  3. I didn't start this thread for FT bashing. It is more to discuss how to live with neighbours with "special" hobbies.
  4. My brother noticed something interesting a few weeks ago, but I never got around to writing about it. (Sorry, I've just been really busy!) A CISCO vehicle was parked very precariously along Upper East Coast Road, as follows. I don't know the traffic rules, but apparently this is illegal, and kind of dangerous. So my brother called the Police, who told him to call LTA, I think- who said that they would issue a summons. I believe my brother even jokingly asked whether they were really going to do anything about it, and asked if he should put pictures on Facebook- to which whoever answered supposedly said, Sure, carry on, go ahead. Well, my brother returned that night, and noticed that the Cisco vehicle had reversed a little. But wait, there's more! Can you see it? There's a traffic summons! Wow, Cisco is really on the ball, huh? But wait
  5. Epic self pwn. Master Hui Jie (centre) is applying for an injunction to stop his mistress Ms Lim Sor Bee (right) from selling two properties under her name. She claims that their relationship soured after he started seeing a model (left). One of Singapore's most well-known geomancers is embroiled in a court battle with his mistress of 23 years over two properties worth more than $2.5 million. Better known as Master Hui Jie, Goh Chuen Meng, 47, of Hui Master International Geomancy is trying to prevent Ms Lim Sor Bee, 41, from selling a condominium unit he claims to own. Shin Min Daily News reported that the fengshui master claimed that Ms Lim, who is also the director of his geomancy company, was also trying to sell a Telok Kurau condominium unit he owned. Both properties are registered under Ms Lim's name. He also claims that he had paid for the properties but registered them under Ms Lim's name, after she suggested that he do so to avoid having to include the properties among matrimonial assets to be split in case he has a divorce with his wife. Ms Lim, however, claims that she had forked out $760,000 for the condominium unit in 2007, and $1.98 million for the terraced house in 2010. She also claims that Mr Goh had willingly helped to pay for part of the properties as "love gifts" to her to provide security for her future. Married since 1988, Mr Goh reportedly started an affair with Ms Lim, who was his personal assistant, a year after he got married. He and his Thai wife have a son and a daughter together. He also told the court that he had initially wanted a divorce but changed his mind after his wife got pregnant.
  6. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/02/g..._n_1934135.html http://www.gspirits.com A German liquor company is turning heads this week due to its limited-edition line of spirits, which the brand promises were all poured over a model's naked breasts before being bottled, the New York Daily News reports. The G-Spirits company, started by a pair of former bartenders, was founded on the principle that liquor is about both taste and that "special feeling" one gets when drinking. "For us there is nothing more than the erotism of a beautiful woman," the website states. "To create the perfect taste we let every single drop of our spirits run over the breasts of a special type of woman, a type we recognize in this liquor.' To that end, G-Spirits is offering rums, whiskeys and vodkas, every drop of which has been poured over a woman's chest. G. Rum No. 1 is described as an old sort of tropical rum, which is stored in a cask of French oak for 10 years before being poured willingly over 23-year-old Amina Malakona's breasts. G. Rum costs 129,00

  9. Help posting for someone... I have successfully collected my new car. Am giving away my 3.5 years (Reg Dec'08) Chery A5 for FREE. I am not taking a single cent from it. Still have 6.5 years to scrap. You just need to settle outstanding bank loan (abt $27k) and pay for LTA transfer related expenses. Mileage about 73,000 km and blue in colour, manual drive and accident free. However you might need some slight touch up and polishing to make it shine again. Market value about $35k. Can take it immediately once legally transferred and bank loan settle. If you are keen, just email me your name and contact. Make sure you are eligible to drive a MANUAL car and google about the information before asking for the free car. Cheers.
  10. Just now I was smoking downstairs, saw a bunch of monkey kids, after loitering at neighbouring void decks. After they are done w messing the place up, they walked away and 2 of them proceed to run and jump up a car and run across it.. they ran, jumped up onto a car boot and up the ceiling, then down the bonnet.. I see Liao cannot take it, went up and shouted at them to stop messing with other people's car. One teen even stopped n say "what?" I so angry ask them to duck off and stop messing other cars.. bloody hell if we are not seperated by a fence, I think I will run up and slap their face... Maybe they will wack me instead since they are 6 of them..haha The car they messed is a jaguar.. pity the owner...maybe the boys red eye see jaguar at public estate.. Really itchy legs and lousy behaved teenagers

  12. Saw today new paper on the residents complaining about HDB building BTO beside their Ang Mo Kio DBSS flats. One say there is a school around how to ensure safety of the children during construction? One say the dust and noise will affect their environment. One say the area there is very crowded after the BTO, how to make sure enough amenities for the resident there. One say should at least wait for 5 years later (MOP) so the DBSS resident can have a choice to move out. I think they just wanna say, the BTO will affect their DBSS price lar. Just be frank lar! [laugh]

  18. Why Taiwan can protect its people by not selling flats to foreigner we can't? All the taiwan 原住民 who own land or houses are exploit by foreigner who buy their land for cheap till government intervene and passes a law saying that no foreigner are allow to buy those land which they owned. what about us here. PR or foreigner can simply buy and sell for profits. See the article below for buying house in Taiwan. Foreign nationals, who are resident in Taiwan and hold an Alien Registration Card, are allowed to buy residential property in Taiwan, but only if Taiwan nationals are also entitled to buy property in the foreign national's home country, according to the "reciprocity rule". They are required to apply to the Ministry of Economic Affairs for approval of the intended purchase. Foreigners are not generally allowed to buy and sell property in Taiwan for profit, only for personal use or investment purposes. Individuals are usually only allowed to buy one piece of real estate. House prices in Taiwan have recently been increasing steadily, and in the third quarter of 2006, the average price of a residential home was TWD5.88 million (approximately US$181,000). Although this is not as high as in many western countries, prices are higher in Taiwan relative to average income. Prices are not expected to increase rapidly in the near future as there is a glut of properties on the market. Around 87% of Taiwan's population already own their own home. Foreign non-residents are subject to 20% tax on their gross income from sub-letting property in Taiwan, as well as an annual house tax of 1.38% of the current value of the property. Capital gains are subject to a tax rate of 20%. Under the Land Act (amended 2001), annual rents from residential property must be limited to 10% of the value of the property. A change in ownership of property must be registered with the local Land Registration Office. this 3 clause i sure will make them rich arse thinking about buying and loan and earning from our land. 20% tax on their gross income from sub-letting property in Taiwan, as well as an annual house tax of 1.38% of the current value of the property. Capital gains are subject to a tax rate of 20%
  19. I made use of autobacs free battery test and obtained the detailed print out reports. Over time, you can see the CCA of my battery dropping. With bro KB's advice, I have determined that my alternator charging is ok, but CCA is on the low side after 2 years. but it is still rated as "good battery". Battery details: 55B24R Brand: Trane Silver Battery. Cost: $102+ Rated: 520CCA (but initial battery test shows 570 CCA - quite POWER imho) You can see the 3 battery test reports below. Read from left to right, 1st report July 2010, then Dec 2011, then July 2012. Most recent test on the right. Will wait for bro KB and other battery experts to comment on the reports. For sharing purposes and to learn how to read the reports! And Finally, Thanks Autobacs!!!

  23. The shortage of parking spaces in the city could get even worse with Capitaland considering redeveloping the Golden Shoe Carpark now that its revamp of the former Market Street Carpark is under way. The 10-storey Golden Shoe, in Market Street, a stone's throw from Raffles Place MRT Station, contains 1,053 parking spaces with retail and food outlets on the first three levels. CapitaLand group president and chief executive Liew Mun Leong said it was always the company's intention to redevelop both carparks. 'It's a matter of timing... In 1996, when I was already (chief executive), we already had plans for both carparks. We need the approval of the Government... and then we have to see the timing of the demand for office space.' source: http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_763845.html
