Bank said the machine will invalid that card after 2 tries and card MUST be replaced as it cannot be used anymore. Replacement cost $5. 4. Read in today ST and was amused by Chelsea billionire Roman Abramovich could do to go all out to win the Champion League........... After sacking Avram Grant last saturday, RA is in talk with Jose Mourinho to take over as Chelsea manager by offering a 2 million pound Ferrari as a gift....... Its seem like RA is trying to tempt JM to return to Stamford Bridge with a Ferrari ........ But JM is looking most likely to take over Inter Milan job....
  5. Hi bros/sis, I hope hiring managers, HR folks or fellow malaysian employees in SG can help... I'm hiring a good IT guy from a MNC in KL whose current salary is RM6K x 12 months. He is in late 20s and not married and is not a Singapore PR. How should I compute a reasonably good salary in SGD to offer him? I can't simply convert to SGD6K then add 20% mah I tot of doing something like this.. [base Savings] 1. RM6K / 2.2 = SGD2727 2. Multiply by say 25% over (1) = SGD3409 *Thus, base savings alone is way above current salary of RM6K [Add SGD cost of living] 3. $600 for rental of room 4. $200 for daily transport cost 5. $500 for personal entertainment 6. $300 for "miss home" emotional suffering *This will offset his added financial burden in SG In the end, the offer is SGD5K monthly salary. Any advice here? Don't go OT !
  6. Toyota Corolla Altis CNG Version This Year Submitted by peter on 19 March, 2008 - 13:45. Alternative Fuel New Cars Toyota TMT has confirmed that it will have a bi-fuel version of the 10th generation Corolla Altis by the end of 2008. The car will retain its regular E20 fuel system and tank, adding to it a CNG (compressed natural gas) system with a 70-litre tank in the boot. As with current Taxi conversions this will result in about 1/4 - 1/3 reduction in boot space. The tank will also increase the weight of the vehicle by around 100 kg, and Toyota will replace the rear coils springs with stiffer coils from the Corolla wagon which is around the same weight as this CNG version. Although this car is primarily targeting the local taxi market, it seems that there would be logic behind offing a regular consumer version also, and even exporting to other markets such as Singapore. The CNG Altis will be using the 1.6 litre engine. The gas version of the 9th generation Corolla being used as taxis in Thailand is badged "Limo" and is quite a cut down version, sitting below the "J" base model in terms of specification. If the new CNG Altis is to attract customers from outside the taxi industry, it will really need to be offered with a higher trim level. With the global oil price sitting well above $100 a barrel ($108 at time of writing), and showing no signs of dropping off, it makes sense for Thailand to make a move away from oil. Gas is the obvious choice given that Thailand has a local supply. Gasohol and E20 might be cheaper that regular petrol, but when gas is just 8.50 a kg, and LPG is THB 10.15 a litre compared to THB 28.59 for the much hyped E20, the price difference card doesn't really work in the favour of E20.
  7. Good day, I am changing my 4 tyres to Bridgestone RE001 with free voucher on 13 Apr. My present is Yokohama C-drive 195/55/15 and use less than 20 000km. Anyone want to take over this set of tyres?
  8. I Am sure everyone wants to know what's the most popular pick of choice among our fellow drivers. Here's your chance to vote and see
  9. Hi Is it possible? Anybody care to share the above? Tks
  10. It was stated that Starhub will not show EPL matches on Channel 23 & 24 which was run by ESS (ESPN & Star Sport) but introduce another new channel to show the next season EPL matches. They will also increase the fee of ESS by another $10 come October 2007. So to say, we have to pay for the increase at ESS plus another fee for new channel just for EPL. That's double fee for sport channel. Don't you think is too much. I enjoy ESS as they also show F1, Extreme Sports, Golf, beach volleyball, Asean football matches.......etc and with the new Channel just for EPL, I would be paying more. I am in the mind of cancelling the fee for ESS and just subscribe for EPL and waiting for the announcement of the cost for the new channel. If it is too high, I will cancel both and worst to worst, enjoy my EPL at the coffee shop downstair over a cup of coffee does saving all the fee. Any other views from MCF members or EPL fans. Cheers.

  13. Of course, each has its disadvantages... HYBRID - ADV 1.being green without any hassle of conversion 2.no warranty issues (for new vehicles) 3. - DISADV 1.electric motor complicates repairs? 15. Call the citibank card centre and enquired about redeeming Citi$ for fuel vouchers and was told they no longer offer any vouchers? They used to offer Esso vouchers though. Anyone knows what happen to them? Cut cost?
  16. On NST today. Claim huge savings! However, what they didn't illustrate is that there is a 4% penalty for full early redemption. Go to DBS website and see what I mean. (I can not imagine what processing charge is equivalent to 2 % of o/s loan. It is purely labour costs I would think and it would be the same whether the loan amts are big or small) However, the website did not say whether there is penalty for partial redemption. If there is no penalty for partial redemption, then the early redemption penalty has no effect cos you could prepay 99% of the loan first and pay the last $ later ie full redemption. Yeah, charge me 4% of a $... Anyway, it is a good start for motorists as we have been screwed too long by the banks. Interesting to note that this product is offered when interest rates are going up. Wonder whether they will yank it off the mkt when interest rates start to decline???
  17. Toyota is planning to make their hybrid cars cheaper and increase production due to growing demands for it over gasoline cars...that means...we can decrease our reliance/demand on petrol... finally a way to hit back at our oil cartels! http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/14/automobiles/14toyota.html
  18. Hi fellow Honda Jazzers. I'm considering and chances is that i'm going place an order for the Jazz this week after looking and testdriving a few cars over the pass weekend. Being a newbie in car stuffs, I wld greatly welcome opinions that for 65,500 at Kah Motors, am i getting a good buy? What's inclusive is the standard 3years free car servicing or up to $1,500 insurance. Normal price is 64,500 but additional 1k for the full bodykit consisting of 5 items. Side, back spoiler and front, etc. As i'm 26 years old, my quoted insurance was a whooping estimated 2k. So i guess i'll be using my old man's name for the time being as he has NCD status, saving me around 1k. That means i'll be taking up the free servicing. And also if i'm not wrong, by taking up their in-house insurance, there's this 600 free petrol voucher as well. So any senior's here pls i'll welcome your opinions. This is probably the standard package. So i heard Honda cars margin is quite low for the staffs. Just wondering if i can get a better more enticing package from them.
