Before buying the car - lots of excitement after getting hold of the car - still excited after 1-2 years later of driving the car - the luxury within is taken for granted 2-3years later of driving the car - most of the initial excitement lost - after a while, the owner driving the car appear to have "lost" the feeling the car is luxury to begin with, it becomes a means to get from point A to point B do you agree or disagree? Is it possible to get someone (e.g family member) to sell your own car while you are not around? Like if I give the person something like Power of Attorney? Does LTA allow? I will be out of town but I prefer to sell the car. Right now, too busy with work and not much time to make arrangements.

ST 2 May WHEN Audrey (not her real name) went to get her car on Thursday morning from the car park at her home, she found an empty lot. For over half an hour, she combed all the floors of the five-storey car park in Block 125A Kim Tian Road in frantic search of her four-month-old Suzuki Swift but could not find it. She covered the entire car park three times before giving up. Her brother drove her around the neighbourhood, but still, her grey car was nowhere to be seen. The IT consultant finally made a police report that her car had been stolen. Audrey, 35, said: 'It is incredulous... this is Singapore, I don't think it is that easy to steal a whole car like that.' Audrey who bought the car last December for about $57,000, said she last saw her car on Monday afternoon when she parked it on the second-storey after returning home from work. She was sure she had locked the car, which also has an alarm, and also wound up all the windows. Audrey did not use her car for the next three days as she does not drive to work everyday. It was only on Thursday when she was going to fill petrol at a nearby pump station that she found her car missing. Police said they are investigating the theft of the car - an offence which carries the maximum penalty of seven years' imprisonment and a fine.

She says: "I was standing with my car the entire time while this attendant insisted on ticketing my car. "She also took pictures of my car and me, which I don't think is right so I returned the favour by taking her picture . "The two attendants walked off without giving me the ticket they supposedly issued. They returned only 5 to 10 minutes later to hand me the ticket. "Are these people on commission? If so, that gives them more incentive to abuse their power, even to the point of issuing tickets while car owners are standing next to their car chatting with a friend. "A warning to all car owners that they have to put coupons on their car even if they are standing next to their cars waiting for 5 minutes."

This man was caught red-handed throwing an empty pack of cigarettes at a STOMPer's car, thanks to an on-board DVR camera. The STOMPer described the incident: "Look what litterbugs have done to my car! "This inconsiderate guy threw his empty cigarette pack right at my car. "His act was caught on DVR camera. My car was parked at 191c Rivervale Drive's multi-storey carpark . "The guy proudly throw his empty cigarette box onto my car thinking that nobody would know. "Such inconsiderate litter bugs should be fined severely!"

I thought it will be good to start a thread on this given that many car dealers want to charge their so called "football' or 'admin' fee for doing the paperwork. I think it is manageable and would save a couple of hundred bucks if we understand the paperwork trail. I, for one, need such assistance from our bros here. I just managed to sell my vehicle. It is still under Finance. My buyer indicated he is able to pay me in cash. So these are the steps i adopted. 1. Called my finance company to find out the figure/sum for 'Early Settlement'. 2. Asked my buyer to prepare two Cashier's Order (Cash will be too much as it is in excess of 100Ks), one for the outstanding for my Finance and the second will be for the sum of (Sale Price minus outstanding finance). 3. After the above is settled, buyer needs to prepare a cashier's order payable to LTA for Transger Fee. This amount can be gotten from onemotoring.com.sg , 4. With the above done and cleared, both parties proceed to LTA. Prior to that, buyer and seller must fill up Form M01 - application form for Transfer of Vehicle. All NRICs must be brought down. Is that all, may I ask? What if the buyer needs Finance? How is it done? Let's compile the processes. -

Hi, Witnessed an accident at the open air car park along AMK ave 8, behind the Esso petrol station today at about 1230pm. A van had crashed into 2 cars there. I've left a note on both cars to say I witness it, plus also left my contact with the Esso car wash guys. The van driver did come down to take a look (after scanning around and saw me nearby =P), but he just scribbled some numbers and left it on one of the cars only. Do contact me (90238538) if you need me as a witness for your claims. The owner of the other car (much more serious damage) had called me, and I've given him all necessary particulars. thanks
