  2. Hi Guys I just had my Swift on 31/8/07 and had clocked abt 7K so far. Alhough my servicing for 3 years are labour cost free, they are charging me $60 for mineral oil + filter and $95 for syntectic oil + filter. So I asked if I could bring my own instead, the person told me that they will charge me $20 for the labour fee. I am puzzled. Wasnt it supposed to be labour fee free?

  6. MUMBAI, Sept 9 - Three Indian state-run banks may be granted full banking licenses by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Indian government may reciprocate by giving the same status to three Singapore banks, the Economic Times said. State-Bank of India , the country's largest commercial bank, Bank of Baroda and Bank of India may be given the qualifying full banking licence, which would enable the banks to open more branches, the paper said. "We are told that SBI, BOI and BOB will be granted qualifying full banking status. That means we will grant the same status to three banks from Singapore to operate in India," a senior finance ministry official was quoted by the paper as saying. DBS Group , Oversea Chinese Banking Corp and United Overseas Bank are among the banks which have applied for a full banking licence in India, the paper said.
  7. Dear all, Quite a long time ago, after watching those movies like SwordFish, Entrapment, etc .... I got one question in mind. For our deposit with the banks .... with the calculation, let's say the interest payable to us is $53.3824384743. What is reflected on our statement is $53.38 only (if I assumed correctly). So my question is .... where does the $0.0024384743 goes to? Assuming there are 10,000,000 such balances per day .... the amount would be $24,384.743/day that is "left over". Multiply that by 30 days = $731,542.29/mth Multiply that by 12 months = $8,778,507.48/yr!! So can anyone tell me ... where does all this "balances" goes to?

  19. Just wondering, cos I just realised ES100 and 326 are made in Japan. And it seems like the price is not bad too considering the performance. Any comments on these 2 tyres? In terms of grip and response. For normal daily driving and 0-100km/h sprinting. I am on DIREZZA now. Looking for around the range of $90-105 per tyre. 15 inch size.
  20. Hi there, Do you know of any value for money performance tyres? Reasonable price with good performance regardless of brand? Regards,
  21. I will be getting the Cefiro next week. It comes with the Kenwood 2din 4070 and 10 disk cd/vcd changer. I didn't quite like the look of the HU which I think just doesn't match the Cefiro interior. From what I have read in the forums around here, Kenwood SQ isn't much to talk about. The SE is wiling to offer me $500 if I don't take the Kenwood. Someone mention that the $500 is much too low. On the other hand, I may not like the Kenwood enough to keep it and I may get even less money later on if I trade in. Any suggestions on my next course of action? If I take the $500, how much more do I need to top up to get a decent set. I am more pro SQ. The factory speakers may have to go too eventually....And my boss said go for the DVD changer instead...
  22. Hey guys, Think my car's up for next servicing, coming near 20K already. Is it time for servicing? If it is any centres to recommend cos my three free servicing already over. Cheers.
  23. please read today's "the sunday times". the car dealers make big money when they sell each car. especially Toyota cars. even the "Vios" also get Gross profit $14k. No wonder so samll market in singpore, but has so many car dealers.
  24. As some of you guys would've already known by now... I took over my car with only 1 key... Asked Dennis at Servo to get me 1... he never got round to doing it Anyway... got fed up... Went to CA and ordered, had to pay first, if not they won't order. Thought fine... reasonable... how wrong can it get? $150 Placed my order on 6th Oct. The product manager called to inform me the key arrived today. After I went to CA several times. Went down today, Sammo took the car out to Cars N Cars workshop. Waited for about half an hour to 45 mins. My car finally came back after God knows how long hahaha... (like I mentioned... around 30 to 45mins?) Sammo and the other malay guy then explained to me. Cannot be done. Got problem. And on top of that, no refund. What the hell?! They said they followed the procedure/guidelines/SOP to take down my chassis number from my instrument cluster using their VAG Tool (which has the immo. code too) and they just needed that to send to Skoda in Czech Republic to fabricate my key. Turns out... when the key was cut nicely and sent over here... The key couldn't even open my door. Here's the reason. CA blamed that my instrument cluster (the speedo console) has been tampered with or changed previously. That instrument cluster is currently "attached" to another chassis number which belongs to another Octavia. Sammo went on to explain that this could be a case of fraud. The only reason he could think of was that the speedo was swapped for another with a lower mileage when the car was sold to me. He mentioned that places like Servo were equipped to perform such a thing. Therefore, my key cannot work. And even if I gave them my chassis number and the current so called swapped instrument cluster, it might not work. PLUS it will cost me another $200. No fault of theirs. I can't do a thing. I get no refund either. Suggested solution? Go to Turf City to see if my keys can be done there. $150 gone down the drain. I am not a happy man I contacted the ex-owner of my ride who of cos denied swapping the instrument cluster (of cos)...he went on to mention that that thing alone costs $2k. Why on earth would he do that? He then blamed former dealer JTA of screwing the car up. So now my ride is suppose to be an Elegance with a Classic/Ambiente speedo. Not that it makes any difference to me. But just what I was told. and oh... ya... I can't dupe my key Guess I'll pay Turf City a visit to see if they can cut the key and hopefully I can get it programmed there or at CA
