  1. Hi bros, got a question to ask if anyone experienced the same situation and how you went abt it... Yesterday went Malaysia to visit relatives for CNY. Stopped at a traffic junction when suddenly a Malaysian Truck rammed towards the line of cars waiting at the traffic junction ahead. In total there were 5 cars damaged. Malaysia Truck -> Malaysia Car -> SG Car -> SG Car -> my Car -> Malaysian car I am thinking of going for 3rd party claim against the SG car that hit my car. The car in front of my car does not want pursue and drove off cos minor damages. While my bonnet caved in, the engine is intact and radiator is leaking. Boot is caved in too. As radiator leaking I asked the tow company that approached me at scene to tow my car back SG. But the tow company said traffic at customs too heavy yesterday and today so will do it tmr. This tow company works with a SG workshop that is also an authorized workshop for a insurance company in Singapore. My car will be towed back SG to my workshop tmr, so I thought can ask some suggestions here as to whether wise to claim 3rd party against the SG car behind me. Any advice? Thanks in advanced. All of the cars involved made police report at TP yesterday. The SG car that hit me out in the police report that it hit my car. I took pictures of his and my police report.

  3. Hi all. Sorry if my topic title is not clear. Made a 3rd party claim this year. Then, a few month later, received a lawyer invoice to pay lawyer fee. Wrote back to the lawyer to ask why I need to pay since its a 3rd party claim? The lawyer replied that the legal costs is a different issue from the cost of repair. Workshop claim legal fee...no? If i pay the legal fee can I claim it back from the workshop? Need your advice. Thanks.
  4. hi.., can recommend some activity for children party? maybe like magician or clown or ... perhaps not print tatoo or twist baloon. can share what is in for children b'day party? the party is for my girl 8 years old. thanks in advance for any idea.
  5. Buying a high-end 2nd hand car and thinking about whether to buy 3rd party warranty. One of them is cybercar warranty. http://www.cyberwarranty.com.sg/about-us Seems not very known. Has anyone any experience with them? Any other 3rd party warranty to recommend?
  6. Should the workshop proceed to do the repair even without the other party's surveyor assessing ? What can be the consequences?
  7. Hi bros, Anybody can recommend external workshops that specialise in Toyotas and offer reasonable pricing for routine servicing intervals? BM just up the price for their maintenance package. Min is 300+, very siong.
  8. My car waiting stationary in line to enter a carpark was hit by a careless motorist exiting a carpark. 2 weeks later, I found out from the 3rd party investigator that she claimed that my car hit hers while entering the carpark. Fortunately I managed to get the carpark CCTV recording (after a lot of trouble/time spent) showing the truth. What is the best way to penalize such a liar? I am rather pissed off that she attempted to paint me as the guilty one. I want justice. If a person make a false police report, if found out, sure kena punished. So in this case, a false insurance report - will she be punished? I don't mind engaging a lawyer to handle her. What's your take on this? Thank you for hearing me out....,

  12. last wkend, a taxi hit my car at the left side headlight & bumper area.. there is some scratches at the side & dent and the headlight is broken.. As it was the 1st time i involved in an accident, i did not know what to do, & i only take down the taxi driver particulars without his contact number , without taking any photo of the accident scene and the taxi vehicle.. Then i visit this workshop which my fren service once b4.. & i followed the workshop boss 's advice to file a report at IDAC. Then he tell me he will repair it for me for FREE without me paying anything since i already filed a 3rd Party Claim. He claimed that if i filed to get any claim, he will bear the costs himself for the repair & spare parts including those surveyor and legal fees.. How come got such good deal? can anyone advice how come the workshop quoted me for free? If let's say the workshop failed to claim the taxi insurance, can the workshop claim my insurance without me knowing? Is it possible that if he failed to claim the 3rd party insurance, he wont return me my car unless i pay him cash or he claimed my insurance? Expert Pls Advice.. Lastly any cheap & reliable workshop person i can contact to check on my condition and help me filed a 3rd party claim..
  13. Former Workers Party candidate for Nee Soon GRC Mr Sajeev Kamalasanan has resigned from the Workers Party last night by emailing his resignation letter to WP Secretary-General Low Thia Kiang and Chairman Sylvia Lim. In a press statement emailed to The Temasek Times, Mr Rajeev wrote he was disappointed that WP did not make him a cadre despite his substantial contributions to the party. “I am disappointed that the party has not been able to formally recognise my contributions, and going forward, I see little way in me playing a meaningful and constructive part within the party,” he wrote. Mr Rajeev added that he was roped in to contest in the General Election last year by Chairman Sylvia Lim in the last minute and he had expected to be named a cadre, but his name was omitted because he had stopped serving in Ms Lim’s Meet-the-People session. “I feel let down and betrayed by the WP leadership, in whom I had put my trust and faith in, and for whom I made substantial sacrifice by stepping forward to serve. I therefore have no choice but to part ways with WP,” he ended. Mr Sajeev is the fourth candidate to leave the Workers Party since last year’s General Election after former Hougang MP Yaw Shin Leong, former East Coast GRC candidate Mohamed Fazli Talip and WP veteran Eric Tan. His resignation came as the Workers Party is preparing for a by-election in Hougang after Mr Yaw was sacked for his failure to address swirling rumors around his alleged extramarital affairs with multiple women, including two prominent female leaders in the party. In response to queries from the media, WP Chairman Sylvia Lim questioned the timing of Mr Rajeev’s abrupt resignation and asked if there is need to air internal party matters publicly. ================================================================================ =================================== Full Press Statement by Sajeev Kamalasanan on Resignation from The Workers’ Party May 13, 2012 With immediate effect, I regret to announce my resignation as a member of The Workers’ Party (WP). The reason for my resignation is my dissatisfaction with the WP’s cadreship selection system. I joined WP as an ordinary member in 2006 following the 2006 General Elections, believing that the party was a credible and alternative voice for Singaporeans. Due to work and other commitments, I was, however, inactive and did not contribute to the party in any significant way until a phone call from the party’s Chairman, Ms Sylvia Lim, about six weeks before the 2011 General Elections. The party was looking to field an Indian candidate in Nee Soon GRC and Ms Sylvia requested me to step forward. It was an unexpected but important request and after due consideration, I turned her down as I felt that I was not the right person for it. However, Ms Sylvia persisted, saying that the party was in urgent need for an Indian candidate for this GRC (the two other Indian candidates Mr Pritam Singh and Mr Somasundaram were fielded for Aljunied and Moulmein-Kallang GRCs). I finally relented as I agreed with her vision of doing something worthwhile for our country and democracy. With my wife’s support, I immediately put all my family and work commitments aside and got right into the campaign and electioneering foray. The WP Nee Soon GRC team went on to clinch a respectable 41.6% of the votes and I was happy to have played a part in giving Nee Soon residents the opportunity to exercise their right to vote in the general elections. After the general elections, I was selected to be a member for the Aljunied Constituency Committee (AJCC) - Serangoon Division, under Ms Sylvia Lim. Every week, I helped out at her (Meet-the-People sessions) MPS and was also roped into the division’s grassroots events. The highlight of my contribution was when I was given the responsibility of a Chairperson for the Aljunied GRC’s first Deepavali event celebration in 2011. At the party level, I was also active at the weekend Hammer sales. Around CNY 2012, I had to stop my volunteer work at her MPS sessions as I started attending a part time course which coincided with the day and timing of the MPS sessions. While I never did expect any formal recognition for my contributions towards the party, I was disappointed to see most of the 2011 ex-candidates and ordinary members around me being nominated and given party cadreship quite easily following the general elections. I had also heard from existing cadre members that Ms Sylvia had privately made reference to a group of “problematic” ex-candidates that are not given cadreship and I started wondering if I was one of them. I finally questioned Ms Sylvia about why she never considered nominating me for party cadreship and was not satisfied with her explanations: 1) That it has been the party’s experience that Indians tend to leave after getting party cadreship; and 2) That (she had wanted to nominate me but) I had abruptly stopped contributing at her MPS sessions. I feel that it is unfair to consider all Indians as uncommitted to the party and if this has been WP’s experience, the right thing for WP is to reflect on what it might be doing to contribute to this and perhaps arrest this problem if it considers and aspires itself to be the alternative voice of all Singaporeans. With this mindset, I see no possibility of me being able to play any meaningful and constructive part in the party, save for being a showpiece for the minority candidate ticket come elections time. I feel let down and betrayed by the WP leadership, in whom I had put my trust and faith in, and for whom I made substantial sacrifice by stepping forward to serve. I therefore have no choice but to part ways with WP. Thank you. Sajeev Kamalasanan

  16. place : simei street 3, in front of changkat primary school. source : CAR B. CAR A was rushing?? and wanted to overtake CAR B on simei st 3. (in front of CGH towards simei mrt) however, the road was quite crowded and CAR A was unable to overtake CAR B. worse still, an ambulance exited CGH infront of CAR B and CAR B stopped to give way to the ambulance. that made CAR A even more angry ! and when CAR A finally squeezed up beside CAR B, CAR A stayed beside CAR B - to show him the "finger!!" CAR B reportedly ignored the gesture. However, after the "finger", CAR A saw a bus had stopped in front of him and CAR A still wanted to overtake CAR B and made a sudden swerve infront of CAR B but still swiped CAR B side in the process. but the climax was after the bus stop was a traffic light and people were crossing the road. As CAR A had accelerated to cut between the bus and CAR B, he was unable to stop at the lights and ended up mounting the kerb and hitting a tree and some railings to avoid the pedestrians. note : all this while CAR A has a child in the car. this is from CAR B ... CAR A got any story ??
  17. Example 100% win case but 3rd party insurance discharged their client based on some internal arrangement. In this case, cannot claim from 3rd party because they no longer cover the person that caused the accident. How do you deal with this? Claim OD? Or engage a lawyer and bring the driver to court?
  18. Hougang by-election to take place on May 26 Published on May 9, 2012 Hougang voters will go to the polls on May 26 in a by-election to fill former Workers' Party MP Yaw Shin Leong's seat in Parliament. The writ of election was issued today by the President, stating that Nomination Day will be on May 16, after which nine days of campaigning will commence. Despite rampant speculation, PM Lee did not call for a by-election in any other constituency, limiting it to Hougang's 25,000 voters. The Hougang seat became vacant after Mr Yaw was expelled from the WP on Feb 14 for refusing to account to the party leadership for his behaviour, including allegedly having extra-marital affairs.
  19. Anyone encountered Starfug bills that came with some downloads by third party provider called Mobile in motion? My 2nd phone with a basic plan of $33 choke up a total $445 for 2 months. basically phone was left in the car with minimal usage. called them up and they said i subscribe to the service. 20. Not sure how much my insurance liability for third party claims is. Is it the same to hit a Zonda or RollRoyce in Singapore? Insurance boh chup? Young driver faces financial ruin after clipping Rolls-Royce NANJING, China - A young man in Jiangsu, stands to face financial ruin after clipping a brand-new Rolls-Royce Phantom in the city of Nanjing, according to Chinese media reports. The 21-year-old man surnamed Liu, works as a chef for 2,000 yuan (S$402)
  21. Hi my friends, I was reading through some stuff and got confused, hopefully some brothers here can clarify for me. 1)In the event of an accident that is 70/30 or 80/20 in favour, is it better to claim OD or 3rd party? 2)Was told if don't claim OD, after 14 days cannot claim liao. Does that mean if cost to fix is low e.g. $800 and excess is high e.g. $600, claim 3rd party better? 3)The only reason to claim OD first is to fix car fast, other than that if car can still be driven, go for 3rd party better? 4)OD will affect NCD and premium or either one only? 5)Any other tips on claim OD or 3rd party Thanks guys, appreciate it!
  22. Guy, someone just ram his car onto my nissan rear bumper. So I am sending down my car to a workshop and claim third party. I am thinking of sending to TanCheong but I remember the last time, it was quite a hassle as Tan Cheong does not do third party claims. They will wait for insurance approval BEFORE starting repairs which can take quite some time... I don't think it has changed now right? If I don't want to send to Tancheong, I need to go another workshop which will do third party claims. I am with Chartis insurance so I need to send it to the following workshops within 24 hours for reporting and repair. Any recommendations? Which workshop below is the best and will proceed with my repair immediately and claim third party for me? money is not an issue as I am claiming third party. Thanks for any help. 24. A controversial party to be held at Chijmes this Saturday has been called off. After a one-hour closed-door meeting between the management of Chijmes and organisers of the Escape Chapel Party, it was decided that the party will be nixed, reported The Straits Times. RELATED STORIES 'Chapel party' images draw flak The meeting between Perennial (Singapore) Retail Management, which manages Chijimes and event organiser Creative Insurgence was called last night, said the paper. Perennial had told the organiser that it would face legal action if it did not cancel the party. The party, which was to be held on Black Saturday, had raised eyebrows due to the provocative images used to promote it. In one image, two young women were dressed in skimpy nun-like habits. While habits normally cover the whole leg, the outfits the women wore were shorter than mid-thigh length. It was posted on the Facebook page, with the caption "A sneak peek at what some of our girls will be wearing on the 7th of April." The page also featured an event poster, with a woman also dressed in a habit-like outfit. In an earlier my paper report, Archbishop Nicholas Chia of the Catholic Church in Singapore said that the event "is scandalous to the Church" and that "such events should not be held in a chapel". Chijmes, which was established in 1854, was previously the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus before a $100-million restoration project transformed it into a lifestyle destination in 1996. According to the my paper report, Creative Insurgence's director, Mr Aaghir Yadav, said they had taken down the images and apologised to the Catholic church. He also said the women in the photos are friends of his in cosplay costumes. He denied that there was any religious symbolism in the photos. Mr Yadav also claimed that the party was named because of its location, Chijmes. Chijmes' management, however, has said that it strongly disapproves events held there that are 'illegal and immoral in nature and/or disrespectful of religions, faiths and races'.
