  4. Unit at Hougang Green hits $809 psf 11 April 2011 ChannelNewsAsia Homes in suburbs such as Simei and Buangkok are enjoying a resurgence of interest owing to their affordability and accessibility as new malls and MRT lines are built. The appreciation in the prices of such property is prompting some homeowners to cash out at a profit. In Buangkok, prices at the 99-year leasehold Hougang Green recently hit a peak of $837 psf in February when a 764 sq ft unit on the 10th floor was sold for $640,000. This comes after the launch of a new executive condominium development a few streets away
  5. If you think just b/c you write for a car magazine, you are a real auto journalist - WRONG - Sorry - no one in Singapore makes the cut for putting out real opinions on cars that are of any real use to the general reading population. And since we are on the topic of "Dismal Automotive Writing Skills" - Please stop writing articles that basically rehash the spec sheets or the brochure copy ( WE CAN READ THE BROCHURE THANK YOU.) - and if you got nothing negative to say - don't write. No car is perfect - or near it. No point bitching about a car privately to your friends and then writing only nice things in a commercial article - USELESS. All of you. If you need guidance on how to write - Get some balls and read the typical article below. BMW X1 sDrive20d SE Jeremy Clarkson I like the BMW 135i very much. It has no styling and no big USP. It
  6. Let's look around and read some posts... especially those posts which 'discreetly' 'leaks' info on the wealth of the posters.......... Not to worry, it's safe place here coz no kidnapper really surfs forums to check out who their next target should be......... but things may change.... so we must help these bros keep a low profile to prevent ransoms being paid unnecessarily......... Any nomination for the list of 'protected species'.???.............

  11. Maybe this is touchy topic. Do you feel it is weird to install body kit, grille or spoiler that is meant for another make of car or zhng a car to have features signature to other cars? Some examples I have seen include~ *Non-Imprezzas with that "fish tail" spoiler *Sedans with front grille outlined in red like GTI *Paste a black sticker on the front bumper to look like Audi I know it is their car and their money but can I say it looks strange and sometimes even poser?
  12. Hi all, I was having my dinner one night and this Toyota altis (goldish or silver, can't remember partly due to poor lighting) swerved and knocked my driver-side bumper and scratched the paint. The culprit came down, apologised and told me to repair and send bill to him. We exchanged contact numbers and I told him I will not anyhow kertuk him. Because of his demeanour (apologetic, soft-spoken), I thought he was equally gentleman. Hence I did not report to my insurance (mistake!!!). Anyhow, the repair bill is small (less than $200), but his attitude sucks! Now more than two months already, he shut off his phone, refused to pick up my calls or message. His details are: Toyota Altis SFZ 338T A certain

  15. My stock set of Yokohama tyres are running bald and i am considering a few sets of tyres to change to. Just wanted to get some generic feedback about what drivers look out for when they buy new tyres? Price, comfort, noise level, wet performance, durability etc.? Also, do men and women look out for different things when buying tyres? Just a thought.

  20. I am currently in Hong Kong for business. After I got here shortly, it began raining cats and dogs continuously for like a day and a half (and still is). I was told this was because of Typhoon Fanapi, which if you have read the news, has caused a national disaster in Taiwan. The part of Hong Kong which I lived in was quite an old town, with old drains choked with refuse and most of the time you can smell the whiffs of stench from the drains. Judging from my experience in Singapore, I tot to myself 'Ji Bai Xiao Liao..rains so heavy..drains so choked and the buildings and infrastructure look pre-historic. Sure flood like mad tomorrow when I wake up..what if cannot report for work how...' Sure enough the typhoon rains smacked Hong Kong through the night with howling winds and deluge of rains as it makes its way to China. If you have been to HK you will see that much of HK is hilly and many Hong Kongers stay on the coast side of the island, thus they are most extremely susceptible to flooding than compared to living on mountainsides. However the next morning I woke up to a pleasant surpise, despite the typhoon, the roads were water free and NO FLOODS! Despite a Cat3 typhoon cyclone! I remember in Singapore just after 3 hrs of rains we get ponding easily..so what is it we miss out here? HK with old choked drains was able to survive a cyclone with little flooding and I see people get on with their lives as though noghting happened..perhaps PUB can study from our old friend and competitor the secret to their water control success?? Btw it is still raining heavily as I write this topic.
