  1. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/trial-under-way-to-get-mpvs-to-use-bus-lanes-at-tuas-checkpoint new year, starting new rules, wonder if this is good or not. So many pros and cons
  2. This is not an April Fool joke! Let see how this full size MPV will fare against the Lexus LM and Mercedes EQV. What started off as a wild rumor at the beginning of the year will become a reality in a matter of months. Yes, Volvo is preparing to launch its first-ever MPV, which it describes as being a "Scandinavian living room on the move." Known as the EM90, the Swedish family hauler "creates room for your life" and will break cover on November 12 when the order books will open in China, the home of parent company Geely. Instead of a product direct from the R&D centre of the Swedish brand, the EM90 is likely to be based on the Zeekr 009, a wild-looking minivan from one of Geely's many brands.
  3. The MPV look gigantic in size (5 mm shy of 5 m from end to end), and finally available in 2.4L Turbo, producing a healthy 275 horsepower and 430 NM. Toyota has unveiled the fourth-generation Alphard alongside the Vellfire. These follow the recently introduced posh Lexus LM, a mechanically related vehicle based on the same TNGA-K platform. The twin are the first Toyota models to have steps on both left and right sliding doors, with a step emerging about 220 millimeters above ground. The boxy minivans are 4995 mm long and share a massive wheelbase stretching at 3000 mm. Both are 1850 mm wide while height depends on the model and trim level, either 1935 mm or 1945 mm. The Alphard and Vellfire can seat up to six people in a 2+2+2 layout with second-row captain's chairs. There's now an extra 5 mm between the first two rows and an additional 10 mm between the second and third rows. Both can be had with front- or all-wheel drive as well as a hybrid powertrain, with a plug-in hybrid setup to be added later. The most powerful of the bunch is a turbocharged 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine available in the Vellfire. "Tuned to deliver a sporty sound," it makes 275 hp (205 kilowatts) and 430 Newton-meters of torque. Customers can also pick a hybrid based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with a combined output of 250 hp (184 kW). Lesser Alphard models have a non-electrified, naturally aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder unit with 180 hp (134 kW) and 235 NM. Depending on the engine, the minivans come with a CVT, an e-CVT, or an eight-speed automatic.
  4. The Espace has lost it way. Sorry but this is the ugliest Espace in its 30 year history... nothing but a bloated Kadjar / Koleos. Now entering its sixth generation, it's basically abandoning all minivan cues. Essentially, it's a long-wheelbase version of the Austral compact crossover with some minor changes to the design. While cars tend to grow in size and add weight, the new Espace bucks the trend since it's 140 mm shorter and 215 kg lighter than the minivan it replaces. It also rides 32 mm lower and has a more spacious third row, but you can have it with only five seats as well. This midsize SUV come with a turbocharged 1.3-liter gasoline engine as a full hybrid with a pair of electric motors. The three-cylinder unit is good for 131 hp and 205 Nm of torque while the main electric motor is rated at 68 hp and 205 Nm. The second e-motor works as the starter generator with 25 hp and 50 Nm. Combined, Renault says the driver has access to 199 hp.
  5. The karma in this one was instantaneous. It hit like a taxi, in fact. What happened? An MPV tried to run a red light just in front of Lau Pa Sat at Raffles Quay. At this time, a taxi was moving forward as the green light had just come on for its lane. There was no visible attempt at braking on the MPV’s side. This resulted in a T-bone as the taxi was perfectly positioned to hit the side of the MPV as it was moving, causing it to lose stability and flip to its side. I’m also suspecting that it’s a variant of a Toyota Alphard because the front grille looks remarkably similar, but the fog lights are throwing me off. I also like how in the video the other cars stopped for a bit to take in the crash, and then moved on with their day and carried on lol. Online chatter There’s no sympathy for the speeding MPV of course. Some people were concerned for the taxi driver and the road. Writer’s thoughts: Besides that, do drive safely everyone. Better to be late than risk your health or a few thousand in damages (if you're lucky). ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 6. While it look more like a facelift of the 5th gen Serena (C27), this actually a brand new model from Nissan, and it is now available in 3 drive train options: petrol only, petrol hybrid and ePower (EV). The gasoline version uses a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with 150 horsepower (110 kilowatts) and 200 Newton-meters of torque offered with or without all-wheel drive and a CVT. There's also a hybrid e-Power model (2WD only) with a new and quieter 1.4-liter engine producing 98 hp (72 kW) and 123 Nm. Combined with the electric motor, the total system output is 163 hp (120 kW) and 315 Nm.
  7. I finally realized that fatherhood had taken over my life. It’s the cycle of life that I thought I’ll never be in. Happy being a Bachelor for more then 40 years till I met my wife. I thought , sure, we can still survive with a Coupé . Then came baby 1 and we changed to a five door hatchback ( Have your tried putting a baby in the back seat of a Coupé, I’ll spent more $ after to see the chiropractor for my back). But when baby 2 came along, suddenly with two child seats at the back , there is no room left to put anyone else, the maid can’t even fit in between. There are days when we have to go out with the elders. (luckily we only have two of them in singapore). Don’t know where to fit if there are all 4 and 2 kids and my wife and me. I need a V class Mercedes or a Toyota HiAce van for that. I know many people will say “Hey, we can manage to squeeze up to 8 in a SUV or MPV”. They can sit on laps and the adults can sit “one in one out” seating positions. First it’s so uncomfortable, after even a 30mins drive . As an adult, I can’t seem to feel my legs if I’m in the middle or 3rd row after the squeeze. Good luck trying to ask two 80 year olds to do that, you will never hear the end of it. Secondly, legally you are only supposed to have the right amount of people per seat belt. So our quest was simple, or so we thought… My wife and my needs were simple. 1) Safety first for the kids. (Who cares about looks😂 that is when Parenthood hits) 2) Comfort for everyone in the car. 3) Have enough booth space at the back to at least put 1 stroller with all rows of seats up. 4) Reasonable size and height that can go into most car parks and easy to drive. ( if it’s huge, I’m sure someone will ding the car on the first day of driving it) 5) As cheap as possible with all those needs. well, this is abit of an option point. Good to have , but with COE at this price, it’s a tall order. Our little adventure started one sunny Monday morning. We have mondays off (lucky us)😝. We visited, I can’t remember how and dealership and Parallel importers, second hand car dealers too. To make it short, We did not see the Rolls-Royce , Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley , Porsche,Aston Martin ,etc… So after seeing a lot of brands. I can tell you we learned a lot. As our priority was safety first for the kids. They are at 7 months and 2.5 years old of me writing this . They both need a properly child care seats . The youngest one needs a back facing type as he has not fully developed his core and neck muscles to fit front facing child seats. So we needed seats that have Isofix features, ( I’m not going back to the dark ages especially when it comes to the safety of our kids) if you know, most 7-8 seats have 3 rows of seats. And there are two types of configurations. The ones with the opening in the middle of the 2nd row ( eg: Toyota Alphard) and the ones without the opening. And if you decide to choose the ones which have middle opening to walk to the 3rd row. The easy part is that you don’t really need to move anything or seats, You just open the doors and the walk into the car and go to the back from the middle aisle. It’s not very wide, but an adult can squeeze through. Here comes the question. Generally , the most comfortable and expensive seats are the 2nds rows, with the leg and arm rest and some even comes with massage options. Good points to score points with the elderly on the massage options. But no, most car makers don’t think this way, they don’t have isofix at the 3rd rows and they want you to put your kids in the 2nd row after you spend buckets loads of $ on those prized seats. How is my child going to enjoy the massage or leg rest when the child seat is a buffer between them. And I rather score points with my mother in law then make her climb into the 3rd row back seats😅. If you chose the other configuration without the middle opening at the 2nd row seats. You won’t be an able to get to the 3rd rows with two child seats fixed into the 2nd row seats. Maybe some cars can , but the gap is so small when you can’t fold the seats down to access the 3rd row seats. Only a few cars made it to our list because of the isofix at the 3rd row seats. Sad to say the popular Toyota Alphard didn’t made it , they don’t Isofix at the 3rd row, even the Volvo XC90 ( known for its safety features) doesn’t come with it at the 3rd rows, all Japanese brands don’t have it at all. and some other continental brands too, like Mercedes MLB20, BMW 218GT, Citroen, Peugeot, Alfa, Fiat, Skoda and Korean brand Hyundai and Chinese BYD M3e both didn’t have IsoFix at the 3rd row too. Audi and Renault didn’t have anything in their show room at Leng Kee as of now. If you are still with me after my long rant, here is our list of cars that made it. 😂. Kia Carnival Opel Zafira E Life Seat Alhambra Volkswagen Sharan (The VW Touran didn’t make it as it has no booth space for my stroller after all 7 seats are up) With every list there can finally only be one left. How we came to the one was pretty easy. Kia carnival is huge at 5115mm long. Parking it is going to be a challenge at older carparks and I’m sure one of us will ding it. Also the engine is a diesel 2.2L and our government tax on diesel is not something we want to consider. Next off the list was the Opel Zafira E Life. With a range of only 230 km range after a electric charge, going up north for a family holiday is going to be a challenge. The two horse ( Alhambra and Sharan) race to the last comes built from the same factory in Portugal, and they are under the umbrella of Volkswagen Group. Volkswagen “The people’s car “ in the English and kudos to them for designing this for the normal people in mind, it is the perfect made for the family like mine, two or more young kids with elder parents. They have integrated child seats for those with kids from 3-12. Saves you spending more money for buying boaster seats for the older kids or when your young kids gets older. Have enough space to put the stroller at the back with all 7 seats up. Not as easy to get to the 3rd row back seats as the ones with middle aisle configuration. But it’s not hard either to get to the back with its sliding door and reasonable gap ( I’m 1.78m and I could climb in with easy). Yea I have two kids, and “IF” (please note on the word “IF”) I decide placed both the kids in the 2nd middle row, just to take the piss out of my in-laws…😅 I can put one in the middle and one to the side of the 2nd row (because they are all 3 individual seats in the 2nd row and they all have Isofix on them), while the rest of the adults can still go to the back from the other side. If when my wife is willing to give us another bundle of joy or the agent of Chaos depending on the kids mood. But she said, her factory is close. it really spacious in the middle row, I can have three adults sitting side by side without feeling squeezed not like my BMW 216AT back row seats. But I would like my elders to be comfortable, so putting the youngest in the middle seat on the 2nd row and having two elderly flanking that child and have my helper at the back with the older child works best for us. But there can only one car “to rule them all”. we went with the Sharan based on the badge the power of the engine. Well first it’s a VW, and I was told that the whole singapore market for Seat’s last years new car sales was less then 100 units, somehow no one’s wants a Seat, I’m not sure if this report is true, but yes I don’t see a lot of Seats on the road compared to VW. So resale for the Seat is not ideal. The Engine for the Seat Alhambra is a 1.4 and the VW Sharan a 2.0, they are both turbocharged and power is more then 110kw and hence they fall into category “B” for the COE. The Sharan has all the extras and nicer interior, like the sun roof, yes it’s nice to have but not a need. The difference with its current discount on both cars in $ was not significant large. (Out goes point 5 on our list) But in return was neutralized by the better resale value and VW brand, but the one that closed the deal for me was being able to have the same engine (EA888) as the Golf GTI with a 7.8 seconds to 100km, making my dreams of me going back to being the young bachelor I was at heart. 😎 Even though my wife thinks I’m already an old uncle in my late 40’s 😆. I still want to put the windows down , have the sun roof opened and blast my music from Gold 90.5 (boomer station) and feel the wind in my face while I hand surf with my arms hanging out the door ledge. Hey , you are never to old to still be an young Ah Beng at heart. Your sincerely, Ctaiwee
  8. https://www.sgcarmart.com/news/events_features.php?AID=4149 Firstly, I came across this article when I was trying to search on family cars so congrats to Julian Kho, Editor of SGCM for the third kid on the way! And congratulations for selling your car off at a favourable market situation for used car owners. Such a bittersweet feeling to have to part with one's car in the name of family and kids but this is really the inevitable. I'll never be able to understand what it means to sacrifice one's happiness for others because it's always been about me, myself and I. How can one go from sports car to family hauler MPVs? But that's exactly why you see Honda Streams and Odysseys with aggressive exterior styling, loud exhausts and erm... baby seats 🥶 Now back to my thread. And it so happened that a friend has been asking me for family car recommendations because I work at sgCarMart. I don't! A selfish younger me would say, just buy according to the number of seats you need or stop procreating. But the older me started surfing around sgCarMart for potential choices around the 170K budget for 5 + ad-hoc 2 pax lol. Other than the obvious MPV route, could one go for a wagon when planning for the family? I want to say the Skoda Octavia Combi looks really good but versus the traditional MPVs, you lose out on seating capacity and comfort. The next on my mind? The CX-8. Spacious, luxurious, seats either 6 or 7 pax in comfort. And then I continued searching and got carried away and came across so many other options especially from the Parallel Importers but they all kinda look the same. And of course we need to have articles like this one here telling us exactly what we need want to hear, that MPVs are not boring. I think the Volkswagen Group of cars have some interesting offerings that you don't come across aplenty in other car brands like the integrated child seats or booster seats in the SEATs and the Volkswagens; perhaps Volvos and Citroens. I've also wondered what are the folding tables for? Do parents let kids eat in your car? 🥶 So parents, what are your concerns when shopping for a family car other than what your wallet can afford? Do you actively look out for the driving assistance, or luxury features like built-in baby seats or even lots of cubby holes to store diapers? 😅
  9. New Stepwagon will be launched in 2022 https://www.honda.co.jp/STEPWGN/new/?from=newslink_text&fbclid=IwAR3zhjuUb2FP8V1MhdCuTFhRuy-EIHT7v7DnpcTSEzdcZP5hT5ZX5xRvkTg
  10. They look huge, getting closer to Alphard and Vellfire. The twin will be unveiled in Japan in Jan 2022. Stay tuned.
  11. After a long hiatus, a new compact / mid size MPV is coming from Kia finally, which will be officially unveiled in another 10 days time. This shall be a strong challenger to the BMW 2GT, Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer, Honda Freed, Peugoet 5008, Renault Grand Scenic, Toyota Sienta and VW Touran. Kia has officially announced the return of the Carens nameplate in a brand new minivan that will be unveiled on December 16. The teaser video published by the Korean automaker gives us a glimpse of the Carens which is rumored to share its underpinnings with the Seltos SUV. The fourth-generation Carens appears to adopt a more SUV-like appearance instead of the outdated one-box MPV silhouette of its predecessors. It also inherits Kia’s latest design language with thin LED headlights and full-width taillights similar to the ones on the new Sportage. The new Carens will likely be longer and taller than the Seltos in order to provide more interior space and practicality. The tall roofline will also allow for a third row of seats making it a seven-seater like its predecessor. After its world premiere on December 16, the model will roll out in India, follow by other markets at a later date.
  12. While it might not look huge in these photos, it is actually a full size MPV, measuring 4,950mm (L) x 1,850mm (W) x 1,734 mm (H) x 3,055mm (WB). This make it even larger than the JDM Honda Odyssey and VW Sharan. It will be available in China for now but likely will be sold in other part of the world later. Engine Specifications 1.5T => 167HP horsepower / 253Nm Torque 2.0T => 233HP horsepower / 353Nm Torque @Atrecord what is your take on this MPV?
  13. This is one vehicle we will never get in Singapore! so cool the perk of living in a big nature loving country! I will get one too if I am stuck in Melbourne for COVID-19! sold out till June 2021 😂 https://www.volkswagen.com.au/en/models/california.html

  15. In the past, family focused MPVs have gained a poor reputation for being boring and unexciting. Nowadays, that's hardly the case. In this day and age of SUVs, it's easy to forget that less than 10 years ago, MPVs were all the rage, at least among buyers who needed a vehicle that was highly practical and functional, serving the needs of a family. Over the years, though, MPVs have gained something of a bad reputation. With their traditionally boxy design, hardy interiors and generally unexciting personality, MPVs tend to be thought of as somewhat 'boring'. However, that's not quite true anymore. 1. Sporty design These days, automotive design is definitely much more interesting and expressive than before. Even for MPVs, you nowadays find more sporty exterior designs that draw from hatchbacks and SUVs. The sleeker designs have generallty moved away from the boxy designs of the past. Additionally, chic detailing is also available, such as the new R-Line package available on the Volkswagen Touran. The bespoke R-Line body kit, 18-inch Marseille alloy wheels and black radiator grille creates a look that definitely echoes the Volkswagen Golf. 2. Family friendly Of course, all MPVs have to be family friendly. MPVs standout out for their overall functionality and adaptability to all situations, with seven seats for passengers, a large, configurable cabin with plenty of space, as well as a certain level of ruggedness to make the car 'kid-proof'. The Touran has plenty of family friendly features. The cabin can fit seven, or can be maximised for storage by folding both rear rows of seats down to create 1,857 litres of cargo space. The easy open tailgate function also allows handsfree access to the boot. The Touran also features foldable tables with an integrated cupholders on the backrest of the front seats, rear air-con controls, as well as individually adjustable second row seats, with a total travel of 200mm. 3. Safety first Safety is also paramount. As you'd expect from a modern car, any MPV today will come packed with safety features. In the Touran, you will find Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, Side Assist and Rear Traffic Alert. In addition, you will find an integrated child seat in the Touran R-Line. The outer seats have a seat cushion that folds upwards, which reveals a non-slip step for the child's feet. Fold-out side bolsters and side head restraints also provide additional side support for the child. As a result, you don't have to spend additional money on a slew of kid-friendly accessories for your car (and add to the clutter) - safety comes built in! As the new Volkswagen Touran R-Line proves, MPVs don't have to be dull, people carriers. Loaded with modern amenities and equipment, sporting a fresh and sharp design, while still delivering ample the practicality and functionality, the Touran easily dispels the myth that all MPVs are boring.
  16. Another facelift, for a 6 year old model... The sensor activated sliding door look interesting, and will be good if it work as intended.
  17. Travelling with seven or more people? The Maxus G10 is one of the few MPVs that does the job of moving everyone comfortably. Cars come in all shapes and sizes, to fit each and every owner's needs. For most families, a normal sedan does the job just fine. And if you come from a bigger family or have friends you want to ferry around, an MPV works well, too. While there are MPVs, one that seats seven or more comfortably is hard to find. Plus, if you find yourself picking up guests from the airport, it might just mean their luggages might not fit when all seven seats are up. You'll need a bigger MPV. And when we mean big, we mean fitting seven people with ease. Travelling together safely and comfortably In our current climate, it is best to have your own form of transport, like a car. But for big families to get around, it can be a struggle. When the extended family comes along, perhaps it is easier to split everyone amongst two cars. But what if another car isn't an option, or there isn't another driver? Well, if your parents are more than happy to take a taxi, and your in-laws are cool with taking the bus - that might be a solution. But that might mean that not everyone will arrive at the same timing. It isn't just for families, but big groups of people too. So, what's the best way around this? The simple solution is getting an MPV. But many MPVs or even seven-seat SUVs don't do the job that well. Many MPVs have a third row that is small and tight, and are best suited for short journeys. Many will know how hard it is to squeeze people in the back when child seats are in place, too. And if you have children that are all grown up, the last row of seats just won't cut it for them. To avoid the grumpy faces of those relegated to the rear seats or taking other modes of transport, there is one car that'll do the job best. Step into the Maxus Here's one of very few, true nine-seater MPVs on the market today. The Maxus G10 is big for a purpose – to fit nine people safely and comfortably. With three rows of seating to fit nine people, it means your extended family can travel with you, too. With four plush captain seats at the back, along with a long and wide bench in the last row, it allows for easy access and is engineered to be comfortable for long journeys. There are enough amenities to challenge most living rooms, too. There's an entertainment screen, a full sunroof, USB charging ports are available in all three rows, and it even sports a full-size, three-pin power socket. And when it comes to hauling all the family's barang-barangs, just fold the rear seats, and the Maxus G10 swallows everything with ease. The seven-seater Maxus G10 offers over 2,500 litres of boot space even with all passengers seated comfortably. Easy driving If you're worried about it's size, well the Maxus G10 isn't a hard car to pilot. Thanks to its large windows and mirrors, it is an easy car to look out of and place on the road. Plus, with its 360-degree camera, parking is a smooth and seamless affair, too. And the Maxus is quick, too. With its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, it puts out a respectable 215bhp and 330Nm of torque. That means even when fully loaded, there are no issues getting the big Maxus up to speed. And on the topic of driving, the Maxus G10 is perhaps the only nine-seater on the market today that can be driven legally with a Class 3 licence. The ultimate people mover Moving big families has always been a challenge. Family time is important, so why should you compromise that because of the lack of space in your current ride? The full range of Maxus G10 MPVs include a nine-seater, a seven-seater, and also a wheelchair-friendly option, offering easier access for wheelchair users. The Maxus G10 isn't just able to do the job – it does it very well. It is comfortable, with more than enough space and grace to keep everyone happy and moving without a hitch. When it comes to moving people, nothing comes close to the Maxus range of MPVs. To find out more, head over to Maxus Singapore's official website, here.

The wide-opening sliding doors on both the left and right-hand sides of the vehicle as an example allow easy and comfortable access to the interior. Alongside conventional drive systems, there will be also a fully electric version. Mercedes-Benz Vans in the small van segment In the small van segment, Mercedes-Benz Vans has been represented by the commercially positioned Citan since 2012. In August last year, the Vans division announced a successor to the compact urban delivery van, together with a fully-electric variant. Based on this small van platform, two vehicles will be created: while the Mercedes-Benz Citan is a no-compromise vehicle tailored to the requirements of commercial customers, the Mercedes-Benz T-Class is primarily focused towards private customers. The T-Class and the Citan will be established in cooperation with Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi.
  19. This is not another normal SUV / MPV... You are looking at the first large size EV from Skoda, with RWD setup! Skoda hasn’t built a rear-wheel-drive vehicle since the early 1990s when the 105/120/125 series of rear-engined RWD cars was discontinued to make way for the Favorit with the engine in the front driving the front wheels. The Mladá Boleslav marque is returning to its roots, but with an electric twist as the Enyaq iV will eschew the combustion engine for an electric motor. Riding on the same MEB platform as the forthcoming VW ID.4, the Enyaq will be a follow-up to the appealing Vision iV concept introduced about a year ago at the Geneva Motor Show. While it won’t look as exciting as the showcar before it, the electric vehicle should have some extra pizzazz compared to the firm’s conventionally powered SUVs, such as the Karoq or Kodiaq. One thing I’d like to add is that while the concept had some coupe influences, the production car will be more in the spirit of a tall wagon.
  20. Is it a bird? Or is it a plane? This week we test Nissan's Serena e-POWER hybrid! The Serena e-POWER's wheels are connected only to an electric motor, but that motor is charged by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, so you never need to plug into a charging port! The Serena e-POWER is a series hybrid and what that means exactly is explained in the video. But let's say you couldn't care less about the drivetrain configuration, the Serena e-POWER is still mighty impressive with the high-utility from its tailgate! And of course, being an MPV, you'd expect the versatility of folding rear seats! Julian claims this is one of the best MPVs he's sat in thus far! Check out the intensity in his eyes, he must mean it. Join us to watch more about how this car performs on the road!
  21. Happy Labour Day, Singapore! Some of us are thinking of how to utilise our pay that just came in. Then, there are jokers like this Toyota Wish driver who blows it all in an instant (and more). Speeding on PIE A dashcam video of the said driver has gone viral and here are some takeaways after watching the video. No one drives a Wish to speed. It's a family MPV for goodness sake. Don't do stupid things with other people's car, much less a rental Here's the 47-second video taken from SG Road Vigilante The Wish loses control at the 0.09 mark of the video. Online chatter Wow. To the Toyota Wish driver, good luck paying for all the damages for a rental car.
  22. Am looking for some advice: We're going to Hokkaido next month, and are looking at renting a large MPV, so hope to get some tips and information on: 1) which MPV is good/best 2) any tips on driving in winter There will be 7 of us on the trip. 6 adults/children who are 1.7-1.8 m tall, and one 6-yo kid who needs a booster seat. There will also be quite a bit of luggage, tentatively 1-2 pcs 28", 3 pcs 24", 2 pcs 20" luggages. Looking at the options for MPVs, the larger ones are either Toyota Alphard or Nissan Elgrand, followed by the slightly smaller ones of Toyota Noah or Nissan Serena. Any bigger will be the Toyota Hiace van. Is there any possibility of accommodating all 7, plus the luggages in Alphard/Elgrand, or is it necessary to go for Hiace? I vaguely remember that @Heartlander had mentioned before renting Elgrand during a Japan trip, and also owned an Alphard before here? Care to share your experience please? Anyone else with knowledge/experience of these 2 - your opinion is welcome. If we shift the 3 rows of seats to be more 'forward', will the luggage/boot space behind 3rd row seat, be sufficient for the luggages that we have? Then on #2, driving in winter/snow, apart from going slow, and avoiding icy roads, what else should we look out for? Winter tyres are standard, and there's 4WD option for the vehicles. Thanks in advance.
