  1. Safety Moment is a tool, used by some companies, to maintain a high level of awareness towards Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) issues, often in relation to the company operations. It involve the sharing of an EHS topic, usually by safety representative within the team, prior to the start of a work shift and/or meeting. To make it effective, such briefing / discussion are kept short and sharp (typically lasting just 1 - 3 minutes), with the aim of recognizing hazards and risks, reinforcing the importance of health and safety, and get everyone gearing towards a positive safety culture. I think it will be useful for MCF to have one, and let me start the ball rolling. Topic for today: Do not leave the engine of your vehicle running when it is stationary In accordance to section 21 of Environmental Protection and Management (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations, vehicle driver shall stop the engine, when the vehicle is stationary for reasons other than traffic conditions. Failing to do so shall constitute to an offence under the said regulations. While it might look like the authority (NEA) is finding fault with motorist, but in reality, leaving the engine on for an extended period have the following impact: 1) Polluting the environment (running engine emit harmful pollutants such as Hydrocarbons, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrogen Oxides, as well as Particulate Matter) 2) Create health issue for other road users and general public in the vicinity (prolong inhaling of pollutants stated above may have adverse health effect over an extended period of time) 3) Depleting natural resources (continuous burning of fuel) So please do our part, switch off the engine when waiting, to protect the environment and people around us.

Rims gone, under carriage damaged...... Aww.... sucks..... Worst of the Worst...... Someone actually called the ambulance and police...... WTF.... Ambulance came and ask me if I am OK. I was so embarrassed. Then TP came.... OMG..... Then ask me to report my own insurance etc and left. At least tree is ok, just some minor scratches on the bark, the bark still remain on the trunk, nothing damaged. Don't need to pay for the tree. Wonder if anyone from MCF saw the accident... [:(]
  7. Just a suggestion. Perhaps all parties can observe a moment of silence for Goh Meng Seng's brother at the start of their rallies today since today is the last day for the rallies. After all, he died while helping out during the campaign. I think it will send a good message to all, that despite the turmoil of the rallies, we still have not forgotten to remember our fallen Perhaps someone can suggest this to the respective parties?

  10. Joke on 3 Jews In China 3 friends name Oscar, Weil and Benjamin are Jews. It was their first visit to China and they were sitting in a Chinese restaurant in Shanghai. Oscar," asked Benjie, "Are there any Jews in China?" I don't know," Oscar replied. "Why don't we ask the waiter?" When the waiter came by, Benjie asked him, "Are there any Chinese Jews here in Shanghai?" "I don't know sir, let me ask," the waiter replied. So he went into the kitchen to ask then he returned in a few minutes and said, "No, sir. No Chinese Jews." "Are you sure?" Benjie asked. "I will check again, sir" the waiter replied And went back into the kitchen again. While he was still gone, Oscar said, "I cannot believe there are no Jews in China, our people are scattered everywhere." When the waiter returned he said, "Sir, no Chinese Jews." "Are you really sure?" Benjie asked again. "I cannot believe there are no Chinese Jews." "Sir, I asked everyone," the waiter replied exasperated. Sir to tell you the truth, we have: Orange Jews, Apple Jews, Tomato Jews Watermelon Jews and Carrot Jews, but no one ever hear of Chinese Jews! If you want, we have Chinese Tea.

Looking at Honda City, Toyota Vios, etc. Understand from the threads the new Vios is tomyam made a priced rather high close to the Altis. Btw, is the City still made in Jap? Or should I consider the Sunny, whose model seems quite dated and not made in Nippon oso? Any idea what are the going prices or trends in the markets for such lower end cars? ie new lower end models coming out etc? Thankks!

  17. Was checking out some info on the web about the new 1 Series and here's BM's opening shot about the 1-series - "Rarely has driving pleasure been so directly accessible" My response ? Yeah, unless your dealer's worried about "brand dilution" (which is really strange considering how many 3-series there are on the road these days )and, as good as it is, over-prices the Mini.... This car's probably one of the better cars that will never see the light of day here....
