  1. this is a nice looking MPV...not sure if local Chryler AD will bring in.... https://youtu.be/rAYoDe6ea2M
  2. Couldn't find anyone posted before. Saw this Honda Elysion Prestige MPV at my house car park. 3500 cc & 6 pistons Very nice and as big as Toyota Alphard or Velfire. Wonder PI or AD ? https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oYUMqGYtDQ
  3. Hi all; just bought a toyota wish 2.0aa reg dat 2010 with 77k mileage. Engine sounds good.Pick up is good. However the fuel consumtion with eco mode on is at 9km/L. Is this normal? New eo;spark plug and atf fluid. Please advise which workshop is reliable for this kind if issue
  4. can't seem to find any writeup on this car.....but seems pretty popular with our malaysian neighbours...saw 2 new spanking units zipping on our sg roads liao anyone got more info on this car?
  5. The third generation Elgrand recently underwent a facelift, bringing a host of cosmetic changes and improvements. It also enters the large MPV market with a seven-seater variant. Versus its close rival the Toyota Alphard, which do you think is a better buy? http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=742
  6. Was toying with the idea of purchasing one 2nd hand. For Renault die hards, what are the common issues? Is servicing at Wearnes a bitch and cost an arm and a leg?
  7. Just wondering, how many Esquire drivers here ?
  8. Hi, Me looking for small to mid-MPV. Wish to get feedback for Sienta Dice 1.5l. Anyone driving this model? How's the drive and maintenance? Look like only one PI (i.e. M9) is selling. Any experience with them? Thanks a lot
  9. My uncle looking for a compact MPV for his family of 4 and on the rare occasions 6 person. He is currently driving Honda Stream which has been good for him for 10 years but it is due for scrap soon. He is hopping to get something cheaper in the running costs like fuel efficiency, lower road tax and lower depreciation and yet at the same time, something as powerful as his stream, and as reliable as his stream. He is hoping to look for a used one in the market that is about 3-4 years old. currently, i see the Toyota Wish as the best option as it fits almost all his criteria. his priority i guess should be reliability and running cost. his old stream clocked almost 400,000 km mileage due to the nature of his business. i did think of diesel powered MPVs since his mileage is high enough to have decent savings. the problem is that the diesel powered MPVs are continental which usually means higher maintenance costs which again will offset any fuel savings. hope you guys can chip in if there is any other option better than toyota wish.
  10. Amazing car, will give B class a fight http://youtu.be/13iKrsyI7WA Cant wait to see on our road
  11. Is this a new MPV model launched from Japan.
  12. Guys, my helper has problem washing the roof of my car (Estima) as she cannot reach it. I bought the anti-slip stool from IKEA (Those higher ones) but she wanted something higher. Anyone has recommendations? It has to be anti-slip as I also do not want her to slip. Thks.
  13. Hi all, For a family with husband/wife both working (drive only to & from work) & a maid taking care of 2 young children. During weekend, parents in law usually will get a ride from our car. A new mid size Sedan such as Camry or a full size MPV such as Odyssey will be a better option in terms of practicality, comfort, fuel consumption, costs such as depreciation, resale value, etc? Thank you.
  14. Checked out the Noah today at showroom. Likes:-- Tall interior headroom (compared with Wish etc) ie moving into 3rd row seats doesnt involve too much of hunching my back Decent space for 3rd row Body width not too large ie easy to manovoure in tide spaces Auto stop-start at red lights, auto slide rear doors Dislikes:- Boxy look (subjective) Somehow i feel it's based on Toyota commercial van platform but the PI denies it. Info:- The Toyota Noah is an eight-seater MPV with two rear sliding doors built by Toyota and sold only in Asia. A five-seater version without the third seat row is available (YY grade). Its predecessor was the Toyota LiteAce Noah. The Noah has a twin version named Toyota Voxy, with lower ground clearance. The Noah's 154 hp engine takes 9.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h (60 mph) up to a top speed of 175 km/h. It also has a smoother ride and better handling than the last generation Noah.[citation needed] First launched in 2001, it is positioned below the Estima and Alphard, and above the Sienta. Its main competitors are the Honda StepWGN and the Nissan Serena. This car was launched on December 11, 2012, in two equipment levels named G and V. This car was launched to fill the gap between the Alphard and Innova. The engine used is the 2.0 L 3ZR-FE petrol inline-four.[1]
  15. Been looking at this... Worth it to make the switch? Haven't seen the car in the flesh and planning to do so later... http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=416505&DL=1309 Comments please...
  16. Anyone knows the yr 2007 model Mpv using timing chain ?
  17. Driven In 140 Char: 2014 Honda Odyssey 2.4 EXV-S (CVT) ‘Driven In 140 Char’ delivers itemized driving impression in (more or less) 140 English alphabet characters (just like Twitter!). It proffers of an alternative to run-the-gamut mainstream with a no-holds-barred altitude and drivel perspective. Fast action drivers will love the quickie read. So, seat back. Pop the soda. Chill. Enjoy the ride. Driven on 15 April, 2014 What is it? Fresh minted off factory floor, this is Honda’s popular MPV nameplate in its fifth outing and the first with sliding rear doors. Underpinning Be assured you aren’t catching a rerun because the fifth-generation Japanese-built Odyssey rides on a brand new ‘ultra-low-floor’ platform. Ride & Handling A softly-sprung and quiet chassis (but it will fidget on broken surface) cradles Baby to a smoothing doze. Plus, speedy thrills around bends wouldn't interrupt Little Snoozing One as the Odyssey exhibits good body control. NVH It’s polished, comfortable and quiet riding just as sweet vibes from Honda’s Earth Dreams are enough to delight a keen driver even as the wife engrosses herself in Odyssey EXV-S’s parody OSIM chairs. Powertrain Honda has built a drone-less simulated 7-speed CVT tranny. It’s found on the Odyssey. And they have thrown in a pair of steering rim-mounted paddle-shifters for good measure. Cabin Dash: Level of quality inside the EXV-S is nearly up there with European offerings of its class. The high set dash cowl fools driver into thinking he’s behind the wheel of an Accord. Driving position and ergonomics are impeccable; wood-effect plastic trim is ACCEPTABLE! Controls: Center stack’s touch sensitive controls duplicate smartphone experience; powered driver seat takes chore out of car-sharing with spouse. Odyssey’s spacious third row seats are fiddly to stow. Space: With one-touch electric dual sliding rear doors, 7 seats and kiddo-friendly ingress and egress why bother in a full-size Toyota Alphard? Walk-through flat floor is the clincher for the EXV-S. Design Honda’s in-your-face concept car bling nose job (embellished with OTT chromeworks on range-topper EXV-S) is let down by Odyssey’s prosaic and frumpy body style all the way round the back. Why, Honda?! Bottom Line Not everyone routinely agree on Nina Davuluri. Which is why the new-for-2014 Odyssey EXV-S is, in my opinion, Singapore’s best mid-size people carrier of the year. What's in store Price: $198,900 (as tested), Power: 174hp, Torque: 225Nm, 0-100: 11.5s, Kerb weight: 1,855kg, Fuel economy: 12.7km/l, CO2 emission: 187g/km Gallery
  18. Any ideas? Kind of thinking of getting a passenger van liao.... or a London cab too.
  19. Hi there, 1. Looking for feedback from Mobilio owner. 2. What do you guys think about Mobilio at http://www.honda.co.jp/auto-lineup/mobilio/ . Regards,
  20. To drum up sales of its 500L in the states, Fiat teamed up with the people's favourite big monster, the Godzilla, to come up with this interesting ad. Timed well with the release of the upcoming Godzilla movie (which opens on 15th May) we say. Instead of telling you what is going to happen in the advertisement, watch for yourselves how the Fiat 500L might just be the safest car to be in if Godzilla does ever attack. http://dai.ly/x1tfvuf_godzilla-official-fiat-family-featuring-the-500l-new-tv-commercial-hd_auto
  21. Dear all, Need some advice here. I'm thinking of change from my current sedan (Mazda3) to a 7 seater, to cater my bigger kids and extended family. We also plan to do road trips to Malaysia or even Thailand more frequently in the coming years. Due to budget, I'll only consider 2nd hand. Initially I was thinking of the popular choices, either a WISH or a STREAM, more inclined to the WISH. But I'm not sue whether a SUV will be more suited when drive to Malaysis/Thailand where road conditions may be too rough for an MPV. Then I'm concerned with the service and fuel costs that SUV may incur more than MPV, and the noise level. So I summarised the pros and cons of the two options: MPV pros: cheaper, better FC, comfortable(?), quite. cons: not suitable for bumpy roads when trip to some parts in north. SUV pros: good for road trip. cons: rough ride(?), more costly (fuel and servicing), noisier(I guess?) Not sure if my summary is correct. For MPVs, my top candidates are WISH/STREAM, then some other less popular choices such as Grandis, Mazda5, Touran. The former are actually not cheap compared to the later due to its popularity but in the long run I think the overall cost in servicing will be less than later? For SUVs I'm looking at Fortuner, Santa Fe, Captiva, Crossroad. If WISH/STREAM has no problem for road trips to Malaysia/Thailand then I can settle with either one. But if they are not, then I'll probably choose an SUV, with priority given to reliability, quietness, FC in that order. Hope can get more info and suggestions for these cars listed. thx! ps: a side question, is it possible to install roof racks on WISH/STREAM? will it damage the car in someway or it's a standard add-on for any car?
  22. I read this morning's papers about the new VW Touran. I'm utterly impressed with VW! priced below 100k with such ridiculous COE price, i have to say that VW is doing the best job currently in the market. not only the price, consider the features packed in the touran. 7 speed DSG. 1.4 TURBO. 0-100 under 10sec. 7 seater audio controls on steering wheels blah blah This is a winner. road tax cheap. FC friendly. 7 seater Continental cheap price high COE, HIGH paper value. to be frank, if i had not purchased my odyssey last year at 96k (low COE)..... this is the one i'm definitely getting.
  23. [extract] It is rumoured that Fiat intends to showcase their 500XL seven-seater van at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in September next month. But before that could happen, images of the said vehicle have leaked into the internet. The van
  24. The 2012 Geneva Motor Show has brought many automakers to the land famous for founding the Red Cross, chocolates, fine timepieces and etc. During this event, Ford has plenty to show the world what they have come up with. Other than the Fiesta ST, Tourneo concept van and the Kuga (or Escape), Ford has unveiled an important model which is the B-Max. You might ask; why is it important? Firstly, the B-Max targets the mini MPV market segment which has increased in popularity. A mini MPV is suitable for those who are looking for a car that provides extra space but not too large in overall dimensions (easy to manoeuvre around). And the B-Max offers not only that but something else that is rather innovative. The B-Max is based on the same platform used on the Fiesta and it does not have a B-pillar. Ford has emphasised that this feature is mainly for easy access into the rear seating area. How did Ford achieve this? This ingenious design integrates the central body pillars into the hinged front doors and the rear sliding doors. The usage of ultra high-strength steel for the integrated central body pillars offers five times more strength, if compared to the usage of ordinary mild steel. And Ford has ensured that this provides excellent crash protection especially from a side impact. This unique feature creates a wide opening which enables someone to load or unload bulky items and it is also useful for large sized passengers to move in and out of the rear passenger compartment. The B-Max is available with several petrol and engine types and the highlight is the all-new 1.0 litre, three cylinder engine from the EcoBoost engine family. The engine is mated to a six-speed dual- clutch transmission and it features a turbocharged direct injection and also a start-stop system. The Ford B-Max will go on sale in Europe later this year as a 2013 model. Photo credit: Net Car Show and Auto Blog
