  1. There's also a new exterior color and expanded upholstery shade choices. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 4MATIC arrives with a refresh that gives the coupe-inspired sedan an updated look and tweaked tech. Sales in the United States begin in early 2022, and the company isn't discussing pricing yet. The 2022 CLS now comes standard with the AMG Line styling package on the outside that includes different side sills and bits of gloss black trim. The sedan wears a revised front bumper with a more flowing design for the inlets in the lower fascia, and the front splitter is now chrome. The tweaked grille gains a three-dimensional Mercedes-Benz star pattern with a chrome-glass surface. The LED headlights are clear at the outer corner, rather than being amber on the current model. At the back, there are chrome, trapezoidal exhaust tips. A simulated diffuser runs between the pipes.
  2. Another day, another review with sgCarMart! And today, we have the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E200 Exclusive! One of the best sellers in the Mercedes-Benz range since its inception, the E-Class just keeps getting better and better, and being here in E200 guise, it still gives you the luxury and comfort you expect of a Mercedes-Benz. If you thought the front fascia of the new E200 looked good, check out the side three-quarter angle. I daresay it blends the sleek and smooth lines with just the right amount of aggression into one great package. With 194bhp and 320Nm of torque from an updated 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission, I doubt many drivers are going to find a lack of power with the E200, especially when you're trying to overtake that inconsiderate driver hogging the first lane on the AYE. 0 - 100km/h comes and goes in 7.5 seconds. You're not going to break any speed records, but that is still brisk enough for Singapore traffic. The sight of this 3-point star bonnet emblem never really gets old, does it. I daresay it is that one factor that really adds a debonair touch to any Mercedes-Benz that has it. Like all newer Mercedes-Benz models, the E200 comes with two large screens at the front, one to display the car's information while the other is for infotainment purposes. I love how Mercedes-Benz is the only manufacturer who does this and it really gives a feel of airiness to the cabin. And not to mention, the lovely contours and leather patterns on the seats. And if you still aren't convinced how much legroom the E200 has in the back, here's some proof. The seat has been adjusted to Jon's position, and Jon is about 1.8m tall. Just look at the amount of space Julian has to lounge in the back seat, enough to seat cross legged even! Oh, and let's not forget the in-built sunshades on the windows. Those will be useful in our sunny weather. Electric tailgate as standard, wouldn't expect anything less on a Mercedes-Benz. 540 litres of boot space, more than able to fit the auntie trolley length wise. Cavernous, almost. 10 more litres than the BMW 5 Series, if you're wondering. There is even a pullout tray table that you can use to store documents, have a quick lunch, picnic, whatever you can think of to utilise that tray table. It can handle up to 10kg maximum load, so don't put anything that's too heavy on it. Want to find out all that Julian has to say about the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Saloon E200 Exclusive? Watch the video below to find out!
  3. I am selling my Merc purchased from C&C to another conti car. I have about 2000+ balance service credits which are not transferable to other Merc owners. So planning to use the balance credits to purchase items from Merc boutique in Alexandra and to sell the items to anyone interested at 30% discount off the usual boutique price. The discount is slightly negotiable and you can decide which items you would like. You can accompany me to the boutique. If anyone is keen, please pm me to arrange meet-up at the boutique. Thanks.
  4. Wondering if any bro or sis here is driving the above vehicle, care to share the driving experience, comfort level etc etc. Many thanks in advance.
  5. Exterior is a step back. Interior looks great! http://www.mercnews.net/2011/09/new-merced...s-interior.html
  6. hi everyone! I'm considering getting myself a c180(2nd hand). How's the car treating you? or does it have the "temperament" of conti cars, needing repair often? thanks!
  7. https://www.mercedes-benz.com/en/vehicles/passenger-cars/mercedes-benz-concept-cars/vision-avtr/ As fake as this car may look, it is 100% real. ' VISION AVTR – inspired by AVATAR. The name of the groundbreaking concept vehicle stands not only for the close collaboration in developing the show car together with the AVATAR team but also for ADVANCED VEHICLE TRANSFORMATION. This concept vehicle embodies the vision of Mercedes-Benz designers, engineers and trend researchers for mobility in the distant future. Extremely confident – and completely without emissions. With its four high-performance and near-wheel-built electric motors, the VISION AVTR embodies a particularly agile implementation of the vision of a dynamic luxury saloon. With a combined engine power of more than 350 kW, the VISION AVTR sets a new benchmark for EQ Power. Thanks to the intelligent and fully variable torque distribution, the power of the four fully individually controllable motors is not only managed in the best possible way in terms of driving dynamics, but above all in a highly efficient manner. The innovative all-wheel drive with torque vectoring enables completely new freedoms and guarantees driving dynamics at the highest level while at the same time providing the best possible active safety. This means that each wheel can be driven separately and depending on the driving situation. Due to the possibility to drive the front and rear axles simultaneously or in opposite ways, the VISION AVTR can move sideways by approx. 30 degrees, in contrast to conventional vehicles. The so-called “crab movement” gives the concept vehicle a reptile-like appearance even in its movement. Organic battery technology. The VISION AVTR was designed in line with its innovative electric drive. This is based on a particularly powerful and compact high-voltage battery. For the first time, the revolutionary battery technology is based on graphene-based organic cell chemistry and thus completely eliminates rare, toxic and expensive earths such as metals. Electromobility thus becomes independent of fossil resources. An absolute revolution is also the recyclability by composting, which is 100% recyclable due to the materiality. As a result, Mercedes-Benz underlines the high relevance of a future circular economy in the raw materials sector. Exceptional fast charging capability. In addition to an exponentially high energy density – compared to today’s battery systems with up to 1,200 Wh/litre – the technology also impresses with its exceptional fast charging capability via automated, conductive charging technology. This means that the battery will be fully recharging in less than 15 minutes. The innovative technology also allows maximum flexibility with regard to the construction space: with a local minimum of 94 millimetres, the battery adapts ideally to the shared space vehicle concept, thus maximising the multifunctional interior. With a capacity of around 110 kWh, the VISION AVTR enables an electric range of more than 700 kilometres. By recuperating during roll-out and braking, the high-voltage battery can be recharged with a higher efficiency than established systems while driving and thus contributes to the high energy efficiency of the overall system. Masterpiece of efficiency. At Mercedes-Benz, the consideration of efficiency goes far beyond the drive concept, because with increasing digitalisation, the performance of the large number of so-called secondary consumers also comes into focus – along with their efficient energy supply, without negatively affecting the drive power of the vehicle itself. Energy consumption per computing operation is already a key target in the development of new computer chips. This trend will continue in the coming years with the growth of sensors and artificial intelligence in the automotive industry. The neuro-inspired approach of the VISION AVTR, including so-called neuromorphic hardware, promises to minimise the energy requirements of sensors, chips and other components to a few watts. Their energy supply is provided by the cached current of the integrated solar plates on the back of the VISION AVTR. The 33 multi-directionally movable surface elements act as “bionic flaps”. Interior and exterior merge. For the first time, Mercedes-Benz has worked with a completely new design approach in the design of the VISION AVTR. The holistic concept combines the design disciplines interior, exterior and UX from the first sketch. Man and human perception are the starting point of a design process from the inside out. The design process begins with the experience of the passengers and consciously focuses on the perception and needs of the passengers. The goal was to create a car that prolongs the perception of its passengers. It was also a matter of creating an immersive experience space in which passengers connect with each other, with the vehicle and the surrounding area in a unique way. Sustainable materials. Large areas such as the back shell of the seat and the sky are decorated with a colour-changing fabric inspired by the colour world of the sea. Depending on the light, the textile changes its colour from dark blue to a subtle light blue. These seats are refined by the vegan DINAMICA® leather. DINAMICA® is the first and only microfibre that guarantees environmental sustainability throughout the entire production cycle. It is recycled material made from old clothing, flags and PET plastic bottles. During production, attention is paid to low pollutant emissions and low energy consumption. Thanks to its versatility, maximum performance and high quality, DINAMICA® is suitable for use in luxurious car interiors. It also guarantees slip resistance for passengers on the seats. The softness of the material gives the occupants a “welcome home” feeling. Intuitive control. The VISION AVTR already responds to the approach of the passengers by visualising the energy and information flow of the environment with digital neurons that flow through the grille through the wheels to the rear area. The first interaction in the interior between man and vehicle happens completely intuitively via the control unit: by placing the hand on the centre console, the interior comes to life and the vehicle recognises the driver by his breathing. This is made visible on the instrument panel and on the user’s hand. The VISION AVTR thus establishes a biometric connection with the driver and increases his awareness of the environment. The digital neurons flow from the interior into the exterior and visualise the flow of energy and information. For example, when driving, the neurons flow over the outside of the vehicle. When changing direction, the energy flows to the corresponding side of the vehicle. The vehicle as an immersive experience space. The visual connection between passengers and the outside world is created by the curved display module, which replaces a conventional dashboard. The outside world around the vehicle and the surrounding area is shown in real-time 3D graphics and at the same time shows what is happening on the road in front of the vehicle. Combined with energy lines, these detailed real-time images bring the interior to life and allow passengers to discover and interact with the environment in a natural way with different views of the outside world. Three wonders of nature – the Huangshan Mountains of China, the 115-metre-high Hyperion Tree found in the United States and the pink salt Lake Hillier from Australia – can be explored in detail. Passengers become aware of various forces of nature that are not normally visible to the human eye, such as magnetic fields, bioenergy or ultraviolet light. Bionic formal language. When the boundaries between vehicle and living beings are lifted, Mercedes-Benz combines luxury and sustainability and works to make the vehicles as resource-saving as possible. With the VISION AVTR, the brand is now showing how a vehicle can blend harmoniously into its environment and communicate with it. In the ecosystem of the future, the ultimate luxury is the fusion of human and nature with the help of technology. The VISION AVTR is thus an example of sustainable luxury in the field of design. As soon as you get in, the car becomes an extension of your own body and a tool to discover the environment much as in the film humans can use avatars to extend and expand their abilities. Here is a video of someone driving it:
  8. Bro Mustank, specially for you. Since it is from MB, sure got Diesel option. Daimler's Mercedes-Benz arm continues the development work of their first mid-sized pickup truck and our spies were there to catch them in the act. Just like the Renault Alaskan, Mercedes’ new pickup truck is based on the underpinnings of Nissan’s NP300 Navara and will reportedly enter the market under the GLT moniker, starting from 2017. The car you see in the photos is a test mule still carrying a lot of the Nissan’s body panels but we can clearly notice the wider front and rear wheel arches. Unlike other re-badged examples we’ve seen, the GLT is being developed and designed solely from Daimler to meet the specific needs of its customer base in Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America. The company gave us a good idea of how the final car will look like by releasing a teaser sketch image last year, along with the promise of high levels of utility combined with “the comfort, safety, and design of a Mercedes-Benz passenger car”. Mercedes still considers offering their new pickup in the US and if they do, the GLT will probably be made at Nissan’s factory in Mexico to avoid tarrifs. The company is also going to build it in Renault’s Argentinian facilities and at the Nissan plant in Spain for the regional markets respectively. Expect a range of four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with entry-level models getting a six-speed manual and the rest a seven-speed automatic gearbox, with power sent to all four wheels permanently.
  9. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/06/23/mercedes-benz-partners-with-nvidia-on-upgradable-vehicles.html Mercedes-Benz and Nvidia are partnering to develop the next-generation of the automaker’s in-vehicle computing systems that will assist with remote, or over-the-air, updates and automated driving capabilities. The companies announced the cooperation Tuesday with promises of developing “the most sophisticated and advanced computing architecture ever deployed in an automobile.” The electrical architecture, or brains, of a vehicle essentially enables the vehicle’s systems to communicate. It also allows the vehicle to receive and send information to outside sources for things such as remote upgrades or service alerts. Mercedes-Benz will begin to deploy the new architecture across its fleet in 2024, according to the companies. It will use Nvidia’s “Drive” platform, enabling features such as the vehicle’s driver-assist systems to be upgradable. It’s much like how Tesla remotely upgrades systems on its vehicles. “The entire product is going to be designed differently,” Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, said during a webcast Tuesday. He described the vehicles as being “perpetual, upgradeable” machines powered by supercomputers. Customers, the companies said, will be able to purchase and add capabilities, software applications and subscription services through over-the-air software updates during the life of the car. Such upgrades could provide additional revenue opportunities for the automaker as well as assist in expediting safety recalls or other upgrades. Nvidia shares were up less than 1% Tuesday afternoon to about $383. Shares earlier in the day hit a 52-week high of $385.70. The companies did not disclose financial details of the tie-up, which expands on an already-established partnership that included the automaker’s infotainment systems. “This new platform will become an efficient, centralized and software-defined system in our future Mercedes-Benz vehicles. NVIDIA’s AI computing architecture will help us streamline our journey towards autonomous driving,” Ola Källenius, Chairman of Daimler AG Board and head of Mercedes-Benz AG, said in a statement.
  10. Hello, good day to you. I would like to have some advice on the gearbox jerking issue of Mercedes-Benz, A class model. Is there any discussion on this topic? Hope you can direct me to that link, thank you.
  11. Stuck at home with nothing to do? Or worse yet, stuck at home with your kids that have nothing to do? Why not take this time to get them hooked on that that three-pointed star so maybe someday you can retire and drive your children's car around like a proper tai tai (and whatever the male equivalent of that is)? A man can dream... And if colouring is not exactly your child's thing, maybe he/she might be interested in this creepy thing? Whatever tickles your fancy, get them all from Mercedes' website here!
  12. That's right! We are back and with us today is a whole new tester! Let's give a warm welcome to our resident Journalist, Idris! This new video is adopting a whole new format, so let's see what the two get up to in the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake! Seems like both of our testers are properly impressed by Mercedes' MBUX system, but it seems like there's something else about this car that has Idris tickled? But of course, the reason why you would get this is because of the boot and the added practicality! Does the added practicality compromise the handling prowess of the Mercedes CLA? Idris takes it for a spin to find out, and you can discover for yourself if you should opt for the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake in the full video here! Tell us what you think about the new format!
  13. Hello all, Just to seek some opinions and advise from MCF members and experience professional. I've just committed to an AD for a new car, and here comes my dilemma... The car comes with a 18' matte/silver colored rims and I do not like the color. I've always been fan of shinny chrome rims as it is easy to clean and wash daily. Is it advisable to purchase a new set of chrome rims (same size 18') and use back the tyres, or it is better to keep the OEM rims and have them chromed so that the performance is not wrongly compromised by the newly purchased chrome rims? If the latter is true, then where in SG can get this service for chroming the rims? TIA
  14. Search the entire forum and it seems like there is no discussion on CLA Shooting brake........any feedback (be it + or -) on this particular model?
  15. SgCarMart is now doing video reviews! For our first test, James - knowing less than he should about the car - gets his hands on the Mercedes-Benz CLA200 and drags our editor Julian out of the office to get his professional opinion! The two go through what the car is all about, and talk about its handsome design, and best of all, to show us just how much the boot space has grown against the old car, we actually squeeze James right into the boot! For those curious as to if the slopping roofline will provide enough space for your kids, we squeeze three adults into the rear, and here is where the CLA starts to stumble. Julian proceeds to test the Mercedes-Benz User Experience, and let's just say that our editing soon involved a liberal use of the censor. You're going to have to watch the video yourself to find out how well it works! So given these faults, is the CLA200 still a good buy? Does the drive and the overall package, coupled with the three-pointed star make the car a worthy purchase? More importantly, what causes Julian to loose his cool first? Watch the video to find out! Don't forget to leave a like and hit that subscribe button, and leave a comment too, we would love to hear from you!
  16. I have changed my AGM battery after 2.5years, 70Ah Varta once Now the start/stop function fail again after 2 years, I thought AGM batteries can last longer than conventional type Does it mean now my battery is weak again presumably that's the cause for the start/stop failure recently? 17. A petrol engine making more torque than diesel equivalent?? The dream have come true... Mercedes-AMG Details Most Powerful 4-Cyl Ever, Makes 416 HP 500 Nm Look for this engine in the A45, CLA 45, and GLB 45 in the near future. Mercedes-AMG finally announces the official specs for its new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that goes under the internal designation M 139. In the higher-spec S trim, the mill offers 416 horsepower (310 kilowatts) and beats the previous-gen A45 with 375 hp (280 kW) to take the title as world's most powerful factory-offered four-cylinder engine ever available in a production vehicle. If we want to split some very thin hairs, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution FX-440 MR made 440 hp from its 2.0-liter four-cylinder, but production amounted to just 40 units exclusively for the UK. Specifically, the S version of the M 139 makes 416 hp at 6,750 rpm and 500 Newton-meters of torque between 5,000 and 5,250 rpm. The redline hits at 7,200 rpm. There's also a standard variant of the M 139 that produces 382 hp at 6,500 rpm and 480 Newton-meters between 4,750 and 5,000 rpm. The redline is the same 7,200 rpm. Both versions of the M 139 use a twin-scroll turbocharger. The S variant can produce up to 30.5 psi (2.1 bar) of boost, but the standard model goes to 27.6 psi (1.9 bar). To get into the nitty-gritty details, The M 139 weighs 160.5 kilograms. The four cylinders each have a bore of 83 millimeters and stroke of 92 millimeters. The mill features both direct injection and indirect injection through the intake manifold. There are two overhead camshafts operating on 16 valves, and the drive train is capable of tweaking the valve operation on both sides, in addition to Camtronic valve opening adjustment for the exhaust side. The M 139 engine will be available in a variety of models in the near future. The first of them to debut should be the new A45.
  18. New model out: https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/cars/918852/Mercedes-Benz-2018-C-Class-new-car https://www.motor1.com/news/232656/mercedes-benz-c-class-refresh/ My rep says it will be in SG in the third quarter.. Maybe they will have some sale of the current model...
  19. Hi Friends ! Thinking of getting OZ HyperGT HLT to replace my current stock rims (MERC W205) https://www.ozracing.com/alloy-wheels/oz-racing/i-tech/hypergt-hlt Will like to hear your comments or thought on it ... 1) some people commented that OZ wheels (Hyper GT) may not be able to support the weight of W205 (Curb weight 1,635 kg) for discussion, 4 Adults - 85kg each, with 2 travel luggage (40KG) - total 2015kg (exclude tyres) how / where can i find the max weight that OZ GT can support? roughly how much buffer should I give? 2) also some say OZ wheels hit pot holes sure GG, is there any truth to it? or just urban legends? many thanks!
  20. Anyone using assurance triple max? Any good feedback? http://www.sgcarmart.com/products/overview.php?ID=8863 Read online about the perks like good braking distance and fuel saving..But wanna get more opinions here.
  21. https://edition.cnn.com/2019/06/23/business/daimler-earnings-expectations/index.html New York (CNN Business)Daimler, the German auto company that makes Mercedes-Benz, has slashed its 2019 profit expectations by hundreds of millions of euros. The financial downgrade, announced Sunday, is the latest fallout from the diesel emissions scandal that has rocked the German auto industry. The company said that "various ongoing governmental proceedings and measures relating to diesel vehicles" will affect the company's second quarter earnings. It said it expects an increase in expenses related to those proceedings. Daimler said its profit for 2019 will be close to last year's level. Shares in the carmaker declined 3.6% in Frankfurt on Monday. The stock has dropped nearly 20% from a recent high in April. German automakers have faced years of scrutiny regarding harmful emissions that diesel vehicles produce. That scrutiny stems from a 2015 admission by another German automaker — Volkswagen (VLKAF) — that it rigged millions of diesel engines to cheat on emissions tests. The revelation trashed confidence among consumers and regulators in diesel technology and cost Volkswagen tens of billions of dollars in recalls, legal penalties and settlements. ****** Lets see if there is a large an outcry from merc owners. Will the resale value drop and what will the second hand car dealer use. Merc no resale value. Buyer dont want to be associated with a brand with low integrity ?
  22. I am currently considering b/w these 3 models-> BMW 320i, E200CGI or an audi A4. Does anyone know which brand gives the best fuel consumption?? For servicing, i know all will be expensive.. but is there a difference in cost b/w these 3?? (Generally, which will be more expensive in servicing?) Thanks
  23. The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé is not only the most emotional vehicle in its class, it is also highly intelligent: From MBUX Interior Assist, which recognises operational demands from gestures and equips the interior with intelligence, through augmented reality for navigation and understanding indirect voice commands to the ENERGIZING COACH that provides individual fitness recommendations, the new CLA offers an array of clever solutions. There are also ingenious details when it comes to the aerodynamics and new functions for the Intelligent Drive driving assistance package. The design underlines the coupé character with its stretched form and design elements such as the bonnet with powerdomes or the rear licence plate which has been moved down. As such it does justice to its predecessor’s status as a design icon. With MBUX, Mercedes-Benz has been revolutionising how to operate a car and communicate with it since the launch of the A-Class. “Now we go to the next level with an intelligent interior assistance system for the compact class. By recognising gestures it facilitates natural operation,” says Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development. “This is not the only new feature by which the CLA offers a great deal of automotive intelligence.” “With the first CLA we celebrated a huge success by selling some 750,000 vehicles and created a totally new segment with a four-door coupé,” adds Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales. “The new edition of the CLA has been developed further in an intelligent way and is even more emotional and sportier than its predecessor. Coupled with new operating systems, it sets new benchmarks for the entire class.” The new generation of compacts has made a key contribution to the rejuvenation and image change of the Mercedes-Benz brand. The CLA is important for winning and retaining new customers in particular. The CLA Coupé was launched in the USA in 2013, making it the first compact MercedesBenz on the American market. At peak times, more than two thirds of CLA buyers in the USA came from competitors. On average, CLA customers in the USA are around ten years younger than the typical MercedesBenz customer. In Europe, too, CLA customers are among the youngest in the Mercedes portfolio. In 2017, one in two customers in Europe previously drove a competitor's vehicle. Over 75 percent of European customers who previously drove a CLA as a coupé or Shooting Brake chose a MercedesBenz again for their next vehicle. In total, some 750,000 units of the first-generation CLA Coupé and CLA Shooting Brake contributed considerably to the compact car's success. In its first year, the new CLA will also be available as an Edition 1. In terms of both the exterior and the interior, this limited edition special model has numerous visual accents which underline its exclusivity. The new CLA will be manufactured at the Kecskemét plant (Hungary) and comes onto the market in May 2019. “As a four-door coupé, the new CLA intrigues with its puristic, seductive design and sets new standards in the design DNA of ‘sensual purity’. It impresses with its perfect proportions reflecting the first design sketch: a long, stretched bonnet, a compact greenhouse, a wide track with exposed wheel arches and our typical GT rear end with a strong distinctive ‘Coke-bottle shoulder’,” says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG. “In short - the CLA Coupé has the potential to become a modern design icon.” The combination of the long, stretched entry line above the windows and frameless doors give the CLA Coupé its unmistakeable sporty and elegant character. Forming the front end is the striking front section which is raked forwards like a shark nose with a long, stretched bonnet featuring powerdomes. Original article at http://9tro.com/media/news/the-new-mercedes-benz-cla-coupe The 2nd Generation CLA will be officially unveiled at the CES 2019 event at 3am 9th Jan (SG time).
