  1. Hi All, Please beware when you enter any lucky draw in future. Marketing ppl r getting more sly these days. My personal encounter: Recently, on 31 Dec 07, received an sms saying that my application for XXXXX credit card has been approved and will be send to me within 3 days, and if I do not receive the card in 3days please call this number. I called up the credit card company and told them I received this sms even though I did not apply for their card. They investigated and told me that I have automatically applied for their card while entering a lucky draw when I pay my bills using those A*S machines/kiosks located in malls or petrol stations. At the end of paying bill using those kiosks, there is those lucky draw thingy where you r required to enter your contact details. And that is how they got my contact for application. This is really ridiculous! how can a lucky draw contest be associated with credit card application. From this lesson, I will reminder myself not to enter any lucky draw contest or survey anymore. Regards Orac

  3. This thread is to detail bad experiences you have so that others will not suffer the same. I will start with mine: Location: Bukit Merah Lane 1 Hawker Centre (Just opposite Mova Automotive Workshop) Stall: Rong Guang BBQ Seafood Case: I ordered a few dishes and one of it is La-La (the shellfish in chilli sauce dish that many love) My Beef with Them: 90% of the shells are empty and the shellfish are pathetically small. Its about 1cm by 1cm per piece so go figure The food is not fantastic (average quality and taste) even though it was recommended by Yummy King. Watch out!!!!
  4. All bro pls take note on new spaad cameras at Telok Blangah road after caribbean Keppel Bay & Pasir Panjang Road indirection of West Coast . Another at Pasir Panjang Road near the Handicraft Centre inthe direction toward Vivo City. No signboard Warning.
  5. This is not the way to communicate to me, says a driver, who was left a brick on the hood of his car. Recounted the STOMPer: "The owner of 145 Killiney use concrete blocks to send a message. "I parked there after a friend told me there is "free" parking behind his house. "When I returned, there was a one foot long concrete block on my car. I checked with another car owner and realise that it was actually charged parking there. "However, there are no signs that said so, no barriers and no "no tresspassing" nor other signages. "This is not the way to do it lor.. A note on the windscreen would have suffice! Picture is of another clueless driver behind my car.
  6. Driving up my multi storey carpark as usual, will pass by my loves, upon seeing them, there is this sinking feeling something is just not right, one of them seems out of her parking lot, it's being knock down and brought up again, my beloved Yamaha. My car is scratched, i am ok, my car have dinks on the side...i am ok, but when my bike is being knocked down......THAT DRIVE ME CRAZY! Luckily this neighbour from the same level heard 2 loud bangs, stick her head out the window and saw the car leaving and she took the plate down. So.....I went to make a police report, idac accident report, paid $5.35 LTA and get a print out of the car's insurance company's name, sent my bike to Yamaha, and guess what, after a week, the driver got my number after TP gave him a ring and offered to pay for my repairs. 6 weeks for my bike to be repaired, still awaiting parts from Japan. From this incident, one lesson is learned, if knocked a parked vehicle, make damn sure no see us before we go or write a note and leave it on the vehical. By the way, the driver knock down my bike from his front as he was on the line.......
  7. I personally feel that Singapore drivers are really getting from bad to worse at times. From things like double-parking along busy stretches of road to pick up precious kids from school to parking along double yellow lines outside shopping malls to beating red lights in neighbourhoods to turn or just simply changing lanes without signalling. What is this country coming to? As such, I am putting up a general list of offences that I personally think that the traffic police should take note of. I'm even thinking of compiling the list that is going to grow here and submit them upwards. Here goes:- Parking along double yellow lines (especially at coffee shops & schools) Changing lanes abruptly without signalling Beating the red light (especially at neighbourhood area) Double parking along the road (eg. that school along the end of Braddell Road) Parking in a bus lane (especially in the neighbourhood area) Parking outside schools (especially in neighbourhood area. PARK AT THE NEARBY CARPARK AND MAKE YOUR KIDS WALK !!!!!!) Parking in HANDICAP lots (this is especially for those "mentally" retarded people who don't know how to read the signs) Parking at fire engine hardstands (HEY, there's a car park nearby, too cheapo to pay for parking coupon is it?)
  8. Don't ask me what it's about. Just happen to see 3 girls sticking Post-It all over the CRV. So distracting during lessons!

  17. Hi all, I've just settle some queries.. and got the feedback on this about car insurance. Scenario : Car A kana knock by 3rd party (Car B) Car A paper value - $38K Car A market value - $41K Repair cost quoted by workshop - $5K Conclusion : The insurer of the Car B will pay owner of Car A $38K & take the car AND WILL NOT PROCEED WITH THE REPAIR!! NOTE : Let assume Car B = Car A (Same car & everything else assumed to be the same), THEN THE INSURER OF CAR B WILL SCRAPED BOTH CAR GET THE PAPER VALUE & PAYS OWNER OF CAR A & B, THE PAPER VALUE!! So for those with car that's low in paper value & low in market value... pls take note.
  18. Check out the many reacalls on Mitsubishi cars in the U.S. http://www.mitsubishisucks.com/cars/recalls/usa/
  19. Taken from toyota forum.... esp for bro/sis using mineral oil/having shorter oil chg interval you might want to stock up a few pieces. This is about the best Toyota Denso oil filter (made in japan) you can buy for your corolla. It uses the yellow foam filtering media which I believe gives superior filtering compared to the paper element ones. http://www.nbt-brunei.com/part/knowledge/oil_filter/ The problem is that the Toyota Stockist are no longer bringing in the made in japan filters. To cut costs, they are bringing in the made in thailand 90915-YZZE series which are all paper element type.
