  1. during lunchtime today, i saw a red altis, while parking head in, crashed into a benz with a pretty loud sound... the altis quickly drove away, leaving the benz with bad scratches and damaged clips of its front bumper, slightly dislodged. i rem the number plate of the altis and went for the lunch, thinking maybe the altis owner will leave a note on the benz... after lunch, i went back to the carpark but there was nothing on the benz (well, shd be normal right)... so i was pondering for 10 min between being a kaypoh or to mind my own business... in the end, i left a note on the benz to inform him the number plate of the altis and my contact number, offered to be a witness if the owner needs help... if you were me, what will u do? i'm just hoping next time if i kena this kinda sh|t, someone will help me too... heh
  2. Hi bros and sis, A motorcyclist knocked into the back of my car this morning, Monday at 810am along Clementi Ave 6 towards ECP (Just after the PIE exit into Clementi Ave 6, opp the PDF camp). The morning traffic was very slow along that stretch of road and another car, a Grey Benz (old model) was also involved. My car was stationery in the jam when I heard a "bang" sound. Turned around a saw someone (or thing) falling down. Engage parking brakes as well as hazard lights, got down the car to take a look and saw this motorcyclist getting off the road with the grey benz very close to him. I am not sure though if the benz did knocked into him. I directed both the parties to move their vehicles to the side of the road to discuss further. I got into my car and moved my car towards the side of the road. Just as I was getting down from my car, the benz zoomed off . I asked the indian motorcylist if he was alright, he said he was ok but I noticed that he was bleeding from his hands. Advised him to quickly see a doctor. At that moment, I totally forgotten about my car damages. I asked him if he got the benz number, he said he did not and he sounded worried thereafter. He also pointed to an oil patch on the road that may have caused him to slip while braking. We exchanged our numbers and he told me he will pay for my damages. Only then I remembered my car, I turned to look at my car, the bumber was dented with stratches and the rear lights casing smashed. I trusted him at the moment and seeing him bleeding, I had no heart to pursue with his details and did not take any photographs. If any bros here saw the accident and the benz driver's car plate number, please PM me. I hope to provide the motorcyclist the number when he calls me later. Thanks for hearing.
  3. Hi Guys Last week on Saturday, accidentally scratch a car while turning in the multi storey carpark. The incident happened as such, i was going upslope and she was going downslope. I turn my head, and saw that there was no car before i proceeded with my left turn. She came down quite fast, and before i could made a full turn she was dashing across and i scratch her back bumper on the sides with my front bumper also scratch. It was a scratch with totally no dents on a the other car, near the back wheel arch. It is the rear bumper on the side. Have spoken to the owner, damn she wanted to do at Tan Cheong . I believe that to do it at Tan Cheong would be 2~3 times the price of outside. I felt that i am partly in the wrong, though she was coming down, and she did not on her front lights in the dark carpark nor horn. But then now, probably can't say much. I wanted to enquired if anyone knows the rough costs for the respray? This women also very "bad temper", i almost wanted to do my own bumper and act blur that i scratch hers.
  4. 0830H. I was traveling along AYE in the direction towards Tuas on the first lane. At the stretch in the vicinity of NUS where the speed camera is, cars on the first lane came to a complete halt for reasons beyond me. I was able to halt in time when the car in front of me did a hard braking. It helped that I was keeping my distance. Unfortunately, the car following behind me was not able to and bumped into my rear bumper. Here it goes again, I thought to myself at that instance. I made eye contact with the driver via my rear view mirror and I thought he knew my intentions. Traffic was not really heavy and I do not want to stop on the first lane and cause an unwelcome jam. Signaling to the left, I made a slow maneuver to the road shoulder just before the NUS exit (if my memory serves me) and waited. No car follow suit. The driver remained on the first lane and drove on to my utter disappointment. Does he even know he bumped into me? Maybe he didn't? That's impossible. Maybe he did not understand or know my intentions to stop over at the road shoulder? Perhaps. He drove off. Maybe he could have stopped further down? I re-join the traffic and drove on but found no waiting car. That's my morning. *GE7o96T (Based on my memory. Scribbled the car plate down but left it in my car, will confirm tomorrow). I choose to believe you have your reasons not to stop at that point in time. If you are the driver of the car, kindly dropped me a PM and let us settle this as what a true gentleman will do. Or if you know the driver, please let him know that the driver of the car that he bumped into is looking for him and leave it to him to establish contact. Thanks for reading.
  5. I've accidentally my 3 weeks old car when I'm doing my reverse parking. *haiz* Looking for a place to do some minor respray, so that my dad won't notice. Though it's my car, but he'll nag till my head drop. Need to do it quick. Any recommendation? It's a black altis. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  6. Hi guys...need some views on this issue. My colleague's Nissan Sunny got into a minor accident on Saturday. He was on the 2nd lane when a stoner in a Rio (1st lane) filtered into the 2nd lane from behind and hit his rear right bumper. The damage was minute (just a small dent). The stoner (in a daze but no liquor smell) seemed to be in a rush and so they exchanged particulars and he went off. He told my colleague to go fix the bumper then get $$ from him. No pictures were taken but my colleague discovered tt his SGV plated Rio suffered a prior accident cos his right window (driver's side) cannot be wound down and his right side mirror was taped to the car. For this accident, the culprit only suffered minor scratch to his front left bumper. Now my colleague called him but he hung up on him and switched off his phone. He told my colleague that he got no money to pay. My colleague was told by his workshop that they cannot claim against his (the culprit's) AIG insurance cos this twit never report the accident to his insurer. Is this true? Like that anyone can just evade liability by acting blur and not report to insurer rite? Any advise?
  7. last sunday on the 19 i was driving to geylang to have my dinner with a few friends to have the beef kay teow. due to lack of parking lots i go round and round hoping to wait for a lot. and after 2nd round i was in the lane due to cars blocking i can't really see if they is any oncoming cars. so i move to the most right lane since i am waiting for a lot. this taxi behind drive off banging on my ass. he might be looking at the oncoming cars and not looking at the side if there's car anot. i get down and look. nothing serious. a little dent. he also say small matter lar. so move off. eat and forget about it. after eating went bugis to walk around. guess what after that when i go to the carpark to collect the car the bumper drop 1 side not drop but halfway another side intact. so take out lor. cos cover the pipe liao. and btw this is not my car. but my cousin's car which he let me drive till coe finish den scrape which is early next year. can't claim also. cos at 1st minor problem. also nv take down ic number. how? will the scrap value drop. i mean the body value the scrapyard take in on seeing the bumper no more.

  10. Above incident happened while I was in my sis's car. Last Saturday (26/May/07 @ about 345pm), while we will driving towards the woodlands custom, there was a heavy traffic jam. We were driving at the 2nd lane, out of a sudden, a JB car (think is Jeep) appeared very closely to our car, was at the 3rd lane (which was meant for bus/lorry lane), trying to swift in abruptly into our lane (No signal light from them). We sounded the horn non-stop to alert the driver but he chose to ignore. When the front vehicle (in front of us) moved, my sis also moved & that JB driver at tat time also drove into our lane (totally ignored our car) and hence it collided with my sis car and causes her side mirror to swift towards the driver door and also leaves long scratches (about 90 cm). After custom clearance, we stopped and fingered pointed at each other (I knw we shouldnt hve did tat, should keep calm). He then said we can by all mean go and claim his insurance. We exchanged particulars with the help of the CISCO officer at the custom. My sis had made a police report as well as insurance report. Per the car workshop ppl, if we involved with foreign vehicles, a third-party claim was not possibly. How can we bear this grievance and let him go scotfree just like that? Hope someone here, be able to give us some advice...are we able to sue him...? Or what other way to make that JB driver pay for his ruthless / reckless / igorant / arrogant....
  11. Hi Bro. I just got my van from my company whom ima working part time with now. There are some minor dents on the back of the door. Is there any places that i can go touch up on the doors to remove the dent and touch up of the paint?
  12. My friend unfortunately involved a minor accident yesterday[blush] when he was driving back to car park along in the center lane, a guy just was driving out from a park lot, my friend and that guy both jam braked, but still hitted each other a bit, minor paint lost and dent for both side, no doubt the guy should pay the rapir fee , but when they was exchanging personal particular, the guy occasionally found my friend still is 'P' plate driver and the worest is my friend didn't wear 'P' plate for his car , the guy got advantage immediately, all the expense have to afford by my friend, otherwise he would report TP my friend called me to give some idea, I'm also not sure how to settle this case?
  13. Last nite i was involve in a minor accidient at AMK. Was at the stop line turning left to the main road. While trying to turn out, a nissan cefiro hit my bumper. Went down the car and check, found a scratch on my bumper and thought nothing is wrong. They while still inspection my vechicle the drive said that he is in a hurry and pass me his name card and drove off. Tonight i went to petrol kiosk and found that the bumper has misalign there is a 3cm gap on the bumper again the body. You think i still can call the driver to claim him of the accident? wonder how much will it cost to fix it? I know i should have ask him to sign a form to bare the charges...but, guess its too late...do you think the driver will change his stance? Thanks. pls advice.
  14. Incidentally, dropped a hand drill with the bit still attached onto my front fender yesterday, causing this 1cm long scar which scrapped thru the paintwork. Applied a bit of touchup paint but the effect didn't seem too good. Any advice from the gurus here how can I restore it back without having to respray?
  15. Just collected my new car less than 3 wks back and this is what happen yesterday. There is this bus that try to overtake my car (driven by my dad) in the PIE. The driver was trying to filter to the 2nd lane whereas my car was in the 3rd lane. The bus(Front Left Bumper) scratched thru my car(Rear Right Bumper) and causes the Rear right Bumper to give way and Tail Right Lamp to crack off. As both the owners were not present during the accident. Today I called the Bus Owner up and to my anger, he fired up at me saying that it my dad fault. I was pissed off my his statement as I suffered the damage and there basically no damage to his bus. Any advises from experience drivers out there? What my chances as Tan Cheong ask me to pay up full amount to the damage than do a claim to the other party's insurance?
  16. Got into a minor accident just now. Bang onto the rear of a truck. His truck brake light faulty, so didn't know he braked and by the time I realise he braked, too late liow. His damage almost none because his bumper quite high. So my bumper went under his bumper, but his bumper hit onto my front grills. So my front grills broke and also some cratches and crack on my bumper. Damage-wise not so bad.....radiator never kena, the bonnet can still open and close firmly. Should I now bring it back to Starauto or should I get outside people to do it? For minor accident like this, who would be cheaper?
  17. As you know the tailback all the way to JE from BV due to that fallen tree. I was coming out of Toh Tuck to Boon Lay Way to Clementi. Changed my mind to go left. Traffic was crawling and I saw this gap in front of this minibus. I was at an angle on his left already inched almost into the lane. He moved and his side hit my right wing mirror. The mirror didn't absorb the impact. It went with the impact like taichi master deflecting the impact and flipped 90 deg forward. I just reversed the car slightly, wound down the window, flipped it back to its original position. I came out to take a look. See if other things are bad. The minibus driver came out cursing that I dunno how to drive car in hokkien. Some of my mirror's paint was shared in a line to the side of his bus. He pointed at a big dent on the bus corner obviously not caused by me and wanted me to follow him to his workshop in Alexandria to settle the repair. I said, OK, just give me your contact and I give you mine. Rule number one, extricate yourself from the scene if there is no loss of life. Everyone is a little heated up. No point staying around. I drove off to Star Auto to report the incident and he called up claiming that his repair will be in hundreds of dollars. I didn't buy the dent being caused by me because my paintwork is not deposited on it! I do not have any damage and actually I think what I deposited on his bus was Klasse! The mirror was absolutely unharmed. A side mirror that deflected the impact causing a deep dent? Give me a break! He called and wanted me to speak Mandarin to ease communications. I feigned being an ABC (which is not really far ) and told him I have informed my insurance company of the incident. I told him if he is recording this, read my lips. "I have reconsidered my position and do not wish to claim liability for this." He said I was wrong to squeeze in. I said you hit me, so make the claim. He asked again " Ni yao bu yao huan chian?" To which I replied, "BU YAO!". That ended the incident once and for all.
