  4. In light of recent recall issues faced by their fellow competitors, Mazda Motor Singapore has taken a step forward to protect their brand. The car dealer has enlarged its suite of services to include Mazda's parallel-imported cars under its service wing. Singapore owners of parallel-imported Mazdas in stock condition can now service and repair their vehicles at Mazda Service Centres at Alexandra Road and MacPherson Road. Owners of parallel-imported Mazdas can now give their cars the real Mazda treatment at the two service centres. The centres are equipped with Mazda Modular diagnostic systems. Mazda Corporation, Japan, also provides direct technical support. With bi-monthly technical data and updates from its headquarters in Japan, Mazda Motor Singapore can take preventive recommendations and correction actions to protect every vehicle. The distributor also sends their workshop managers on special technical training sessions organised by Mazda Corporation, Japan for each new model launched to guarantee a detailed understanding of each of the entire model range. With the common misunderstanding that servicing at a distributor tends to be more expensive than independent workshops, the distributor assures that in reality, their maintenance packages are priced very competitively. To provide owners with a better peace of mind, all repairs by Mazda Motor Singapore are warranted for 6 months or 6000km*, a benefit you'll not get from an independent workshop. To book a service appointment, please visit www.mazda.com.sg or call 6395 8833 or 6603 6128. Or, take your Mazda down to any of our service centres at 315 Alexandra Road or 1 Kampong Ampat (Off MacPherson Road). *Whichever comes first. Warranty covers the specific repair work completed by Mazda Motor (S) Pte Ltd.

  6. Business Times - 02 Mar 2010 Toyota to announce March incentives in US DETROIT - Toyota Motor Corp will roll out an aggressive incentive programme for US consumers in March, including zero-percent financing for five years and a two-year free maintenance plan, a source briefed on the matter said on Monday. The new incentives, which will start Tuesday and run through March, come as the world's biggest automaker attempts to connect with US consumers after a storm of safety recalls that have damaged its reputation and cut into sales. Toyota will offer zero-per cent financing for 60 months on some 2010 model year vehicles, including its most popular Camry and Corolla sedans and other vehicles involved in the recalls that involved sticky accelerator pedals, the source told Reuters. Returning Toyota customers will also receive a complimentary two-year 'Toyota Auto Care Premium Package' that includes oil changes and other maintenance services, in addition to cash rebates, the source said. The person declined to be identified because the information has yet to be announced by Toyota. A Toyota spokeswoman said the company planned to announce a new incentive program when it releases its US sales figures for February on Tuesday. She declined to comment on the specifics. -- REUTERS Copyright

  16. Just copied and paste.... topic for discussion as this affects all of us who owns a car Government mulls introduction of no-fault motor insurance By May Wong, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 18 August 2009 2357 hrs SINGAPORE : The government is considering whether to introduce a no-fault motor insurance regime in Singapore. MP for Aljunied GRC, Yeo Guat Kwang, had asked if the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is satisfied with the current motor insurance compensation scheme under the current law. In a written reply, MAS Chairman and Senior Minister, Goh Chok Tong, said the country does not have a statutory motor insurance compensation regime for accidents. But the law does require a motorist to buy compulsory third-party insurance. So if a person has suffered from the negligence of another in a motor accident, that person can seek recourse from the negligent party for compensation. MAS said it is aware of the increase in insurance claims and rise in motor insurance premiums, so it will work with relevant government agencies and stakeholders to study this issue carefully. - CNA /ls
