  3. Pardon me a layman[:p] driving auto car few months, feel quite smooth compare to manual car and engine rev seldom over 3k, believe auto system optimize the torque-rev and gear shift at the best point, and I noticed in same travel speed, manual car engine rev normally is a bit higher than auto car, IMO, auto should give satisfactory FC, but almost all articles declare Manual transmission have better FC than Auto transmission, any other reasons

  14. Hi Been to my regular mechanic for few times but still couldn't solve it.....finally says its "older car its likedat one, gotta accept it". Transmission fluid changed, gears lubricated etc problem still comes back. Anyone can recommend a honest mechanic that can service manual transmission? Thanks. PS: The problem is that when I change gear, the gear seems rough when i release as well as enter at gear level, like not well lubricated like dat.
  15. what's the factor to consider between the 2 choices ? i've driven auto since getting my licence (2months ago) and tried manual yesterday and had quite a hectic experience with it. felt auto was very very easy for drivers but are these ppl always looked down ? manual is still in consideration for the price and fuel consumption ..

  17. seeking experiences from those who have gone back to manual... first 8 years driving manual then 8 years driving auto now thinking about going back to manual - can i get back to that "non-thinking-change-gear" mode or have I been irreversibly spoilt already ! only difference now i see is really traffic and working in the CBD and commuting during rush hours is getting more challenging (despite all the ERP nonsense)

  20. its is kinda cool when I see on movie or TV , ppl execute the heel-and-toe move. may be its a guy thing to think ."wow.. ain't it cool if i can do it too? " so I got myself a manual car. not because it is cheaper, not because it less parts to maintain comparing an auto. more so, I guess it is about wanting to be in control. To be able to feel that I am in control of how the car should behave. Not that auto can't do it. Just that the feeling with clutch-paddle and the stick give the sense of achievement. do u get this kind of sense of achievement to be able to drive a manual car? its a hobby. yes, its a hobby. when ppl ask u why u still using the stick when u can get auto cars? its a hobby. same as asking why ppl go fishing when u can get it much cheaper at the supermarket? :) anyway, just I anyhow thinking.

Eventually, I gave up even before I drive out of the showroom compound. Does anyone of you who are so used to driving an automatic car, have problem when switching to manual gear car?
