  1. Hi peeps..my ride is now in it's 5th yr..will finish paying loan at dec 2009(7th yr).. as my car is reg in 2003, the ARF is 130%..so will be getting quite a lump sum from the gahment when i dereg it. If i sell off this car at it's 7th yr to dealer or what, abit waste, since other than the PARF+COE rebate..can only get additional 5k or so for the body.. So planning to 'export' the vehicle to malaysia for my relatives inside to use as it's still quite new as compared to cars in malaysia.. Would like to find out what are the procedures to deregister the car in SG and register it in Malaysia..do i need to pay any customs duty at the malaysian side? Thanks

  3. Does anyone have any ideas on what forms need to be submitted for running a business? I personally thought that all you had to do was register the company and that was it. Recently, some peeps from some local council at Peataling Jaya asked my staff where a certain license for this and that was? Dunno what it is and didn't know I needed one! Told my staff that there would be a compound fine of RM 350, but they asked for a token sum for their own pockets and would turn a blind eye. I told my staff to take the fine and not to pass any money to them. Any advise anyone?

  8. The phenomenal growth of Malaysia under the leadership of its fourth prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad has brought about a patriotic sense of achievement amongst its people. The Government has led the way to show that Malaysians can excel in whatever they put their minds to, and this, in no small way, has produced a society that tries to outdo itself (sometimes at ridiculous levels, if truth be told) in the endeavours it pursues Embodying this spirit is the slogan "Malaysia Boleh!" which loosely translated means "Malaysia Can Do It!" How this slogan came to be the "battle cry" of a nation is rather sketchy but the general belief is that it was the slogan used by a health beverage in its marketing campaign in the 80s. It caught on and soon cries of Malaysia Boleh! were heard, first only at sporting events like the Commonwealth Games and Thomas Cup Finals, then later everywhere else as it was embraced wholeheartedly by the people as a means to push themselves to endure and accept challenge, to set targets, to excel. The "Malaysia Boleh!" spirit has since produced many achievers and achievements, and has been a cornerstone of the success story that is the new Malaysia.

  21. Sun, Jul 15, 2007 The Straits Times PETALING JAYA - VEHICLES from Singapore and Thailand with heavily tinted windscreens and windows will be turned back at Malaysia's border checkpoints when an amendment to a road transport Act is endorsed soon. Road Transport Department enforcement director Salim Parlan said the cars would not be allowed in if they failed a test at the border. 'Only vehicles with at least 70 per cent level of light penetration in the front windscreen and 50 per cent on the rear windscreen and side windows will be allowed,' he said, but did not indicate when the new law will take effect. There was a controversy in April after several Singapore cars with dark tinted windows were given tickets in Malaysia. The problem boils down to different rules in the two countries on tint levels. Singapore's Land Transport Authority requires 70 per cent of light to be let in through the windscreen and side windows in front, and 25 per cent of the light for the rear windscreen and windows. The Star/Asia News Network When will they ever learn.
