Dear all Just managed to get my hands on an orbital buffer. Had 2 pcs of terry cloth wraps and a wool wrap that came with the buffer. Question: Which do I use for the application of polish? I think it's the terry cloth right? Then the wool mint wrap for polishing? If the wax I'm using doesn't say it's ok for orbital, can I still use machine to apply and then buff to shine? Scratching my head thinking what's the diff btw these 3 pads...apparently, the website recommended using the M1144 material, so which of these use the M1144 material?

Hi guys, How do you guys maintain your foam pads? Do you wash them? The video @ Meguiar's website strongly advise against washing the pads. Instead, it is best to place them in the orginal plastic bag and then, lightly hit it several times before using them again. Just purchased two Meguiar's foam pads, want to know the right way to maintain them as they don't come cheap.

changed my nissan brake pads a few mths ago. realised that the pedal distance is longer before i can feel the same solid braking force compared to my old brake pads. not sure if it's psychological but I replaced with stock pads. is it the air in the brake fluid playing up on me and should i go for a vacuum bleed or flush?

After changing to super ritz fuses, can tell the improvement in air-con (colder), when pressing down pedal(smoother and no more stodgy) and engine (smoother feel). I paid $98 for changing 7 fuses. Also the bendix king brake pads are also good. Driving my optra just gets better.

Time to replace my baby's badly worn out disc rotors and brake pads. I'll be collecting my new disc rotors from Korea, and using Mintex Silverline. Anyone knows of a cheap reliable workshop for the job? I gather it should cost around S$80.

Just like to check if there are any recommended spots (value for money), to replace the stock rotor with OEM sized Brembo Max and matching Mintex pads? TIA.

Hi All, I sent my Jazz in for 30K servicing and KM told me that my front brake pads are worn out..is it possible for the pads to worn out so fast? I dun do much hard braking...are they smoking me? They charging $140 for the parts and labour. :shock: Anybody knows of any workshop that can do the same job for a cheaper price? Preferably low brake dust pads. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, will need to replace my front brake disc and pads soon and I can't decide which option to go for. I am thinking of the following options :- 1) OEM disc and pads 2) Brembo high carbon disc and OEM pads 3) Black diamond disc (slotted) and pagid pads If I use performance disc, is it advisable to use performance pads as well or can I just use the OEM pads? By the way, mine is a Saab 9-5 2.0LPT. Would appreciate any advise from the gurus.

Bros, Dudes, Comrades, I had the pleasure of attending and speaking to Mintex ppl here in Singapore on Saturday. The Mintex guys are very concerned about their floating rumours about bad braking and sounds from their pads. They have offered and would like to inform the VAG community that should any such incidents that might occure on their pads, please have their Mintex Authorised Warranty Centre checked. Also, they would like to hold a meet the owners session where suggestions and feedback can be exchanged. Although i might not have a very credible background here in MCF, but trust that this is for the better of ourselves. Learning more is better than knowing nothing. This session is offered to the VAG owners only, I would appreciate very much that those interested could give a show of interest.

recently every morning when i start driving my car, there are some screeching sound when i step in the brakes, the sound will disappear after driving for abt 2-3 minutes. is it a sign my brake pads is wearing out or sth else?

I've been looking around for new brake pads for my 206. Tried McWell and Autowerke but they dun have stock. Anyone knows of any other places that carry Mintex or EBC Greenstuff for Pugs?? Thanks!
