  2. Spotted these while shopping for new pads, backing and adhesive has been improved. They seem to be machine washable now. Has anyone tried them? Not too sure if foam compound has been changed, the finishing pad is now black in colour. Pics taken from http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=155

My current stock pads are wearing out soon , and was thinking of chnging to mintex. but i am worried that my rotors might not be able to take the mintexs. 5. Hi guys and gals, Anyone interested in ceramic brake pads. Still trying to sell mine after I updated to bigger brake kit. Axxis Ultimate: Axxis Ultimate is a kevlar- and ceramic-strengthened compound which offers far and away the best price to performance ratio currently available in a high-performance street pad. Proper bedding procedure is critical to the performance of this pad, but once complete, you can expect truly world-class bite, MOT, minimal rotor and pad wear, and very low noise levels. Dust production is medium-to-high. On front-engine platforms, the Ultimate is excellent for aggressive street and autocross use in the front calipers. It also works very well in the rear, for applications ranging from aggressive street to moderate track use. Ultimate is NOT recommended for use on road courses in front calipers as this can cause uneven pad deposition on rotors as well as resultant vibration. Street and autocross use only. OK for club-level track use in rear calipers. Suitable for Octavia, Golf IV and Fabia. Might be suitable on other similar VW/Audi platform. PM me if interested.
  6. Sometime ago, my brake pads were worn out and I went to stockist shop, Min Ghee, to purchase original brake pads. I paid about S$80 dollars for a front pair. Recently, I was told by a colleague that there are different grades for original brake pads and mine which I have bought could be OEM since it cost me only S$80 dollars. I was told that the real original brake pad from car manufacturer is from Japan and it will not cost so cheap as S$80. I was quoted S$150 dollars a pair for the front pair. Is there such a thing as different grades for original brake pads? I only heard about original and OEM brake pads but it was something new to me about different grades of original brake pads.
