  1. Yesterday, parked my car at Bugis from 2 plus till around 11pm. Parking charge came out to be close to $10. Before that I thot the charge will be based on the following calculation: 1. 2pm to 5pm = $1.20 x 3hrs = $3.60 2. 5pm to 11pm = $2.00 per entry 3. Total = $5.60. But I think the charge becomes: $1.2 x 8hrs. So it means the charges are calculated based on the time you drive in the car?
  2. Hi All. I parked at HDB MSCP using cashcard & noticed that sometimes for short periods there is no deduction to my cashcard. Anybody knows what is the official "grace period" when parking there? Also several private carparks using cashcard also has a grace period. Can we state down those we know for benefit of forumers here? My contribution: 1. Thomson Plaza - 15 mins.
  3. Can you do it in certain time? try it http://www.sgwayoflife.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=546
  4. i was caught wif used parking coupons from HDB personnel... they ask me to wait for a letter to attend court... was wondering if anybody here had this experience before??? wanted to know wat is the penalty for it...thanx
  5. Hi! All, Found a bit of scratches on my car on 2 days ago when washing. Think it should have been cause by another car when opening doors...common problems which I believe will always happen... Attached are 2 (not so clear) pictures taken with my handphone camera. My car is mica black and scratches is light blue. Need advice on how to remove the scratches...Thanks in advance!
  6. Just curious, can one use the night parking coupon to park in the day? i always kana fined though i put it for the day. or am i wrong? moreover, what does the pm before midnight or am after midnight stand for? very confusing!
  7. Kenna RM30 parking fine when I was having my haircut in Malaysia. Park just outside the barber shop and saw this parking warden in front of my car, punching away on his handheld gadget (Finally MY also go computerised ). So I walk out and try to talk to him, but this guy is good - damn fast at giving out summon. The next thing I saw was a computerised summon slip placed on my windscreen. He even apologized and walked off. This kind of "talent" will be much sought after by HDB/URA A slightly more expensive haircut this time, but the barber skill is good. A satisfying haircut Now question, where do I pay this summon? Now computerised liao, must pay up to avoid problems in future. Last time was hand-written pink B5 size summon.

  17. Taken from todays ST paper.... Why no free parking on Saturdays I REFER to the letter, 'Review Saturday carpark charges' (ST, Sept 30), by Mr Danny Tan. HDB carparks are provided primarily to serve the residents. Residential carparks are usually heavily utilised on weekends. Waiving parking charges for non-residents during this period, when demand is at its peak, would result in congestion in the carpark and deprive residents of their parking lots. Hourly parking charges help to regulate demand and ensure that residents need not compete with visitors. As many families get together during weekends and public holidays, HDB has implemented the Free Parking Scheme (FPS) for Sundays and public holidays (from 7am to 10.30pm) to promote social interaction and foster family ties. About 1,450 out of the 1,800 HDB carparks are under the FPS. The suitability of a carpark for FPS is assessed in consultation with the local grassroots organisations and the Land Transport Authority. One main consideration is whether FPS will compromise the parking needs of the residents. HDB has received feedback similar to Mr Tan's suggestion on free parking on Saturdays and are monitoring the situation and reviewing the arrangement to see how it can be improved. 18. Hi all, try this ... http://adverts.freeloader.com/zurich/ Quite addictive. My high score to date is only 376
  19. Are Reverse/Parking Sensors paintable? I've seen them being sold in different colours, but I've also seen some on cars which are colour coded with the car in colours obviously not sold OEM. So I guess that they've been sprayed over. Am I correct? If they've been resprayed over, can still work properly?

  21. Understood from HDB website that season car parking registration is on the 11th of every month. Also there's a 2 weeks processing time. So, the worst case scenario is one gets his new car on the 12th and have to wait for the 11th of the next month in order to register for season parking and wait another 2 weeks before approval. Meanwhile, park by coupon. Am I correct to say so? Anyone, please advise..appreciated.
  22. Hi, Just curious to find out from you guys. Have you wonder why the centre teaches parking using the black and white guide poles? I understand way back it was the trend but now it seem like it's not really the most effective methods? They should fix up some fake car bumpers or whatever to simulate actual scenarios as to simulate vertical or parallel parking in between other vehicles. I believe most of us that passed from the centres have to spent sometimes to orientate ourselves to park in car parks or parallel lots without the guide poles. Guess they do that to squeeze more money from the trainees as when we pass the test , the sales personnel will approach us with the freshie driver orientation course that teaches us parking without poles and driving up multi-storey carparks and the course cost another couples bucks to register. Shouldn't this be include in the lessons? BTW, anyone have any comments to share or any effective methods for parking without the aid of guide poles. Cheerios
  23. I know I have gotten used to the reverse parking sensors on my car now. Why ? Because I drove my brother-in-law's car a week back and almost reversed it into my neighbour's nice Nissan Sunny. (There was no beeping sound. Ah ! No sensors.) This is really hazardous. I have to keep telling myself "Check the rear, check the rear.". In the past it was the confusion when driving an automatic car and another one with a manual gearshift. I kept stepping on the non-existent clutch in the auto car.
  24. where can i get such a thing? so no need peel off the decal everytime change month...
