Hi, I have just collected my Opel Meriva yesterday and am pleased with my new baby. But I have a question regarding the 2 rear foglights. Mine only lights up at the driver's side. When I asked the SE, I was told that it is normal and the Meriva's rear foglight only lights up one side. I told the SE my Corsa C also has the the rear foglights and they light up on both sides. He said only my batch (first batch of Corsa C) lights up both side, all subsequent batches only light up on the driver's side. I am not too convinced by the SE's explanation, and I just felt that it looked weird having 2 light covers, when only 1 lights up. Are there any Meriva owners who can let me know whether your rear fog light lights up both side or 1 side? Thanks a lot!

Despite constantly growing oil prices, executives from the German Adam Opel AG expect that European crossover and SUV market will be able to swallow yet another member of the already enormous family of off-roaders that will never see the real dirt. In its press release, Opel says that the new Opel Antara crossover will feature a unibody construction, intellectual for-wheel drive, and high ground clearance combined with compact (4.57 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and 1.70 meters in height) dimensions. The new Antara will be unleashed with a set of three engines and two transmissions. The most expensive model will come with a 3.2-liter V6 petrol engine, which features 224 horsepower and is mated with an automatic six-speed manual gearbox with ActiveSelect function. The next in line will be a 150 hp 2.0-liter turbo-diesel with common-rail system, which can be ordered width either a manual or an automatic five-speed transmission. The cheapest trim will be equipped with 2.4-liter 141 hp four-cylinder gasoline unit with two overhead camshafts and one balance shaft. Yoz... I've realised that there's not much talk aboot this car oso. In comparison to the other continental TCed coupes, i.e, VW GOLF Mk V GTi, MEGANE RS, it's the cheapest. BELOW 100K LEH! Yet i see none on the roads, anything wrong with that car? Or is it really been overlooked? If not for the premium in insurance for TC cars and the higher road tax and FC, i may consider getting that car. Here's some of the specs: 2.0 ECOTEC TURBO 200bhp/262Nm 6spd manual 0-100km/h: 7.8 sec Comments?

Opels never appealed to me, but i guess there's a first time for everything. And this is no lousy cheap European convertible. This is can move. Fast. It is actually GM's european version of the Pontiac Solstice. (GM owns a myriad of brands including Opel). Two seater roadster, 2.2litre, 4 cyclinder, turbo-charged engine producing 260BHP. Five-speed manual, 0-100kph in less than 6 seconds. It's a soft-top convertible, but can't find pictures of it with the top up. It looks gooood. I want. Hmm i seem to want many things. It'll be on sale in 2007, but think it'll probably be on our shores late 2007.

Tested the car lately. On paper, it is 8.2sec, but in real life feels fast due to the adequate torque from low RPM. Clutch has easy biting, and not so heavy like wrx's, so should be a relief during jams. Could that be one reason why century sprint number is high?? And if u modified the power, i think the clutch will be the weak link. Engine and power delivery is smoooottthhhhh, coupled with 6M, driver is in real control. Compared to 93 troll, it is as smooth, but this one pulls stronger. Perhaps due to lower manual transmission loss. To get such smoothness, i bet the stock boosting is not agressive, leaving room for mods. Think i remember a German tuner offering chip that pumps the hp to 240. Not sure what kind of turbo this is, but it has little lag. Handling is average IMHO, thus making the ride compliant. Steering is sharp, not too light not too heavy. Since it's a hatchback, it's pretty nimble too. Build quality is excellent, typical German like, no complaints here. Plastics are pleasing but could be better and softer i feel. Features: 4 airbags, zonal air con, rain sensor, internal motion sensors for car alarm, remote window control on car key (like Audi, useful feature), advanced trip computer, no sunroof (arrghh...) Price is a tad over 100K. If u r a sucker for value-for-money conti, this got to be at the top few of your shopping list.
