  1. Designed by ChangAn Mazda JV, this model is currently and likely be for the Chinese market only. Sitting on 19-inch aero wheels, the Mazda EZ-6 has a large panoramic glass roof and frameless doors. Reports from China indicate the electric/plug-in hybrid sedan is based on the ChangAn Deepal SL03 but pushed upmarket with a fancier interior. The cabin doesn't appear to have much in common with the Mazda products sold globally, which would explain the Chinese connection. It does seem like a nice place to be in, and that full-length "floating" center console is interesting. The Mazda EZ-6 gets a rear-wheel-drive setup as an electric model. It has a perfect 50:50 weight distribution and a multi-link rear suspension. The unspecified battery pack is good for 600 Km of range per the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). The plug-in hybrid can cover 1,000 Km before running out of gas and battery juice. As for size, it's 4,920 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,483 mm tall. That makes it slightly bigger than the outgoing 6. Speaking of which, Mazda has already ruled out replacing the 6 we all know with a new generation on the company's RWD platform with inline-six engines. For now, that architecture is exclusively used by four SUVs: CX-60, CX-70, CX-80, and CX-90.
  2. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/693042/mazda-iconic-sp-concept-rotary/ The Mazda Iconic SP concept made its debut at the Japan Mobility Show today with a novel feature that sports car fans have been clamoring for since 2012: a rotary engine. Looking very much like the company’s Vision Study design piece from last year, the fixed-roof Iconic SP is a bit larger than the current MX-5 Miata, making it a tantalizing continuation of the RX-7’s legacy. But unlike that legendary coupe, the Iconic SP makes use of its two-rotor mill not to drive the wheels, but to charge a battery of unknown capacity, which then sends juice to an unspecified electric motor layout. While there are those burning questions about the so-called R-EV’s powertrain specifics, wherever the juice comes from, there sure is a lot of it – 365 horsepower to be precise. Mazda says the rotary can run on a variety of fuels, including hydrogen and renewable fuel, and the battery can also be plugged into a home outlet to recharge it. Coming in at 164.6 inches long by 82.8 inches wide and 45.2 inches high, the Iconic SP is 10.5 inches longer than a current MX-5 Miata and 4.1 inches shorter than a 1995 RX-7. According to the company, the Iconic SP weighs in at a slightly portly 1,450 kilograms (3,197 pounds), making it about 400 pounds heavier than the RX-7 and about 800 pounds more than the Miata. Such is the price one pays for electrons, and the Iconic SP still isn’t that heavy compared to the 3,342-pound Toyota Supra or 3,519-pound Nissan Z. It wears its size very well, too. Mazda says the compact powertrain allows a very low hood and ultra-compact dimensions, and the Iconic SP’s Coke-bottle fenders provide a modern contrast to the RX-7-style windows and rear hatch. The automaker’s modern grille shape appears on the nose, and Venn-diagram taillights recall both the NA-generation Miata and FC-generation RX-7. The doors open in a graceful, upward motion, not unlike Aston Martin's swan wing design. The Iconic SP is painted a beautiful shade called Viola Red, which is brighter than the company’s signature Soul Red Crystal – appropriate for a sports car. Inside, the Iconic SP is a triumph of minimalism, with a typewriter-key gear selector, digital instrument cluster, and small infotainment display being the only distractions from its curvaceous, flowing design. The kakenui stitching first seen on the CX-90 SUV appears on the Iconic SP concept’s dashboard and door panels, and the seats wear biofabric upholstery (a word we haven’t heard Mazda use since it developed a seat material made from renewable plastic in 2009). The combination of plug-in electric and range-extender tech isn’t new, even at Mazda – the MX-30 PHEV has a 0.8-liter single-rotor powerplant under the hood to keep the battery charged. The two-rotor engine in the Iconic SP might displace 1.6 liters, given the MX-30 uses a 0.8-liter single-rotor design. What’s more, the mill in the sports car can be used as a V2L generator, appropriate for everything from tailgate parties to backup power during severe weather. Mazda describes the engine architecture as scalable, so it’s possible the renewable-fuel rotary technology could be used for other applications. Dedicated home generators could make use of small-displacement rotaries, while larger vehicles could potentially daisy-chain rotors together to make bigger power. That said, the Iconic SP concept is a vehicle that is intended to underscore Mazda’s commitment to driving enjoyment first and foremost. “Mazda will always deliver vehicles that remind people that cars are pure joy and an indispensable part of their lives,” said company Representative Director, President, and CEO Masahiro Moro. “As a car-loving company that mass produces the inspiring mobility experience, we are committed to shaping the future … where everyone can proudly say, ‘We love cars.’”
  3. Mazda driver must have thought a giant took a s*** on his car. What happened? A Mazda driver was travelling along Marymount Lane when they no doubt s*** themselves after it looked like someone s*** on their car. As we can see in the video, a construction zone beside the road had some equipment malfunction, with a cable/tube snapping and unleashing a torrent of mud. The unlucky Mazda was able to get ahead by just a bit before the massive brown load splattered all over the road, leaving part of his windshield unobscured while the rear and roof of the car was covered in the filth. The brown shower did not end there however, as we see the mud continue to gush out of a tube before it finally ended. If there is a silver lining, maybe it’s that it could have smelled worse? Online chatter Some made joke of the free ‘mud bath’. Others were a little more concerned that this could happen, as if it was metal or concrete that fell instead there would be far more damage and possible casualties. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 4. Paid for package servicing with discount 1 year ago...so just went in. Major servicing so book 1st slot at 8am. Things to do: Change oil, flush engine, all the filters change, fuel/air/air con/spark plugs, no car wash(I don't want) tyres rotate and balancing, handbrake lever adjust lower. 3pm collected the car. Seems like not so many cars, mine book 2 weeks in advance. I waited 1 year for this servicing, in between change oil outside once coz low millage due to semi retired, less use of the car. 2 years 6 mths more, then scrap the car since COE so high. Sharing infomation for Mazda 3 owners. For those who wants to change Capacitors, they are priced at $2.3k,they mentioned if don't change nothing wrong but battery life shortened by half, meaning 1 year change once, but your warnings lights will flash...
  5. TL;DR - Mazda 5 driver’s failure to obey traffic rules sent a pedestrian flying at Yuan Ching Road. This Mazda driver definitely lives up to the standard of being a ‘kiasu’ Singaporean. Watch this to see what I mean. What Happened? A (dramatic) footage surfaced on SGRV of a Mazda driver knocking down a pedestrian and sending him in the air at Yuan Ching Road. The traffic light was green for pedestrian crossing (with a significant number of seconds left) when a Mazda 5 driver decided to still drive across, thinking he could out-beat the pedestrian. Unfortunately, he did not. And this ‘kiasu’ mistake resulted in the pedestrian getting banged. The young pedestrian was cartwheeled into the air from the impact, hitting his head on the concrete as he slammed into the ground. Online Chatter As much as everyone is ‘shitting’ on the Mazda driver, some also attacked the SBS bus for dashing off and the poor victim for not being careful when crossing the road (even though it was his right of way). Oh well, it seems like everyone is at fault, one way or another. So hard to please the people. Nonetheless, wishing the pedestrian a speedy recovery. And for all road users out there, please keep your eyes on the road, regardless if you’re driving or walking. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Holding the title of the largest automaker in the world requires constant progress. Every day we are getting breaking news about the possible Toyota MR2 successor. One day it’s a small four-cylinder turbo and the next day it’s a hybrid. Yet, respected Japanese publication Best Car, states it will be an EV. A possible collaboration with Mazda also may be in the pipeline. From what we know, it may be a 500-horsepower, 4WD sports car around the size of the GR Supra. Development has already begun for this projected model. If everything goes according to plan, we should see them stateside by 2026. WORD FROM INSIDERS - THE MR2 IS HAPPENING An inside source at Toyota states that they are in development of their next-gen EV sports car. Toyota revived the fire of enthusiasts with the GR Supra. Can they do the same without the help of a combustion engine? Japanese manufacturers Nissan and Honda have also begun to push into the sports EV market. Does Toyota feel the pressure? In December of 2021, they held an event for future EV models. Amongst them was a variety of sports cars. Yet, there are few details about the concepts presented at that event. A Toyota source says the intention of making an EV sports car is real, however, so there is some legitimacy to the concepts. GAME-CHANGING BATTERIES? One of the most difficult aspects of making an EV sports car appealing is performance of the battery. Current lithium-ion options have seen many optimizations. Yet, they still can’t be seen as the true replacement to combustion engines. To solve this issue, Toyota has teamed up with Panasonic to develop new battery tech. Known as "solid-state" batteries, they are more efficient in every aspect. Cruising range is twice that of an equal lithium-ion with the same capacity. Charging times should be half that of current technology along with less deterioration. This will be a game-changing tech and Toyota plans to have it in production by 2026. This lines up exactly with their timeline of their next-gen sports EV. Toyota is the company that first introduced electrification at a production level. They have over 1,000 patents related to hybrid and battery tech. The first prototype of the solid-state battery could be as early as Q4 2022. FASTER AND MORE CAPABLE THAN WE IMAGINED This emerging tech is still very expensive and unfit for mass production right now. This is why their first venture with the tech will be in a niche market, such as sport EVs. Yet, the power capabilities are well beyond what we expected out of a possible MR2 successor. The first generation MR2 struggled to make even 100 wheel horsepower. According to the Toyota source, the new battery and motor combo will have a power output of 500 horsepower. Can you imagine that? Even more impressive is that the system will be 4WD with dual front and rear motors. Yet, don’t expect the mini proportions we know of the Toyota MR2. Instead, the car will be the body size of the current GR Supra. It is even possible that this technology will lead to a solid-state battery GR Supra first. Mazda has also hinted at a collaboration with Toyota in the sport EV space. Yet, their offering will be a crazy rotary-powered EV. The rotary-engine will serve only for power generation for the battery. We have never seen any powertrain in a sports car do that before, so it will be revolutionary. As technology continues to develop, we will see exciting changes in the sports EV market.
  8. Hello, Wondering if anyone replaced their Mazda Connect system with Mazda (or with 3rd-party)? I tried using AA via AIO Tweaks but it's quite buggy, and the USB charging is really slow - it doesn't charge as fast as the phone consumes the battery. I enquired with Mazda on the upgrade price but haven't heard back yet. I'm curious if anyone upgraded their system? Thanks
  9. One thing that people are exceptionally fond of doing these days is posting EVERYTHING on social media. Unfortunately, this includes doing dumb things, filming it and posting it online for the world to see (Yes, it happens even if your account is private😞 IMG_7599.MP4 What Happened? In the short video, a 'chiobu' was filming herself and her two friends seated inside a Mazda MX-5. For those of you that know, the Mazda MX-5 is an iconic 2-seater Japanese convertible sports car. After looking at the image above, you wonder, "How do three people sit in a 2-seater convertible?" Apparently, this 'chiobu' decided to create a makeshift third 'seat' by sitting on top of the MX-5's centre console. Thereafter, the trio took a joyride in the Mazda MX-5 around Sentosa, while the 'chiobu' remained perched on the centre console. Without a doubt, what she did was dangerous. 1) Being seated on the centre console means she had no seatbelt on: She would have flown off like a rag-doll in the event of a frontal collision. 2) Her head was sticking out from the car significantly: If the car rolled over, she would have been decapitated even with rollover bars. How many traffic offences do you think were committed in this video? Let me know in the comments below! Netizens' Comments Book-smart but not street-smart🙃 Soon TP gonna have a 'social media' department already. If those 2 guys complete NS already but still so sohai, idk what to say anymore. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 10. A Mazda driver tries for a lane change that did not end well. The incoming motorcyclist skidded off course and fell down at the side of the road. Onlookers came on to assist the motorcyclist but the Mazda driver had driven off without a second word. The news was that the rider had suffered minor injuries and abrasions on his leg. Watch the video for yourself below 286923215_1338749943301494_2605439203475040899_n.mp4 Netizens were divided over the main culprit for the cause of the rider’s accident. Some placed the fault on both parties Whilst others placed the blame entirely on the motorcyclist And others entirely on the Mazda driver However, it seems like the overarching opinion was for the innocence of the Mazda Driver, given that he did in fact utilize the turn signal, and managed to lane change at a decent slow speed. What do you think? Whose side would you be on in this situation? Either way, let’s wish for the well-being and safety of the cyclist who got injured. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 11. Remember the viral Rolls Royce incident below? Here is a similar incident that occurred recently, but with a twist: What Happened? Those who have been to Upper Thomson would be aware of how difficult it is to get a vacant parking lot along the stretch of the service road. For one "creative" Mazda 3 driver, he defies all odds to park his car - by mounting the kerb and parking it on the pedestrian footpath. After parking his car on the pedestrian footpath, he alights from his white Mazda, where he faces the cam car driver behind him. Instead of acknowledging his wrongdoing of parking his car illegally and congesting the service road, he walked to the cam car and dared to ask the driver to squeeze in between 2 cars. Needless to say, the cam car driver refused to budge for an obvious reason. The space between the white Mitsubishi Lancer and the illegally parked Mazda 3 was too tight to squeeze through. The Mazda 3 driver continued to grumble and air his grievances against the cam car driver for not attempting to squeeze through. After much "persuasion", the cam car driver decided to try his luck squeezing past the cars but to no avail. Just then, the passenger of the Mazda 3 driver, supposedly his wife, appeared. And although it was not captured on the dashcam, it seemed like his wife managed to diffuse the situation and persuaded him to drive off. Several onlookers stared at him in bewilderment as he mounted the kerb (again) and drove off from the pedestrian footpath. Netizens' Comments Maybe if he was driving a conti, there's a chance he could catch people's attention🤭 To sum it up, this guy got many issues. If we can share our roads with cyclists, I am sure we can share the Earth with these people too🙂 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 12. Personally, I strictly employ the 2-second rule, especially during heavy (heavier) traffic and wet weather. The extra distance and time provided by the 2-second rule will be crucial for you to react accordingly when the car in front of you performs an abrupt brake. Watch what happens when one doesn't leave a safe distance from the car ahead: What Happened? A total of 14 vehicles were involved in 3 clusters of accidents along lane 1 of the PIE, with two clusters being multiple chain collisions. According to the dashcam footage, both the chain collisions seemed to have occurred just moments earlier. The first cluster This was most likely the cause of the subsequent accidents. It involved 3 cars: A Toyota Prius A Toyota Vios A Mazda CX-3 The second cluster The most 'rabak' out of the three, involved a total of 8 cars and a mini-van. The 8 cars consists of: A Nissan Sylphy A Hyundai Elantra A Toyota Corolla Altis A Toyota Wish A Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class A Mercedes-Benz C180 Two unidentifiable cars that were squashed against the concrete barrier The final cluster The dashcam footage captured the last accident or final cluster, which involved 2 cars: A Honda Civic An Audi TT Unfortunately, despite being able to brake in time due to the ample safety distance ahead of him, the Honda Civic still got rear-ended pretty hard by the Audi TT. The impact of the collision caused the Honda Civic to surge several metres ahead. The 2-Second Rule Could the 2-second rule taught to us in driving school prevent this series of accidents? Possibly, if each driver practices this rule - Take a look at the Honda Civic that managed to stop in time with the 2-second rule employed by the driver. I am certain that with the 2-second rule, there would be fewer cars involved in the massive chain collision due to the added time and distance for each driver to react accordingly. Netizens' Comments I hope this clears up the confusion on why the Honda Civic was flashing his high beam at the cam car. I also wonder why🤔 Well, that escalated! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  13. Car sharing drivers have developed quite a bad reputation for their atrocious driving over the years. If you're wondering how bad they are right now, look no further. Here's a video that will make you facepalm yourself: What Happened? After failing to come to a complete stop at a stop-line, a GetGo Mazda 3 abruptly performed an e-brake to avoid t-boning a taxi. For some reason (most likely to give the Mazda 3 driver a death stare), the taxi stopped just in front of the Mazda 3. At this point, the Mazda 3 somehow gently rolls forward and collides with the side of the taxi. I am not sure about you, but this deserves a good facepalm moment. This incident serves as a prime example of the poor driving skills that the majority of car sharing drivers possess. Netizens' Comments MMMM..... 👁️👄👁️ Personally, I tend to avoid being around these cars. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 15. Angsty uncle takes time out of his day to teach a blur driver a lesson. The video starts with the cam car behind the uncle, who was driving a Mazda CX-3. As the lights changed, the black Mazda proceeded to make its turn, only to be rudely cut off by a white Hyundai Elantra that had turned into the wrong lane. This infuriated the uncle, who honked loudly to alert the white car of his presence. Here is a closer look: As the cam car continued driving down the road, the Mazda suddenly revved its engine and sped ahead. The uncle then slotted himself back into the first lane, right in front of the fella who had previously cut into his lane. He then hit his brakes, scaring both the Hyundai and the cam car driver. As the cam car came to a stop, the uncle from the black Mazda alighted from his vehicle and angrily approached the white Hyundai. He then gave a pretty stern verbal lashing to the driver before making his way back to his vehicle. The video ends with all three vehicles driving off after the uncle's confrontation. Netizens' reactions Seeing how he just turned into the wrong lane, I would guess that it's probably the Hyundai driver's first few times on the road. These people obviously need to be sent back to their driving schools! Was their instructor asleep at the wheel when they did their TP? 😒 If the uncle hadn't publicly confronted the fella, this would have been 100% in his favour. ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 16. Wheelies seem like a pretty cool trick or stunt to look at. Motorcyclists are not the only ones that can perform such stunts, but drivers can also perform wheelies. Don't believe me? Watch it here: What Happened? A Mazda 2 hatchback that performed a last-minute lane change near a red light ended up rear-ending a Nissan Qashqai instead. However, the Nissan SUV easily absorbed the blunt impact from the collision. The rock-hard sturdiness of the Nissan SUV resulted in the Mazda 2 mounting it and doing a "wheelie" on its right wheels. For a moment, it seemed as though the Mazda 2 was about to turn turtle. Luckily, the Mazda 2 regained its stability and safely landed on all four wheels. It then travelled quite a distance before stopping in the middle of the junction. Netizens' Comments I can imagine it LOL. Part and parcel of driving in Singapore😪 Cannot handle a Mazda 2, but might be able to handle a F1 car🤔 ========= Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! 17. <Designer Of The Mazda Miata, Shunji Tanaka, Dies Aged 75 Thanks for everything, Tanaka-San. Shunji Tanaka, the chief designer of the original (NA) Mazda MX-5 Miata, has passed away. The announcement was made on Facebook by a close friend and chairperson of the MX-5 Club Tanaka was a member of, Mr. Katsuyuki Satake. A translation by a fellow enthusiast alerted CarBuzz to the news with a simple statement, "I'm so sorry to announce that Mr. Tanaka, the Chief Designer of NA MX-5 has passed away on Dec. 12th at the age of 75." Apparently, Mr. Tanaka's last words were, "I have no regret in my life." It's unclear what Tanaka died of, but he was right, not having any regrets. He gave the world the seminal small sports car. The Miata is the Porsche 911 of small sports cars and has a legacy and reputation some manufacturers can only dream of. Mazda Friends Of MX-5/Facebook Mazda Mazda Mazda It remains the world's best-selling sports car and one of the most affordable ways for automotive enthusiasts to have fun. Mazda may be moving over to hybrid power for the MX-5 in future, but we're sure the fun element will be retained. For now, it remains true to its origins. Despite being head designer of the Miata, Tanaka did not get as much attention as the lead engineers, Toshihiko Hirai and Takao Kijima. These two men were responsible for making the Miata the epic driving tool, while Tanaka was responsible for the exterior and interior design. While the Miata certainly deserves praise as a driving tool, the design is as much a part of a very successful and lucrative roadster. Before the Miata came along, the roadster had all but died out. It continued the ethos of British roadsters but rectified their build quality and reliability issues for a complete package like no other. Friends of MX-5 Miata/Facebook Mazda MX-5 Miata 25 years The NA Miata was such a hit, an entire book was written about it when it turned 25. As you can see, the famous pop-up headlights and smiling face were always a part of the design, inspired by the Lotus Elan. According to Tanaka, the concept for the Miata was a "Swinging Time Machine." In short, it was a symbol of freedom and meant to provide a thrilling open-top experience that brought the driver closer to nature. Many people don't know this, but the first concept was designed in California. Mazda approved the project, which sparked the initial design phase. After completing the project, it was shipped to Japan, where a disapproving Tanaka met it. Mazda MX-5 Miata 25 years MX-5 Miata Forum MX-5 Miata Forum According to interviews with Tanaka, he thought the design was too Americanized, and there was no way to identify it as a lightweight sports car. He didn't beat around the bush. He also said the US team must have "eaten too much steak and forgotten the delicacy of Japanese cuisine." You can see the difference between the California concept and Tanaka's clay model in the photos above, with the redesign taking influence from his wife's love of Japanese Noh masks that seemingly change expression depending on the angle they are viewed from. Whether his comments were too harsh or not, history speaks for itself. The NA Miata is a driving and design icon, and Shunji Tanaka was responsible for half of that. Rest in peace Tanaka-San. 18. Mazda Amati logo. The initial Amati products would have been the Amati 500 (which became the Mazda Millenia), and the Amati 1000 (a new rear wheel drive V12 successor to the Mazda 929). This never happened, leaving the near-luxury Millenia to the Mazda brand.

  20. TL;DR – A Mazda 3 driver and a Mitsubishi Attrage driver yells at one another at a HDB estate for reasons unknown. Let’s dive right into the 49-second video. This incident looks like it occurred at a HDB estate (location undetermined), possibly near the entrance of a MSCP. Kimak! The video begins with the grey Mazda 3 driver stepping out of his car, clearly unhappy with the driver in the red Mitsubishi Attrage. . Mazda driver loses all chill and starts cursing at the Mitsubishi driver’s mother (in Malay) and other assorted dialects referencing the female anatomy. The Mitsubishi driver does play a part in this heated exchange as well. He did not project his voice as well as the Mazda driver though, so his voice is muted. What could have sparked this? Looking at the screenshot closely, I think the grey Mazda driver got mad because he was trying to make a left, but he felt obstructed by the Mitsubishi, who was turning right but positioned his car at a weird angle. Red car not in the wrong Technically, one could argue that the Mitsubishi was still within its lane, AND in his defence, he also stopped at the stop line. Online Chatter I also say. That would be a plot twist indeed. Sadly, a lot of things are wrong with the world. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. So i end up having cold hands and warm thighs when i drive. Service center says they dont know what is the problem. There is no leak... My car is just 8 mths old....mileage is 5k only.... Anyone encounters such issue before?
  22. Another day, another joker on the road getting what he deserves for his reckless driving. What happened In the wee hours of the morning, a Mazda 3 driver is seen driving down Admiralty Road right beside a large garbage truck. Wanting to filter to his right, the car flashes its right indicator lights to signal its intention. This is when things start to go horribly wrong. Instead of letting the truck pass, the Mazda driver fails to check for safety and starts to drift to the right. The weird thing about his behaviour is that he actually slows down right in front of the large truck as his vehicle performs the lane change. As a result, the car ends up getting hit in the rear by the garbage truck and continues along the road for a while before coming to a stop. It is unclear if the Mazda driver had hit the brakes on purpose or by accident. Additionally, the fact that the Mazda kept going after getting hit could mean that the driver did not realise that he had been hit. A great example of why all drivers die die must have insurance It is important to note that the Mazda 3 driver carries a P plate, which is a probationary license plate that should be put on display at the top-right portion of the front and back windscreens of new drivers. The plate can be taken down after a year of valid driving experience. As such, it is critical that all drivers, especially P-platers, have insurance in case of accidents like this. Annual premiums for car insurance typically start at $850, and the amount that you pay is determined by your age, your occupation, the amount of driving experience you have, your car model, and your claims history. For P platers and drivers below the age of 27, car premiums are through the roof as insurers deem these drivers to possess a higher level of risk of getting into accidents. Netizens' reactions P-platers, no matter the situation, there is no reason good enough to justify driving and switching lanes recklessly. 23. 2022 Mazda CX-5 Revealed With Updated Design, Standard All-Wheel Drive There are more changes than meets the eye as the 2022 CX-5 benefits from a more responsive six-speed automatic transmission delivering smoother acceleration. Not only that, but the compact SUV now features a different suspension to better iron out vibrations and diminish road noise courtesy of a new dampening control structure and higher frame rigidity. Another important update is all-wheel drive being made standard across the range. As a matter of fact, Mazda is offering AWD as standard equipment on all CX models going forward. From the subcompact CX-30 to the midsize CX-9, every single SUV sold by the company will have an all-paw system even in the entry-level trim.
  24. With a torrential rainstorm hitting Singapore yesterday, drivers experienced high tensions as they braved the rain during the morning peak hours. One driver, however, was not so lucky and did not escape the wrath of a motorcyclist. As the first few seconds of this video rolled by, I was already irritated by the sight of the slow-moving vehicles crawling their way through the underpass along Farrer Road. However, when the motorcyclist lined himself beside the Mazda just before entering the underpass, I knew something interesting was going to happen. As the motorcyclist unsuccessfully attempted to lane-split, he found himself stuck behind the black Mazda 6 throughout the entire underpass. Presumably annoyed that the congested roads did not open for him, the motorcyclist crept close to the Mazda to squeeze through the tiny gaps in between the lanes. Unable to get his way, the angry biker zoomed past the car once the roads were clearing up and expressed his emotions with an angry whack to the Mazda 6's side mirror. Very much like this angry cat here. What is lane-splitting? Just in case you were lost earlier when I mentioned it. Defined as 'riding a bicycle or motorcycle between roadway lanes of vehicles driving in the same direction', it is common for motorcyclists to perform lane splitting in slow-moving traffic. The main argument for this act is because lane-splitting prevents motorcycles from overheating. When a running motorcycle is at a standstill or edging forward for an extended period, the vehicle heats up quickly. Hence, riders must keep moving, even in congested traffic. However, lane-splitting is incredibly inconsiderate to other road users. Although it is tolerated by traffic laws when done safely, it puts the motorcyclist at a higher risk of getting crushed by a larger vehicle. Unless there is adequate space in between lanes, riders should avoid lane-splitting at all costs. Instead, the best way to manoeuvre through congested roads would be to practice care and anticipation. Better to stay safe than sorry! Netizens' reactions Some say the Mazda 6 driver is being a dick and others say the motorcyclist cb. What do you think? I think the Mazda 6 driver is pretty innocent tbh. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car.
