  1. I am not sure how much PSI reading to be optimal for tyres? And how do i know if it needs more pressure or not? I saw a gadget measuring PSI for $40, necessary?
  2. Without any car in front or the car in front doesn't stepping brake at all, or even going up slope. Why SG drivers like to step brake so often? I only can think of few reasons below. 1)Following to close 2)Suddenly realise over speed limit. 3)Opposite road accident. 4)Using HP 5)Seeing 6)New licence 7)Wire short circuit Or any other? I had experience a car in front of me keep on stepping brake from SLE - CTE - AYE Don't understand why
  3. Hi, As per topic title, which Giant in JB you most prefer to go to and why? Pls share with us the reason also, eg, closest to CIQ, most available parking, have lots of other shops there besides Giant, etc. Also, can share here which Giant you don't like and why. Eg, not enough parking, feels that parking is unsafe, hard to get to, etc.
  4. I noticed quite a number of people in my Facebook friend list are updating their Facebook status soooooooo frequently. They seem to like telling the world every damn thing happening in their life. Some of the updates are really bo liao... copy and paste some for you guys to see: "dropped my ruler twice today." "had brown rice for lunch." "it's Monday." Don't you think they are super bo liao? Who wants to know all these? How about you? How regularly do you update your facebook status message?

  9. Hi, I'm driving an auto Honda Civic (ES5). Is it ok to drop my gear to D3 from D often? For example, when I'm on a highway and filtering to exit, I'll not step on my brake but shift to D3 from D to let the engine brake kicks in. I usuall shift to D3 from D at round 70 - 85km/h. I understand that if we shift to D3, the gear will not go beyond 3rd gear. Same thing for 2 and 1; that is shift to 2 and 1, then the gear will stay at 2 and 1 respectively. At MSCP, I'll usually shift to gear 2 for going up and down some steep slopes. Any idea if this driving behavior is bad for my auto transmission? I know some will suggest just use brake, and let the gear system decide the best gear to use. But I feel that sometimes it's not safe to step on the brake, especially when you are negoitating a steep bend or when the road is wet. Any informative comments would be very much appreciated. Thanks and regards.
  10. As abv. have been using mf cloth for my detailing session, how do i know its time to replace it.
  11. How often do you see another MCFer on the road (spotted their MCF Decal)? Once in a while (maybe once in 2 weeks) I would spot this particular MCFer travelling on the same road as me and I would tap my horn lightly twice. And today, I spot another MCFer (new admin) on the road.. How about you? And do you have a MCF decal? Aside. At my workplace, there is another 3 MCFers that parked their ride in the same carpark as me. Well, we do meet up for coffee, smoke or lunch.. Do you have anyone MCFer working in the same building? (If you were the one that ask your colleague to join this forum, not counted).

  13. I am wondering how often should I replace the oxygen sensors. I known that as the oxygen sensors aged, fuel consumption will deteriorate. What is a good replacement interval assuming that there is no equipment available to check the oxygen sensors.
  14. Started this partly as I am looking for a vacuum cleaner for the car as well as trying out the polling system. Thanks for your participation and help.
  15. If you wash it less than once a day or every 2 days, how do you keep the #&@*#&@* dust from settling on your ride??
  16. I've not wash my car for 6 months...
  17. hi i'm driving a 05 carens and today after starting, the car vibrate quite violently. even when driving at expressway, it will suddenly jerk for 5-8secs then become ok. it comes intermittently when stopping and driving, what could be the prob? just changed plugs for 3k km. is it the plugs? cables? gearbox? thanks
  18. Hi.. My ride is a year old, abt 40k mileage and I'm wondering about whether my aircon needs servicing other than the usual change of filter (every 15-20k). Aircon is still cold and no funny smells that my $2 activated carbon block from Daiso can't take care of. Of course, if drive after exercise or carrying odor-releasing foods, that is temporary stink I checked out a few older threads and there are 3 broad recommendations 1. Regular servicing, aka preventive maintenance 2. Dun touch if it ain't broke, and it seems to work out well too for those who mentioned it 3. Chemical products to clean out the internal parts of the aircon (DIY), e.g. lysol spray and cleanair air con disinfectant spray. My main concern is cost and aircon reliability.
  19. Hi guys, 1. It seems that some car manufacturers roll out either new model or new FL pretty often. On the other hand, there are some car models that don't change frequently. I think Ford Mondeo is one fine example. 2. So would this be a consideration when you shop for car? You don't want to get a new car that in 2 years time another new FL or new model will come in. When new model or new FL come in, the existing car resale price usually drop sharply. Regards,
  20. Just wondering, how often do you guys change the ATF? The automatic gearbox is the next most stressed component in the brake after the engine and a repair is anything but cheap.
  21. One of my office neighbours used to polish his car regularly, like once a fortnight. The car was alway parked in covered residential parking lot. Before a year, his new car lost the shine and the colour became dull. So how often can we polish our car. Once a month ok?
  22. Hi all, Can I check with you all how often do I have to service my car air-con? Where to service is cheap and good? Anyone got any idea the Tuffi Kleen system offered by Tuff Kote, is it good, care to give me your comments, thanks!
  23. Hi all Noticed that our Octavia uses a Red/Pink colour coolent in the Radiator. How often do we need to top this ? Does it dry up often ? What do we top it up with ? Water can ? The user's manual mentions adding water for temp use is ok but remember to bring it back to proper coolent mix asap. But it doesn't say what is the proper coolent mix... If water is no good, does that mean I have to keep a can of pure coolant to top up whenever I detect that coolant level is low ? A friend of mine drives a 2 year old Bora... I noticed that he only need to top up with water. He poured it into a white plastic globe/ball like container on the upper left of the engine bay. I'm such a newbie... but the prev jap cars I drive only need to put good ol cheepo water... Thanks
