I'm just typing out my thoughts here. You guys can comment on it. Criticisms are welcome. The two of have ~400K cash + CPF. My parents are ok to help us out a bit, but I'd much rather not involve them..... Budget is .....1.2-1.5 million. 1.5 is pushing it a bit. 1.2-1.3 is quite comfortable. The private market is going down now (finally), so I definitely won't commit within the next, say, 3 months. Most likely end of this year or beginning of next. This will be purely for investment. I'm hoping to buy a freehold so there's no depreciation of property value in the long run. After looking at the different region, it seems that central region still has the biggest grow potential. Another ~7.8 sqkm of commercial space, compared to 15 sqkm currently. That's >50% of growth. In comparison, all the others will have 150-200k more sqkm. Only west side has 750k sqkm more planned. But then, this is all 2008 master plan..... http://www.ura.gov.sg/MP2008/central_page4.htm . Central area also has lots of growth, but the units there are too expensive for us. So, with this central region as focus, I'm thinking east coast area, along, say, Meyer road or a bit more to the north. There's another MRT being looked at that should be near there. 1 or 2 more expressways that will benefit that area. And then the new gardens that should make the place quite attractive to live at..... So.....what do you guys think of my reasoning?

Usually new model of the same car looks better than the old one, but sometimes this is not always the case. For example, i feel the old Toyota BB looks better than the current one.... (this is a rare model, but i believe some other more common models have the same 'problem') Anyone recalls such cars?

After the itchy thread, was considering getting a Jag. Tested the XJ and XF the day after and left it at that. somehow, the XF overall had an appeal to my liking. With it being a RWD now, I wanted to take the plunge... THEN....... -On the way home, driving out of the MSCP at Lucky Plaza. REalised this JAG was parked vertically across 3 cars. Wondered why(funny algne). Descending further, I realised the TOW TRUCK had come to tow the bugger away!!! SJ* place summore......I thot, ok lah.... - En route from PIE to home, at shoulder, another recovery truck was seein in the distance. I was in Lane 1. Good boy wan... ..passed it and saw an XF with hazards on, about to be towed away!!! this got me thinking.....and yes, no to JAg for now! Prayers answered!!! Call it coincidence or wat, but that was a clear enough sign for me to keep my current car, or get another, but SAME make!

CNA report : Police seeking help over abalone theft SINGAPORE: Police remind retail outlets to be extra vigilant against shop thieves during the festive season, especially when large crowds throng shopping malls and supermarkets for festive goods. They advise that expensive items, such as cans of abalone, should be kept in locked display shelves, which are only accessible by staff and monitored by CCTV cameras. The advice comes as the police look for a woman to assist with investigations into a case of abalone theft from a supermarket in Marine Terrace on January 10. A can of abalone, worth S$52, had gone missing. The woman, who is believed to be in her 40s, was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with a grey and black striped skirt. Hi all, I need to find a metal workshop that can provide me 2 pieces of metal (roughly size of ipad) and trim them into "L" shape for bracket usage on my ride. Also, some holes to be drilled for securing onto the chassic. Plate thickness is less than 10mm. Anyone can recommend such workshop and that do it on the spot ?
