  3. Don’t get too worried or excited. This thread is about Alternate Way of Automotive Review & Evaluation. Subscription and contribution to this thread are welcome, but with strings attached (pun intended). And dear moderators, this is not just another TKR thread, as it is closely related to cars. We have seen / read many various types of car review, whereby chunks of numbers are shown, in attempt to convince potential buyers on how big or spacious the car is. But as a layman, most will have difficulty trying to visualize what these figures meant to them and their occupants. And not to forget we might not have the slightest idea how to maximize the use of space within our expensive ride… … This thread shall cover rides as small as a Kei car, to large people mover. Here are few examples, and you may like to make a guess of the model name, Ahem err, I am referring to the CAR model name… Which kei car has a boot that can accommodate a person in it? Which Mazda model has such a tiny boot? Which sedan has such a spacious rear seats? Which conti has such flat floor boot? Which SUV allow such easy access to the driver seat? Which Toyota model has such a nice looking interior? Which hybrid model has such a short bonnet? Which MPV still have such user-unfriendly B-pillar? For those that wonder what to expect, see some example in these posts I made earlier: Honda Odyssey http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2700646-7-seater-mpv/?p=5864291 Honda Jade http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2700646-7-seater-mpv/?p=5866602 Alphard & Stepwgn http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2700646-7-seater-mpv/?p=5868342

  6. Hi guys, not an expert in car entertainment system. Would any kind soul please advice which Pioneer model has steering wheel control function capability? Not looking for super high end ones. Only a unit that can allow me to connect to my reverse camera and let me connect to my IPHONE 5 and listen to music will do. Thanks a million.
  7. This thread arises of a discussion initiate in the car/lifestyle section. However, some very interesting points came up as to how Singapore properties should be considered. The emphasis is deliberate as the model only works for Singapore. There are a lot of property gurus here, so please ignore this un-sophisticated newbie who is just venturing into property and trying to justify his purchases. Fundamental assumption : Singapore will continue to exist as a nation or if not, a quasi nation with independence and that the calibre of national leadership remain high. Let with with an analogy from Singapore/Malaya history; Rubber planting. As all Singaporean students knows from their history books, rubber tree takes 5 - 7 years to mature. So, any businessman intending to venture into this industry has to 1. Buy the land 2. Clear the land 3. Plant the cuttings and continue to care for the younglings These are the years where there are negative profits as the businessman has to continue to pour money into his investment with no guarantee on returns (storm blows down estate, commodity prices collapse, disease toll on trees, etc). However, if the plantation make it through and extraction starts, profits will start to flow in and can continue to flow for another 25 years or more. Also, the rubber estate itself also gain value as it could be sold to buyers with a risk premium for taking on the early year risk. One thing that a number of people keep telling me is rental margins and so on... but they always left me scratching my head, the time horizon they use is very short. Like rubber planting, buying property for me is for the long haul with time horizon of 30 - 40 years or more. Analogous 1. Buy the property 2. Do interior finishing 3. Continue to care for the property These are the years where profits may be negative (if you cannot find a tenant) as the investors has to pour money into the investment. However, once the mortgage is paid off, profits will start to flow in and continue to flow as long as you own that property. That is not in addition to capital appreciation if you sell off the property. So, the total cost and total profit that can be taken from the property over a time horizon of 30 - 40 years is actually more important then short term rental margins gained while the mortgage is still in force.

  15. news just out . . . . http://www.thesundaily.my/news/1109095 KUALA LUMPUR: Police said Thursday they had arrested seven people in connection with the murder of an Estonian model whose body was found on a resort island. Freelance model Regina Soosalu's body was discovered on a beach on Rawa island off the east coast last week. She was initially believed to have drowned - but police said on Wednesday they found wounds on her body and were investigating the case as murder. Johor Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Hasnan Hassan told AFP seven people had been arrested so far for questioning over her death but declined to comment further. Faris Waris of Tangerine Models said his agency had worked with Soosalu, who was in her 20s and had been in Malaysia on and off for about three years. "She is one of the top freelance models in the country. We are shocked," he told AFP. Her boyfriend, with whom she had travelled to the island, is a member of the Johor royalty. Police are also investigating the death of a British tourist whose body was found last month on Tioman island, after he went missing on a jungle hike.
  16. http://metro.co.uk/2014/07/22/meet-amazon-amanda-the-plus-size-model-who-sits-on-men-for-money-4806258/ Meet Amazon Amanda, the plus-size model who sits on men for money Alison Lynch Tuesday 22 Jul 2014 12:12 pm 115 shares Share on FacebookShare on Twitter Amanda is seen here wrestling with client Sergio (Picture: Barcroft)Good work if you can get it. Amazon Amanda (real name Amanda Soule) is, by any stretch of the imagination, a larger-than-life presence. The 38-year-old weighs 20 stone, is a statuesque 6ft 3ins in height and boasts a 44DD bust, making her a huge hit with guys who enjoy being sat on, squashed, carried, and, yes, wrestled by super-sized, Amazonian woman. After growing too big to be a mainstream model, Amanda discovered a whole subculture where she could earn money just by sitting down all day – on men, who then paid her for the privilege. Amanda often towers over her diminutive clients who like to be carried, lifted and sometimes sat on (Picture: Barcroft)Yep, she makes a living out of making men feel small. Las Vegas-based Amanda, who insists nothing sexual takes place between her and her clients, has over 6000 fans on Twitter and describes herself as ‘Amazon by height, BBW by size and goddess by nature’, according to The Mirror. She tends to tower over her diminutive clients. Despite a largely open-door policy, Amanda admits she did once have to turn down a terminally-ill client for fear she would squash him to death. LOL

  18. You can probably feel that Lexus is keen to shake off that monotonous image that it has been stuck with all these years, when its official promo video (below) for its new RC F Coupe has an attractive model starring in it. This sexy lady in question is none other than Lisalla Montenegro, who also happens to be a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. Not that the RC F coupe isn’t hot enough. With more than 450bhp and more than 520Nm of torque from its new 5.0-litre V8 engine, it is Lexus’s most powerful V8 engine ever produced. Expect a nice soundtrack coming out of its exhaust while blasting on towards its top speed of more than 250km/h. We can’t wait for it to do battle with its rival, the upcoming BMW M4. http://dai.ly/x1cv2xb And we thought the guys would want a few more photos of Lisalla Montenegro too...
  19. Is disc rotor universal? As long as the hole and diameter match? For example, 5 x 100 296mm can be used for any make and model which is using the same spec?
  20. "You talking to me? Are you talking to me?" All right, so DeNiro probably isn't the first thing you thought of when you saw the image above, but the gent pictured is the real, gritty thing - a New York City taxi driver. Photographers Philip Kirkman and Shannon McLaughlin snapped enough photos of some game NYC yellow cab drivers to create a 2014 calendar that is unintentionally irresistible in ways we can't begin to capture in words. This calendar truly deserves the synonym menology, and if you're quick with your order you might be able to get it in time for Christmas. Priced at US$14.99, all the net proceeds will be donated to NYC's University Settlement that aids working immigrants and low-income families. No, it's not quite Scorsese, but this isn't something you want to miss, so have a gander through the gallery. How else will you know when you're being sped through Midtown by Mr. March?
