SINGAPORE — The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded a contract totalling $1.03 billion for the Bulim and Sembawang-Yishun bus packages to Tower Transit Singapore (TTS). The five-year contract will start progressively from the second quarter of 2021. If TTS were to perform well over the period, the LTA has the option to extend the contract term by another two years thereafter. TTS currently operates the Bulim package, consisting of 29 bus services running from Bulim Depot. It will continue to manage Bukit Batok and Jurong East bus interchanges. The Sembawang-Yishun package, which is currently operated by SMRT Buses, consists of 27 bus services. These services will operate from the new Mandai Depot, which will be handed over to TTS by next month. TTS will also manage Sembawang and Yishun bus interchanges. The tender for the two bus packages was called on 29 November 2019 and bus operators had the option to bid for either bus package or for both packages. Affected SMRT employees of the Sembawang–Yishun bus package must be offered a job by the incoming operator, at employment terms that are not worse off than before the transition. Since the move to the bus contracting model, Singapore’s bus industry has benefited from the entry of two new operators, TTS and Go-Ahead Singapore, the LTA said. “This has created more job opportunities for bus workers and levelled up the industry, where the bus workforce now enjoys better working conditions as well as employment terms and conditions.” Meanwhile, National Transport Workers’ Union (NTWU) Executive Secretary and Radin Mas MP Melvin Yong said NTWU will work closely with SMRT and TTS to ensure that all affected workers will have a smooth transition. “The Union is committed to work with the different public transport operators to take care of our bus workers and create a safe working environment for them.” https://sg.news.yahoo.com/tower-transit-singapore-awarded-1-b-deal-to-operate-bulim-sembawang-yishun-bus-packages-122556850.html Seems the bus services operated by SMRT getting lesser and lesser.

Anyone does servicing package in Cycle & Carriage? Is it necessary to does servicing in Cycle & Carriage in order to valid the warranty? I know some of them does servicing at outside but still could claim warranty from the AD. Care to share is there a clause somewhere or any legal term to fight against?

The maid thread reminded me that my previous maid had left some of her old stuff with me. About 40kg. She was a solid maid. High recommended. I wanna send it back to her on the cheap. DHL says $454 . $454 will defintely exceed the value of the items. Any ideas? time is of no concern.

Only applicable to citizens born before 1949 and is citizen before1986. This one really targeted born singaporean family and not new citizens. I have always thought there should be some differentiation between "new citizens" vs those singapreans that are born and raised here. Even though I don't qualify (not that old) it is going to help my family because both my inlaws and my mom qualifies :)

I'm planning to change my aging & 15% thread balance tyres to a new set coupled with rims since cheaper to take both. Rim is battered and seems not balanced already as over 5 yrs old and a used rims at that time. Just need to know where is the cheapest place in the West with a huge variety of rims to choose from. Been to Stamford, Autobac and Hankook tyres and quoted at Stamford 16" SSW rims (any design) with Falken 522 / 912 (now running on) is going for $988/- of opt for Continental ContactSport 2 is $1348/- Hankook offer 16" rims with ?? S2 (cannot remember) tyres for $1100/- but only 2 choices and not very interested in the design of rims Autobac is out as too expensive even after trade in existing rims is the same as non trade in at Stamford. Limited boring design for my car. Thought of Poh Kim but not gone there yet to research. Partially they only accept cash but I prefer to earn rebates through my credit card. Any other suggestions?

just curious.. is there such a package in MY? ive heard of friends driving their own car up to Sepang for racing but are there companies in SG or MY that offers rental car that can be raced on MY tracks? theres Pegasus Racing Asia in SG for Formulae Renault cars but I couldnt find any for GT cars. if there is, please kindly share with me! gam xia!

Hi bros, Super angry with Singpost / Speedpost.. Received a delivery advice for a package coz i wasn't at home when they delivered on Sat. Wanted to transfer the article to a PO nearer my WS but when i key in my Article Number, they tell me "Sorry, we are unable to process your request. Kindly contact our Speedpost Hotline for assistance. Thank you." Okay, I call their hotline. Am slowly directed to key in my Article number, and same thing, error. Also dun seem to be able to get to talk to a REAL PERSON no matter wad option i select.. Doesn't help that there's no email address anywhere on their website to write to also. Can any bro help??

Hi all, wish to consult you guys on one matter, to cut a long story short. my !@#@!$ wife went to some kinda free facial trial, (didn't do in the end) then sweet talk, sweet talk sign this $2800 plan. i OT, so she went alone, if not i definately will not allow her to make such a hasty decision. Its not exactly malicious or bad-apple company, but due to certain medical condition, i think i should bring the leaflets of chemicals compounds used to my doctor to let him see if the facial chemicals might/will/should complicate existing conditions. and of cos, the sales person say, "can one, no problem one." whoever did sale b4 will know the convince-confuse-con rule. (sorry to sterotype) angry for 1) make decision never consult me (although she never say i pay) 2) make decision never research or think when there is existing medical reasons to be concerned 3) sales person to make a sale, might/might not lie but i do not want my wife to put herself to test if the products are ok. Called the Credit Card company last night cannot cancel/reverse/block. the most they can do is to "note" in their system. Will call the facial company to not process the trade, refund/reverse, although i think they won't but i will kpkb until they do it. Objective: a) get the reversal of CC charges b) bring the list of chemicals to my doctor to verify and if doc say ok, we will go back to the facial company, since wife think the facial is super good and very impt to do, don't do will die. Note: due to the medical condition, even the free trial was not administered, but instead sales person immediately move on to sell plan. Advice: what else do i need to do? Very (Dulan + concerned) worried man
