitions told its own story. England boss Fabio Capello was here to witness a side of true class, on current form one of the best in the world, while Liverpool were coming off the back of their worst defeat of the campaign. The Kop were at full throttle as the teams appeared, full of faith if not total belief that Liverpool could match the Nerazzurri, who are heading for their third title on the trot. But the use of Gerrard in support of Torres, with Kuyt wide, gave the Anfield skipper the platform for one of those memorable performances. No more hope in winning the league title, out of League Cup, out of FA cup and this is the only hope left for them.
  15. Today ST reported that American owners are in hot soup for 350 million pound dept after taking over Liverpool Football Club and building a new stadium. A takeover bit by a Dubai group is seem possible. Further to that RB is also in the hot soup of getting the sack after poor showing in the weekend match with Boro which further the distance them away from winning the EPL title including the draw with Wigan & Luton Town (FA Cup). Its either the Americans or the Dubai group that could give RB the sack and JM could get the job as reported in some British press. quote: "Reports over the past few weeks have suggested Mourinho is interested in taking over from under-fire Rafael Benitez at Liverpool should the Spaniard get the sack." Down with the Rafalution policies.....
  16. Liverpool will be facing Marseille early next morning (Wed. 3.30am). A win will see Liverpool going to the next stage but a draw or loose , bye bye Liverpool in CL but also Rafa job as manager of Liverpool. As reported in ESPN Soccernet : "Torres: Don't sack Rafa" "Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has reiterated his support for manager Rafael Benitez and claims it would be a 'mistake' for the club to replace him. Benitez's future remains uncertain despite an apparent thaw in his relationship with owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks following a disagreement over transfer policy. The Reds are under pressure to deliver as they face a crucial Champions League clash at Marseille tomorrow night. Failure to win could cost Liverpool a place in the knockout stages and consequently affect the January transfer budget, a situation which would increase speculation over Benitez's position." Rafa Benitez's job is on the rock............ Liverpool has to win and this could be an exciting match too good to be missed.
  17. Ha...ha...ha..., even before the highly charged match, Liverpool are already nervous about this Sunday match against their bitter rival - Arsenal. Their goalkeeper (Reds) Jose Reina spoke before the match aganist the Gunners. Sign of trouble ahead. As reported in ESPN Soccernet:- "Jose Reina insists Liverpool must use Sunday's tough clash with Arsenal to get their act together in time for a late charge in Europe. Liverpool are facing the prospect of not qualifying from the Champions League group stages following their disastrous defeat by Besiktas on Wednesday. Now they face leaders Arsenal at Anfield in a clash of the Premier League's only remaining unbeaten clubs. Spanish goalkeeper Reina said: 'We believed we played a good game in Istanbul, to be honest, we were just very unlucky in front of goal. 'But it is not good at all, that is clear. We must keep going and try to improve. 'We must now concentrate on a very important game against Arsenal. We can put things right if we can beat them.'" So............. let me starts the ball rolling. Will Liverpool beat against Arsenal ? Although I am a Liverpool supporter, I am afraid that tomorrow clash would be Liverpool 1st lost of the season. . Today The New Paper (page 70) stated that "At Anfield, Reds are bulletproof" but Gunners are using cannon............
  18. Sami Hyypia scores again but for the wrong side. As reported at ESPN Soccernet : In the city that saw Liverpool's greatest triumph of modern times, their involvement in this season's Champions League was all but ended. Liverpool were behind early on to a Serdar Ozkan effort which deflected in off central defender Sami Hyypia. And from then on the Anfield men toiled and laboured in an increasingly desperate attempt to avoid a humiliating defeat. Liverpool's obvious need to win this clash was underlined by the inclusion of two wingers - Ryan Babel and Jermaine Pennant - in Rafael Benitez's starting line-up. There were just two changes from the side that won at Everton on Saturday, Gerrard was back in the centre of midfield, with Mohamed Sissoko and Yossi Benayoun left out. Although in control 0f 64% possession, Liverpool can kiss goodbye to Champ League soccer. For sure, I will not loose my sleep over this Sunday match against Arsenal.
  19. Hi to all liverpool fans. Just read ESPN Soccernet new updates and that the Rafalution theory of rotation is still fresh in his mind. Quote: "Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez insists he is far from certain he will pick striker Fernando Torres for Saturday's Premier League clash with Wigan despite the Spaniard's midweek hat-trick in the Carling Cup. Benitez says the need to protect star players such as Torres outweighs the desire to play him in every match, particularly when he has so many quality alternatives at his disposal. Benitez said: 'I don't know if Torres will start against Wigan. It is a good story for the newspapers and the television but I need to decide because I know my players and watch every training session. 'We signed Torres because we knew about his quality and we bought Kuyt and Voronin and Crouch. Everybody is talking about Torres because he scored three goals but as a manager you have to make the decisions." Oh no, not again but this time, I still go for 0-1, Liverpool win. Mind you, its an away match to Wigan. Cheers.
  20. Let me start by giving my prediction for tomorrow away match against Portsmouth. Portsmouth 1 - Liverpool 3 Cheers.
