  1. These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon. The bad news for law enforcement is that spike strips will not work on these tires. This is what great R&D will do, and just think of the impact on existing technology: a. no more air valves b. no more air compressors at gas stations c. no more repair kits Link: http://www.michelinman.com/difference/rele...e01102005a.html
  2. Was talking to a hiadee at a tyre shop. he said why some PS2 are cheaper than others could be because some are direct from agent and these are customised to tropical weather like Singapore, those PI-ed ones are from europe and does not suit our use that well. PIed ones cheaper. really?

  4. Everyone, I am driving a Chevrolet Optra 1.6 Auto. My stock tyre is Yokohama S306 195/55/R15. While my stock tyre's grip is good, it is way too noisy for my liking. I need to replace my tyre soon, and I would like to get everyone's comment on the 2 tyres I have shortlisted. Please give me your comments as you have driven before, not from magazines/reviews etc. I am looking for a tyre which has good grip and reasonable quietness. (Ya, we all know that grip and quietness is inversely proportioned) Thank you very much.
  5. Michelin Develops Airless Tires Worrying about running over a nail, or making sure your tires are always full may be a thing of the past thanks to the R&D team at Michelin. This is a prototype for airless tires. Instead of the regular inflated tire, this tire has the traditional outer treads wrapped around flexible, yet sturdy spokes. Apparently these tires are going by the name tweel, which is completely stupid. Jump to see a video of the tweel in action. Image via Fourtitude [/color]
  6. Was doing some research n realised these 2 seem to be rated highest current as performance tyres, closely followed by Goodyear Eagle F1. I am considering 18" or 19" rubbers in Dunlop or Michelin as the preferred choices for now. Surprisingly the 19" seems to be as rare as finding a white tiger. Now which shop can I get the best prices? Can brothers quote me the shop and tel please.

My car tyres are due for changing and I was recommended this particular model by a tyre shop boss.He passed me a brochure and I got to learn about the many feature including good grip during wet weather, fuel saving etc. I had also asked from a few shops and some commented one common thing is that it is made from Thailand. Is tyre made from Thailand really no good? Recently I also got to know about XH1 model.Don't know much about XH1 except only know that it is made in Euro. Which country XH1 is made from and about how much does it cost? What is the different between XM1 and XH1? Do they have the same design features? Which model is the better one? Advise needed.
