  1. $42,564(Oct) $41,994 (Nov) After the first round or second round of bidding in Nov, will the pqp be adjusted immediately? Because I may have the intention to buy PQP on the last week on November so will it increase given that there's a high chance COE will increase in the next round?

  4. This year japan's car industries so happening. 1st is Kobe steel scandal, now Nissan also face trouble by allowing their unqualified staffs to QC their cars on final inspection stage before rolling off the assembly line. Its across the whole range of their vehicles, not just 1 or 2 models involved. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-nissan-recall/nissan-to-suspend-domestic-production-of-cars-for-japan-market-idUSKBN1CO1FW Recall list: http://www.nissan.co.jp/RECALL/DATA/report4126.html?rstid=20140314rst000001001

  7. Dear All, saw on the ad, both cars got my attention. I am thinking of getting a short term cars to tight over my sales business. Just started my business with my partner. So, we do not wish to fork out too much on car, but car is essential for me. Not considering van for now. Auto short term drive would be ideal, anything that is over 1.5 years would be good as once business stablized or doing better, will opt to upgrade and change to better or newer car. ** i am trading in my proton savvy 5month left car, with2.7 Scarp value plus abit on body. and i do not intend to throw in alot of down payment. max is use my trade in value to offset a little bit. Nissan March, 1.4C Auto. 2004. COE expired 2019 oct? selling 15800, Nissan Sunny, 1.6 Auto, 2006, COE expired May 2021, about 21800-22800 Which one is more ideal? heard sunny is very high FC? how about march? good for short term drive? and if mid way i wana sell off this car, to upgrade, what are the implication and things that i will foresee?
  8. Here we discuss how durable is your car ...... So far my 9 year old Latio super durable and long lasting and seldom gives me problem . I am the first owner and so far no major issue except replace radiator at year 8.5 , ignition coil at year 7.5 , front and back absorber at year 7 and air-con compressor at year 6.5 . The main problem in Latio is high usage of battery and mine only last less than 1.5 year , and recently I use Amaron seen can last longer ! My mileage now 210,000 km and all these while been servicing by TC . What about yours ?

  10. Hi guys!! was looking for a new car recently> took great interest into this car by NISSAN Nissan Almera LOOKS GOOD DOESNT IT!! Here are some review i got from one of straits time website. Description Good ol' austerity drive Despite a lack of frills, the Thai-made Nissan Almera gets you to your destination hassle-free By Christopher Tan Published: November 5 2011, The Straits Times ................................................................................ ............................................. When Japanese car manufacturers started to shift production to Thailand in the 1990s, they had two things in mind. One, to get around the high tariffs which many South-east Asian markets imposed on imported vehicles. Under Afta (Asean Free Trade Agreement), cars assembled in member states are subject to preferential taxes. Two, they were bracing themselves for a possible labour shortage back home. A number of plants in Japan were already relying on imported labour by then, even as companies were raising salaries to attract domestic workers. Toyota and Honda were the first. They launched Asean-specific models - the Honda City and Toyota Soluna (which became the Vios) - back in the mid- 1990s. While these cars have been selling like hotcakes in emerging markets in the region, they get a mixed reception in sophisticated Singapore. When COEs are relatively low, they cruise along the upper half of the sales chart. But when COEs are high (like now), they sputter. It does not help that Japanese manufacturers designate fairly basic models for the region - models that lack the bells and whistles increasingly common in other cars, even the once-austere Korean makes. The new Nissan Almera is the latest example. The carmaker's second Thai- made model to arrive here (the first was the March in February), the Almera goes head to head with Honda City and Toyota Corolla Altis. Size-wise, the Almera sits between the two other Thai-made Japanese rivals. But visually, it comes across as the biggest - possibly because of its height. At 1.5m, it is the tallest of the three. This trait translates to immense headroom in the car, which incidentally is not too shoddy in terms of legroom and elbow room either. Boot space, at 490 litres, is decent. While there is plenty of space in the Almera, there is not much else you can say about that space. The cabin is rudimentary, with a cockpit that is minimalist and an equipment level that might have been modest 20 years ago. Strangely, however, it does not add up to an altogether unpleasant experience. While the interior is unabashedly plasticky, it is not pretentious. Nissan has not attempted to dress it up with faux wood or gaudy metallic surfaces. The features are nothing to write home about. Manual air-conditioning controls, a sound system that sounds hollow and powered windows with no one-touch operation. The only concessions to modernity are electrically operated wing mirrors, a keyless access and ignition system, and a boot lid that can be opened from the rear (rather uncommon among Japanese cars). Its drivetrain is similarly simplistic: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder that puts out less than 100 horsepower, mated to a four-speed autobox that does not have a manual override. If you want a five-speed transmission, you will have to choose the manual version. It has front MacPherson strut suspension and torsion beam for the rear. Although basic, the Almera betrays none of the harshness its more sophisticated siblings used to show whenever they went over a hump. The car gets front-ventilated disc brakes and drum brakes for the rear wheels. As expected, the Almera is not what anyone would call a driver's car. It has more body roll than a belly dancer - even at the slightest agitation. It lacks oomph and often requires high revs to get going. And its steering is loose and woolly. Despite all that, the car is not excruciating to drive. It has good all-round visibility, a relatively tight turning circle and it is a mind-numbingly easy car to operate. Which makes it ideal for driving schools. Being relatively lightweight, the car is fuel-efficient too. It is a rather stylish-looking car too, even if completely devoid of bling. The Premium version gets tan leather upholstery and 16-inch rims. Too bad Afta-compliant cars do not enjoy preferential tax treatment in Singapore. Note, it states that the car is the largest SEDAN of its range, in my opinion should be Toyota? Honda? How ever when i want to know is that other than SIZE, is it superior in other aspects? Engine efficiency? Air dynamics? Hope that you guys can help me with my decision making... FYI i'm more interested in Japanese made cars anyway if anyone is curious i got my link from here. NIssan Almera

  12. Anyone notice why agent stop bringing in Honda Accord 2.4, Nissan Teana 2.5 this year? It's not on their lists. Even MI Subaru Legacy 2.5 stocks is out! Does it mean that only Camry 2.5 is sellable for higher cc Japanese mid size sedan?

  16. could not seem to get anything from the singapore GTR club. would like to ask for advice here. I am noob on this car but i do know there is differences between every model year. 1. i heard that a 2008 model at stage 2 can already make up all the differences between the different year model in terms of performance. so if i intend to go stage 2, is it true to say 2008 model is enough? 2. what is the pro GTR workshops locally? i want to get the car checked at a workshop before purchasing it. 3. are there any serious maintenance issues with the gearbox of the GTR? can a mechanic check if it has problems? also, if the clutch has been replaced with performance ones, will it still have those serious issues? 4. anyone happen to know which company gives the best insurance rate for this car? 5. is the GTR an LTA magnet? i previously drove an LTA magnet and really hated the constant stopping and checking. Thanks so much.
  17. Hi all Jap car user users, considering buying this car (Nissan Latio, Toyota Vios & Lancer) but need your experts input on the maintenance cost. how much do you spent on maintenance on your Latio
  18. Hi guys, have a really weird problem and wonder if anyone has had anything similar happen. I will eventually send to workshop, but fairly busy now so would like to see if anyone has an idea what's going on. A couple of months ago, car batt dead and couldn't start. Jump started and all was good. As battery was only a few months old, I dismissed it and though I perhaps had forgotten to turn off headlights. Today the same thing happened. I last drove the car for around 10km at 7am, parked at office. At 12pm when I tried to start car, couldn't crank. Got my colleague to jump start, drove for 1-2km and parked. While jump starting, car exhibited all the signs of a flat battery, light flickering, weak cranking etc. Once we parked, Straight away car couldn't crank again. After lunch, we jump started again and left car running without load for 45 mins. Once turned off, car couldn't start right away. Double checked the battery terminals and there was plenty of corrosion on them. Cleaned up, tightened the terminals and cranking was instantly very strong. Contrast this to 5 mins ago where there was no cranking at all. Despite the strong cranking though, car couldn't start. We suspected fuel pump issues, opened the fuel cover to vent the fumes and car instantly could start. Leaves me perplexed though as this seems intermittent: Battery initially exhibited signs of low charge, but later on the strong cranking showed it's fine. Fuel pump suspected as well, but that will not cause the issue of no cranking at all. ECU is the only thing that comes to mind. Anyone encountered anything similar?
  19. Hi Folks My car uses the electronic parking brake and I've been thinking of getting a BBK (mainly for chio-ness lol). Was wondering if a car's electronic parking brake still works with it. Thanks in advance
  20. Hi all, Anyone encounter after changing cooling coil and compressor. Aircon still not cold. Have anyone tried using this K seal in radiator? Any feedback so far? Thanks.
  21. As above, from the brochures both seem to be using the same engine. If that is the case, does that mean the Pulsar will be better in acceleration and fuel efficiency ?
  22. saw this car on TPE today..wonder any bro drive this car can share?
  23. Hi gurus, My 12yrs old Latio is experiencing a sort of rumbling noise from engine during cold start or at low rpm <1200 (move off from stationery) The noise disappear at cruising speed A workshop diagnose as tappet noise and recommend for top overhaul My car mileage is now 260K km and has never undergo any overhaul before and is left about 3 yrs (renewed coe for 5yrs in 2015) Is this the only option? will it lead to more problem if left unrepaired? Some may remember that my engine is also consuming engine oil and i top-up like 1L/2weeks Also, I just changed a second hand gearbox in Dec 2016...... Any advice for me? TIA.......
  24. Hi, just visited Nissan Singapore website and noticed they have this as an upcoming vehicle. Anyone know anything about the spec and the tentative rollout date? Looks to me this MPV is in the same class as Honda Odyssey and Mitsubishi Grandis.
