Sound proofing is usually 2 layers. One layer is on the metal bit of the door and then another layer is on the frame of the door. Mitsu actually bothered to stick 2 pieces of felt to dampen a bit of vibration on the door plastic. One layer on the door skin One layer on the door frame Mitsu has 2 pieces of felt. Better than never put anything I guess.

Remember the eclipse? His SUV brother is born. Front foggies seems too big though. Remember Mit used to say they may evo their SUVs (somehow they retracted that statement recently). hi bros and sisters in mycarforum... i was wondering if anyone was driving the above mentioned car... it's a 1.5L MIVEC turbo producing stock 145bhp, mated to 6CVT and does 0-100kph in 8.5s... i'm considering getting a 2nd hand one, probably a 4.5yrs old selling at $38,000... it's got auto headlamps, auto tailgate, and keyless entry which can fold the mirrors, and close all windows remotely when outside the car... may i know if there are problems with the car and how to settle it?? thanks. -

British publication Autocar reports the cult-favourite Japanese sports car will be revived under the alliance between Mitsubishi and Renault. Continuing a rich history kicked off by the first-generation model in 1992, the Lancer Evolution XI is set to offer “supercar-beating acceleration together with the choice of either traditional four-door saloon or five-door hatchback bodystyles,” according to Autocar, which cites Japanese-based sources. The newcomer will reportedly share elements of its drivetrain with the next-generation Renault Megane RS, using a turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a dual-clutch gearbox and an advanced Mitsubishi-developed S-AWC four-wheel drive system. Presently, the Megane RS engine makes 224kW and 420Nm in its most powerful Trophy-R trim similar outputs to the 226kW/414Nm Evolution X that was retired in 2015. However, the possible addition of electronic boosting in a 48V mild-hybrid system being developed for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is likely to increase its reserves,” the article claims. The 11th generation of the four-wheel-drive Lancer Evolution has been conceived to sit on the CMF-C/D F4 platform developed within Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi. The Evolution’s revival is reportedly part of Mitsubishi chairman Osamu Masuko’s plans to restore the Japanese car-maker’s famous performance status. Seventy-year-old Masuko is set to relinquish his position as Mitsubishi chief executive to Takao Kato. However, the Mitsubishi veteran will continue to lead the company in the position of chairman. Previous plans by Masuko to develop a successor to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X were placed on hold following heavy losses at the company and its subsequent purchase by Nissan in 2016.

https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-news/mitsubishi-triton-2019-revealed-71824 Mitsubishi has ripped the covers from its facelifted Triton that is set to hit Australian showrooms in January 2019, with the updated pick-up ushering in a fresh front-end design, more active safety features and a new six-speed automatic transmission. The biggest change for the updated Triton is the new ‘Dynamic Shield’ front fascia that incorporates higher-set slimline headlights, a revised lower bumper, more sculpted bonnet and an updated grille with chrome flourishes. This design theme is found on most of Mitsubishi’s SUV models including the ASX, Eclipse Cross, Outlander and the related Pajero Sport. Mitsubishi says the front end “uses a horizontal/vertical motif and beefier chrome parts to give a sense of powerful rigidity in a design that echoes the ‘Engineered beyond Tough’ development concept.” Australian pricing and specification are still yet to be announced, but higher-spec variants gain bi-functional LED headlights, and the foglights have also been raised to protect the lighting elements from stone chips and high-water crossings, according to Mitsubishi. The rear bumper has been streamlined and is now integrated into the bodywork, and the bed sides and tail-lights have been restyled. There are fewer changes inside the new Triton, but it gains silver detailing and soft-touch materials. It also features a double-stitched finish on the front seat armrest, knee pads, console lid, brake lever and shifter. The door trims are now slightly thicker than the outgoing model. Second-row occupants now have access to a USB outlet and a roof-mounted air vent with four levels of airflow adjustment, while trays have been fitted around the centre console for smartphone or tablet stowage. Mitsubishi has increased the Thai-built Triton’s rigidity and added more sound-proofing and noise- and vibration-absorbing materials to improve cabin noise levels. The Japanese carmaker has increased available safety systems, which includes the addition of a camera- and radar-based front collision mitigation system with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert and ‘Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation’ that helps prevent unintended motion. A surround-view 'Multi-Around Monitor' will be offered as an option, at least in some international markets, while front and rear parking sensors will be offered and a reversing camera will carry over. Mitsubishi’s on-the-fly 'Easy Select' 4WD system with four modes including rear-drive, four-wheel-drive, and high- and low-range 4WD will also carry over from the previous model. When switched to all-wheel drive mode, the Triton now features an 'Off-Road Mode' that allows specific terrain selection between Gravel, Mud/Snow, Sand and Rock settings for improved control. The Triton is now fitted with hill descent control which operates at speeds up to 20km/h in 4WD modes. The suspension system mostly carries over, namely a double wishbone front and leaf spring rear set-up, but Mitsubishi says it has tweaked it to improve comfort, largely due to to bigger rear dampers. On overseas models fitted with 18-inch wheels, the brakes have been upgraded and now use larger ventilated discs with two-piston calipers. Powered by the carryover 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, the new Triton produces its peak 133kW of power at 3500rpm and maximum 430Nm of torque from 2500rpm. A 2.4-litrepetrol engine is still available. While the facelifted Triton is offered with a carryover six-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission, a new six-ratio self-shifter with a Sport mode will also be offered in the new version. The new Triton is offered in four new colours – 'White Diamond', 'Graphite Grey', 'Passion Orange' and red – while white, 'Silver Metallic', 'Black Mica', 'Blue Metallic' and 'Brown Metallic' carry over.

Just took over a used Lancer GLX sport (Auto) (2007) version. Mileage is around 65K. Any thing i should take note of ? Like change timing belt ? and what are the thing in the engine i need to take note of ? BTW, what the difference between GLX sport and GLX ?

Wonder why SG doesn't have Mitsubishi Eclipse ? Price should be close to that of a Hyundai Coupe (Tuscani). Car may not be great in terms of engine specs & power. But the body design sure looks beautiful.... Currently in 4th Gen. 5th Gen coming out next year. Looks 10x better than Lancer EX.... Looks better than any EVO (my opinion only hor....) Maybe they should keep that chasis and throw in the EVO system.... MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE 4th GEN 2005-2008

Hi, I have test drive a Colt today and found that handling is abit strange. Is it normal that the steering doesn't roll back immediately after making a turn? It doesn't even align back with the slightest turn. Any Colt owners out there care to comment on this?

Although I am not looking to pay peanuts but I also dun wanna kenna chop like by C&C. Just a good honest workshop who knows the CVT Colt Turbo well. Cheers

Helping my father make a decision on his next car. He’s currently driving a Fortuner in its last yr of COE, and would like a 7 seater SUV as replacement. Visited the show rooms last wkend to look see, so considering between these two models: Outlander $129k Sorento SX Diesel ~ $155k (SE quote) He’s the type to use the car up to the 9-10yr mark before changing. Sorento OMV is 33k, PARF is about 4.7k more than outlander. Travels >30k km a yr, so calculated the savings of diesel over the petrol over 10yrs, together with the PARF difference, it will eventually add up to balance the car price as well as road tax difference. So kinda leaning towards the Sorento. Hence would need some input regarding both models and which would you pick over. Are they any hidden cost or details that may help tip the outlander to be of better value or the deciding factor? maintenance, would turbo diesel engine require more maintenance in the long run vs 2.4 NA Engine? Servicing cost wise, are they about the same? What about parts replacement, Kor vs jap parts cheaper? Reliability? Would assume both are equally as good? Is it easy to find Diesel Euro V in Malaysia? (He travels to JB quite frequently, Penang Ipoh maybe once or twice a yr) Many thanks for any input or views.
