  4. Just how long u think she will need? There is no mention of how long she is intend to look into it. Not that i am questioning her abilities , there is a big difference between problem solving and wayang kulit , no offense but i seriously doubt she fits the job given to her. If she say the problem need 3 years we give her 3 years when others can probably get it solve in 1? Seriously problems like that , she should give us the confident look to show us that she can HANDLE the problem , not show us the SHACK look showing that she can't. If you can't even sort out your image , how do you think of my impression of you in handling this potential crisis? Seriously , she never even serve NS , show us the shack cannot think face how to be confident in her? If your officer give you this kind of face , would you shake your head? http://www.channelnewsasia.com/components/...p?id=475489?123 Given last time , if the train stopped , the CEO would be the first one to inspect what is wrong , as with the 1st gen politicians. Now the 3rd gen ? Sit in office? Hide at home? Seriously , the minister even without sleep should allocate all the resources they can find and sort this out immediately , even if it means employing the civil defense dept to help since if nothing happen they are just siting there. What happen to the fluid co-operation between garmen and private sector? One have s--t the others stand at side look? You guys telling me that those "practice" crisis management on terrorist attacks cannot be used here? HARLO ???? Stop dreaming!!! Same what got problem , use the resources lah , 3 days in the row on a NATIONAL transport where everyone needs it , you should treat this as important as a terrorist attack , it affect national interest as the economic damage is greater than what you think, to MS Saw if you need help , open your mouth and ASK for help! To those minister that aren't taking public transport which i assume 100% of them , time to wake up , your "prompt" actions are required. I as a voter is looking at how you are intending to drag this issue? While you cut COE quotas to open up traffic , yet u allow the most important public transport to break down so many times in the matter of a few days and SORRY is what we get?
  5. Hi all, Friends asking to go Europe package from M Asia Travel. I believed it's a small time travel agency who sub out land tour to the local agents. Price wise cheaper than some big names. Just want to hear if anyone personally took up their services/heard anything from them before? Thanks.
  6. Chance upon this news and I don't know if most people knew about it.....I for 1 do not know HSBC Fine Print Submitted by hallion on April 27, 2011 - 8:48pm HSBC upgraded their ATM cards in the past several months, Customers were told within a few weeks the old card will expire even know I still had months if not 1 year to left, all sounds good. What HSBC didn't tell their customers that once you use started using the new card your old conditions agreement was void and new agreement give the bank the right to sell your personal details all in small fine print ! I have looked at my old ATM card customers agreement (Small Print) and the new customers agreement side by side, HSBC has added this clause into the new customers agreement, tell you that HSBC has the right to pass on / sell your personal details for marketing etc. Since I've started using my new ATM, I get SMS / calls selling services etc by HSBC or agents. Today I was in my Local branch, 2 other people were complaining about the same think. HSBC staff were very red faced when this was brought to thier attention in black and white about the "upgrade " to the small print. Every customer need to be a where of this new clause.
  7. Lim Hwee Hua: Low arrogant and more personal in his attacks 04:46 AM May 06, 2011 She has been accused of a personal attack on Mr Low Thia Khiang - but PAP candidate Lim Hwee Hua said it is the Workers' Party (WP) chief who has been getting personal and arrogant. Mrs Lim, at a PAP rally in Aljunied GRC last night, referred to Mr Low's accusation that she was out to discredit him with her comments about the finances of Hougang Town Council. Mrs Lim, who denied launching a personal attack, said she had merely asked why the WP was not providing residents of a HUDC estate details of their sub-accounts with the town council. "I had merely repeated a question which his own HUDC residents have asked repeatedly. Mr Low has become very defensive," she said. Mr Low had explained on Tuesday that the separation of accounts was taking time as they wanted to get it right. Mrs Lim also noted that, early on in the campaign, Mr Low had likened contesting Aljunied GRC to approaching the tiger's mountain. "George (Yeo) protested, he said, 'Do we look like tigers?' But what did Mr Low say? He said that George's Mandarin was bad and he said that George needs tutoring in Mandarin." When asked why he chose to contest in Aljunied, Mr Low had said it was "to teach us a lesson", she added. "Now I ask you who is more personal? "Mr Low Thia Khiang is way more personal in his attacks and he is arrogant." Mrs Lim also focused on how Singapore's system must not become rigid nor its Government become "empty of feelings". Citing the frustrations of singles looking after their elderly parents without benefit of incentives and full-time mothers who were not eligible for tax and childcare incentives, she said: "Sometimes, the rules trip them up." She pledged that the PAP team in the GRC would "listen more carefully" and push for refinements to the rules that would better meet constituents' needs. -------- http://www.todayonline.com/Singapore/EDC11...-in-his-attacks

  10. Bro/sis, Recently, I'm into all these retirement and protection planning thingy... Just wondering which insurance company you've bought into and what's your recommendation to scout for good ones? I got a friend's gf who quoted me about $700 a month for $320K coverage (death, critcal illness and perm. disability) with non-guaranteed cash value of about $280K at the end of 28 years. Based on my calc, of the cash value over principal amount, it yields only about 1.6+% per annum Is this pathetic % normal? Is the % standard or at agent's discretion? (may be to get better comm?) Thanks in advance! Cain
  11. Hi, Hope the Admins and Seniors can help to explain to how post personal ad at marketplace and not get deleted. I find the guidelines are too general and people might unknowingly cross the line. So far I got 2 ads being deleted due to violation of rules, but the items I am trying to clear are from my personal use. Some how or the other I need to sell them away. Hope to receive some guidance. Cheers. Regards.
  12. A lot of people has been complaining about CPF and also we pay so much tax but standard of living is 3rd world as compared to other 1st world countries. I have did up a poll with a few 1st world countries tax structure and the personal income tax we be paying based on our current annual income. I chose the 4 most popular countries and nearest to us as comparison. Those with high tax rate has great welfare but are you willing to pay for those that do not work and laze around the whole day? Also, knowing MCFers, they will say the govt median salary is bluff one and only MCFers won't lie, won't speed, will give way, won;t take unecessary loan etc... in short SAINTS... RICH SAINTS in fact (judging by the median i got) so i use a MCF poll instead as comparsion to get the median salary. 13. Hi all, Is it a social norm to display one's family photos, GF, BF, Pet photos on office desk or the wall and etc? I heard of company forbidding employee to pin any personal photos in office. It is deemed non-professional and violate clean desk policy . A HR friend told me putting these photos may be used a morale booster and also mean the employee is a more committed staff. True? What do you think? Regards,
  14. Been searching for a personal camcorder for awhile now and I have managed to narrow down my search very slightly.. Budget should be about $700++ although the cheaper the better! I also want one with an internal hard disk, or some kind of memory. I don't what those that that writes to a DVD. Image stabilization should be respectable, I don't require the best in the market. Full HD is an added bonus but I don't know if I have to burst my budget for that. Respectable battery life of about 6 hours. All salesmen say the same thing that the batt can last 6 hours and image stabilization is very good for WHICHEVER cam I am holding so I'm looking for personal experiences..

  20. http://www.todayonline.com/Singapore/EDC09...earch-directory WHEN telecommunications engineer Chua Kim Cheng saw the People Search function at the Red Nano website, he decided to test it. He typed in his name - and was shocked to see his particulars and address listed. The full addresses of others living in his block were also listed. Mr Chua said he had not given any consent to SPH Search, which runs the Red Nano website, to list his personal details in the public domain. "Imagine, anybody can search the whole block. It would be very useful for marketing people, even loansharks would be interested to know. Anybody can send mail to me or come to my house. They could ask, 'Is Mr Chua in?' Then you would think that is a friend or relative - so anybody would open the door," said a concerned Mr Chua. When contacted by Channel NewsAsia, SPH Search said its data sources are proprietary to the company and it is not at liberty to disclose information on it. It added: "Red Nano People Search is an online white pages directory service that allows users to access and find basic contact information of people living in Singapore. "Our easy-to-use service lets users post and update their contact details on the Internet, upload photos as well as share links to their favourite social networking sites, making their online presence more current and personalised at no charge." However, following feedback from Mr Chua, Red Nano has since taken his particulars off the website. Data protection code is voluntary, but ... Responding to Channel NewsAsia's queries, the Ministry for Communications, Information and The Arts (Mica) said there is a Model Data Protection Code in Singapore. But this is for voluntary adoption by the private sector. Mica added: "The Model Code provides broad guidelines and principles on the proper management of personal information and it has been adopted by many companies, including those engaged in e-commerce under the TrustSG initiative." Under the code, personal data may include an individual's name, age, medical records, spending habits, home address and telephone
  21. I believe everyone has problems of their own when they are 'brought into' this world...some might have more problems than others( which are really of their own doing )...while others have lesser problems ( which again are due to personal choices made by themselves). Whatever it is, the path you chose, is the path you will take and suffer along with it. To change that path but asking for lots of money to lessen your personal issues is just like telling others.. 'Hey!..I messed up my life and now I have brought another life into this world so can you all donate money to resolve MY problems? I myself won't buy the above statement...but I believe there are alot of ppl who think they're are doing good by donating to such cause! What's your take? ================================================================= The only real recourse is to have ppl behaving responsibly and making good and sound judgement, based on what eventual outcome that will befall them!
  22. Hey folks, anyone saw tha accident along PIE (towards Changi) before Eunous exit last night aroung 1030pm? 3 car chain... I was very blessed not to be the 4th car, just managed to e-brake (ABS activated) and stop just about 2m behind the 3rd car. am so so glad i wasn't speeding and was about 2-3 car length away, anything less i think kena liao and thank God it didn't rain last night cos if the road was wet, most likely cannot brake in time. anyways i know no amount of advice will discourage people from speeding and tailgating, only through personal experience then will realise the danger/risk behind it. anyways just sharing from a personal experience.
  23. hi, juz wonder if we can get any details (name, address, etc) from his/her car plate no. from the authority?
  24. Based on my other thread which asked for comments on Kumho KU31 and KU15. And also to benefit those who are contemplating this model for next change. I have finally scrubbed the rubbers enough. And would like to review this tyre against what I was using previously, Goodyear Eagle F1(Thai). Overview: Tyre aspect ratio: 205/45R16 Speed Rating: Y Traction: AA Temperature: A Treadwear: 220 Pros: Sidewall is stiffer Sharper steering response(Due to the straight rib in the middle) Good lateral and linear grip once warmed up Commendable in the wet Cons: No rim protector Ride is a little harsh(Maybe because of the side profile) Compound is a little unsuitable on rough roads, potholes From here, I can conclude that this tyre is a good run for its value. It does its job without much squealing and without much hesitation under spirited driving. Downside is that the treadwear is quite high but that is what I expected from an Ultra High Performance Tyre(Or Extreme Summer, claims Kumho USA). For those who demand comfort, this is not the tyre to ponder for your next tyre change. Will update again the milespan reaches 10k. Tread:
