  1. Bad news for online shoppers.. http://www.straitstimes.com/business/economy/customers-might-have-to-pay-tax-on-goods-and-services-bought-online
  2. Hey guys, Was just wondering how many of you actually shop online and what would you buy online and not buy online. Recently been hearing my friends getting most of their household stuff, gadgets, accessories online. I am not talking about coupon sites like groupon though but more of like g market. If you have any great websites to share for for clothes, car accessories, gym equipment, etc do post it here! What would be your favorite online shopping site? Cheers
  3. Asking a feedback with you guys, Have you encounter when u booked online hotels through either agoda.com / booking.com / latestays.com Once you made the payment, reached the hotel, check-in process they asked for deposit of certain amount which is refundable when u check out. Is this their policy?? I encountered this, i felt disgusted. Since i have paid fully for hotel which wants me to pay full through creditcard, yet when checking-in they still ask for deposit. I only encounter this in malaysia selected hotels. Whereby those online booking website doesnt stated the requirement clearly, too smoky. Especially booking.com prices stated all "Exclude Taxes" Some websites "Included Taxes" Any tips to handle this kind of issues? Or better suggestion of online hotel booking websites. Especially Malaysia, as i go there frequently.

  7. Deciding that enough was enough, one woman in Singapore has made it her personal mission to nab all adulterous married men looking for sexual flings online. The woman said that she has gotten evidence of the cheating ways of some men who claimed to be married and are looking for sexual partners on a famous online chat app. She showed photos of the men, who she approached and who she said had admitted that they were looking for flings. One of them said that he had problems in his marriage and was looking for a way out. She says that such incidents only make her more determined to root out the problem of adulterous men online and that she will continue her acts as the masked female vigilante. Any of the bros photo here?
  8. Hi buddies Need help. Just bought a new car and for the first time in my car ownership life, I decided to go for online insurance and pay the penalty for taking outside insurance. The problem is... The SE requires my car insurance to register the car while the online insurer requires the car plate for processing... It's a chicken n egg issue. Well ... I can call in to the hotline to find out more later... But is the SE pulling a fast one?
  9. Like to know which is best source to get brakes pads and rotors online? Like Brembos and Hawk. Thx in adv
  10. This thread is for Soccer Manager, the totally pointless game we love to hate. Currently we are mass orgy-ing in World Championship 6223 - Game world ID 28826World Championship 9191 - Game world ID 50548MCF Premier League - Game World ID 60665 (by application only) Register yourself and pit yourself against some of the brightest brains in the world of footy management. Square up against the legendary White One (not so legendary lately), the irrepressible Little Prince (press harder babe!) or the mercurial Lclub (mercurial = blardy inconsistant). Tear your hair out by drawing with the most tedious bus driver or lose all your dignity being trashed by a pussy. Find out that Takumi can beat you in driving and managing and Tarzan yells command at his players while swinging from stand to stand. We will eat you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 3 times a day.

  16. Kiss your free time goodbye: you can now play 900 pre-1996 arcade games online for free. The golden age of arcade games has returned—to your web browser. The Internet Archive exists to create a digital copy of, well, everything digital produced by culture. It's most famous for the Wayback Machine, which preserves old versions of websites for posterity—so, for example, if you want to see what Yahoo.com looked like in 1996, you can do that. Last year, it added "stealing everyone's spare time" to its goals, and debuted a powerful weapon in that arsenal: The Console Living Room, simulating hundreds of classic console games ranging from Atari to Sega Genesis and a dozen-plus other consoles in between. Now it has a new tool for monopolizing the nostalgia of anyone old enough to have actually played arcade games and younger nerds who want a little hipster cred: The Internet Arcade. I died because I was taking a screenshot for you. I hope you appreciate it. There are currently 901 games available (although a mere 350 or so are "recommended"), spanning the 1970s to the 1990s. People today complain about video games charging you once for the main product and then again for downloadable content, but these are the games that people paid to play every single time, and now they're free. Having a Q*Bert high score makes going pro in LoL look like child's play. Every punk kid says they've played on the tournament level for League of Legends these days, but none of them ever had their three initials saved in glorious neon for everyone in town to marvel over (until a challenger could rise up and beat them). Street Fighter 2 was actually a video game before it was a movie! These games don't have the graphics or sound design that modern titles do, but that also means that the games are built entirely out of their mechanics. Everything you play today has an ancestor in here somewhere, and there's a good chance the original version did it simpler and better. I hope you realize that I could have been playing games instead of writing this. Whether you loved these games back in the day or you just love video games enough to go back to your roots, can you really afford not to waste all your time playing free games without having 13-year-olds (or mental 13-year-olds) scream at you?
  17. Anyone can advise how to define shipping charges for online shopping? if i want to sell something online but how do i tell buyer how much to pay for freight? assuming im selling small items, i understand registered local mail flat rate is $2.50 but what if customer buy more and how do I charge them accordingly? any mechanism to calculate? i intend to setup online website selling stuff. i tot of using paypal to link the transaction but the problem lies with deciding how much to charge on shipping. Do you think if I sell in gmarket will be better off? I simply link my website w catalog directly to gmarket? not only can attract my buyers who visit my website, i can also sell to gmarket buyers who happen to browse for items?
  18. The authorities are always watching what we post here..... http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1211003/1/.html SINGAPORE: Police on Sunday announced that it had arrested two 17-year-olds for posting racist remarks online. In a statement, police said the remarks could lead to ill-will and hostility between the different races in Singapore. The arrests came after authorities received reports on Wednesday that racist remarks were being posted on Facebook and Twitter. The suspects, both boys, were nabbed over the next two days. A person convicted under the Sedition Act could be fined up to S$5,000 and jailed up to 3 years. Police said the right to free speech does not extend to making remarks that incite racial and religious conflict. The public should also refrain from re-posting and adding on to comments that may inflame the situation. The commander of Bedok Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police How Kwang Hwee, said: "The Internet may be a convenient medium to express one's views but members of the public should bear in mind that they are no less accountable for their actions online." "Police take a very stern view of acts that could threaten the social harmony in Singapore." - CNA/wm

  20. PIRATES UNDER FIRE: BitTorrent, EZTV and such online piracy sites could now be under threat with the Amended Copyright Act. No more bittorent, no more eztv, life can be kinda boringg.... ------------ Parliament has passed an amended Copyright Act that allows copyright owners to obtain blocking orders against infringing websites, without first having to send a take-down notice to network service providers. PHOTOS Senior Minister of State for Law Indranee Rajah moves the Copyright (Amendment) Bill for Second Reading in Parliament. ENLARGE CAPTION SINGAPORE: Parliament today (July 8) passed an amended Copyright Act that aims to put a stop to online piracy. Pushing for the Bill, Senior Minister of State for Law Indranee Rajah said it will give copyright owners greater ability to protect their rights in the online space. One key measure is to allow owners to obtain blocking orders against infringing websites. They can do this by applying directly to the court, without having to first establish liability on the part of the network service provider for copyright infringement. Previously, copyright owners needed to send a request to network service providers to disable access or remove copyright infringing material. This was done by issuing a take-down notice to the network service provider. Since there is no rule making it mandatory to comply, service providers need not act on such notices. Ms Indranee said that online piracy is a global issue that affects Singapore as well. "The prevalence of online privacy in Singapore turns customers away from legitimate content and adversely affects Singapore's creative sector," she said. "It can also undermine our reputation as a society that respects the protection of intellectual property."
