  10. I am looking for some new one to install (wouldn't want to use back the stock one). Is there any decent alarm system for my car? i don't need any fanciful alarm, just central locking will do. My current alarm also has a built-in immobiliser. If it can be removed, it will be great as well. Btw, seen those cool flip key alarms (key together with remote). Is is good?

  17. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1135688/1/.html Lorry driver arrested for trying to bribe traffic cop Posted: 17 June 2011 1428 hrs SINGAPORE: A 26-year-old lorry driver who was booked for inconsiderate driving thought that he could get away by offering a bribe to a traffic police officer. Police said this happened at about 8.40am on Friday. Corporal Mohammed Fadly observed that a lorry driver was weaving in and out of traffic along Ayer Rajah Expressway towards the direction of East Coast Parkway. He stopped the driver and explained to him that he would be booked for inconsiderate driving. Police said the driver pleaded for leniency and asked Corporal Fadly to let him off. At this juncture, the driver allegedly took out two pieces of S$50 notes, offered them to Corporal Fadly and told the officer not to book him. Police said Corporal Fadly seized the two notes as evidence and arrested the driver for bribery. Police are investigating the driver for inconsiderate driving while the charge of bribery has been referred to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau. - CNA/cc

  21. Lorry hit 140kmh trying to beat cops Driver who refused to cooperate in breathalyser test gets jail and fine By Khushwant Singh A LORRY ran a police roadblock, beat a red light and blazed down Jurong Town Hall Road at 140kmh trying to outrun a pursuing police car early on July 6 last year. The driver, Bagavath Singh Jayakkumar, 31, was eventually cornered after the 3km high-speed chase. At the police station later, the Indian national refused to breathe properly into a breathalyser. Yesterday, he was jailed a month for dangerous driving and fined $2,500 for failing to provide a specimen of his breath for the breathalyser test. The court heard that police conducting checks at a roadblock along Jurong Town Hall Road at 1.20am that day had signalled him to stop. But he simply drove through, eventually reaching a speed that was twice the 70kmh allowed on that road, even as a patrol car, siren blaring, stayed on his tail. Jayakkumar was forced to stop at the junction of Boon Lay Way and Jurong East Street 31, as there was no way through the vehicles that were waiting at the red light. Smelling strongly of alcohol and failing the breathalyser test conducted by an officer, he was arrested and escorted to Clementi Police Division for another attempt to measure the alcohol level in his breath. Although he was told repeatedly to take a deep breath and blow hard and continuously into the breathalyser, he blew only gently and intermittently into it in the two attempts he was given, Deputy Public Prosecutor Wong Woon Kwong told the court. No reading could be taken. In addition to his jail term and fine, Jayakkumar was disqualified from driving for 11/2 years. For the dangerous driving offence, he could have been jailed up to two years and/or fined up to $5,000. For failing to breathe properly into the breathalyser, he could have been jailed up to six months or fined up to $5,000.
  22. Was parked along outram road just now to tapao some dinner, got my food and drove straight off. After driving for about a car length, a lorry came from my left suddenly cut into my lane and hit the front left portion of my car. Car damaged from left door edge all across the left fender and bumper chui. By the time lorry stopped it was in a 45 DEG position across my car (infront). Lorry driver claims it my fault as i move off from stationary without looking, he said i should have given way to him. Thing is i was already moving at 15-20kmh when he collided into me, more like he didnt bother checking blind spot. I took full photos of all positions and damages. I also took photo of where i stopped and where the point of impact was. I have a witness who can confirm that the positon of my car after the accident is more then 1 car length away from where i stopped. He saw where i stopped my car but didnt manage to see the accident. Kinda worried now the lorry driver will roti prata, what do u guys think?? My fault???
