  1. Any bro here mix petrol using different brands, eg: Shell + Essos + SPC etc??? Any negative impact? I've done it before when overseas, whichever is cheaper, but the workshop here don't recommend.
  2. if the petrol price in JB keeps going up? What must the cost of petrol be before you feel it is not worth going to JB? BTW, heard last night, at Caltex Ron 97 it is RM 2.4
  3. Went in 2day for top up as usual . . . sekali full liao, check and open eye big big, why only 100 nia !!! Made payment and double check receipt, wah say, petrol back to 2.70 . . . no wonder !
  4. Let's just use petrol prices to control car usage and congestion in Singapore. Forget about satelites and tracking devices. Simple solutions to simple problems. $5 per litre of petrol will set many drivers thinking when they go for a joy ride or choose to drive to work rather than taking public transport. Government will play the "robinhood" handing out monthly petrol rebates to our needies e.g. family man with many mouths to feed, handicapped, operation/outdoor salesman, tuition errand runs, hospital runs, etc. Petrol rebates will be funded from the petrol taxes that the government collects.
  5. Hi guys Which petrol type normally u use? for me i normally used V power but maybe starting next week i will try the 98
  6. Hi all, Has everyone has any rate of petrol evaporation in ur car's tank? I dont drive to office so i mostly use my car night time or weekend. Last week due to one reason or another, i dont use my car at all. Then today i realised that the level of my petrol went down. Not a lot, but it is noticeable. With a full tank, does anyone know how much differences between using ur car everyday and using it only during weekend?
  7. Last weekend went in and pump Petronas for once since donkey years. Its also the first time my Sonata gets a taste of this petrol as well. For the past few days, i can feel the engine more responsive and smoother ride also. In addition, there is this low tone sweet sound emitting whenever i step on the pedal. Its quite soft and can just about hear it. The car feel like wana burst forward whenever i step on it. Previously i use to pump bolehland Mobil.....until recently engine check light came out quite often. Engine was very sluggish and slow response. Shell is much better. Gives more milage, no engine light problem but dont have that sweet sound. Does anyone experience the same thing.
  8. Hi all, I hear on the radio of some petrol stations offering discounts on fuel, just on National Day. Wonder if any bros here know which petrol stations or all across the island? Meanwhile, Happy National Day to all!!
  9. My friend is telling me about how the pump fail to auto stop when he is filling up petrol causing the petrol to overfill. He thinks it is a problem with his car. I think its the problem with the nozzle at the pump. It had only happened once and after that, he only fills to around 80% based on his estimation. Can someone shed some light on this? Car in question is a Nissan Latio.
  10. Hi All: Look out for this bugger in his motorbike ( 5144)... Who DO NOT queue up to fill his petrol at west coast area this late noon While I was pulling my car closer to the pump to fill my tank, this bugger just cut in from behind and started to pump... I got down my car and asked him, what the fxxk he is doing? ...as I nearly reversed into him. This bugger simply ignored... continued to pump his petrol and DID NoT even apologies throughout, then drove away...Even the pump attendant also commented" this guy is barbaric" As his jumpsuit indicated " PAUL INTERTEK"... May you meet your match soon... I am now thinking of loading his photo here...so that all can be aware of such irresponsible rider.
  11. Hi I have a stubborn odour in my car, like a chemical or petrol stench. I am not sure if it's because of a recent leak of my polishing cream bottle in the boot of the car, or a leak of the petrol tank. How can I determine? I have fabric seats and it's a hatchback so the boot area is connected to the cabin. I've tried febreeze and charcoal but to no avail. How can I determine the exact cause, before I resort to a steam cleaning of the interior? Thanks.
  12. Hi all, I own a white ride. Toying with the idea of pasting clear sticker around the fuel cap area to prevent unsightly fuel stains. What do you think? Anyone knows where I can get such sticker?
  13. Cars might be getting smarter, more efficient and environmentally friendly over the years but one aspect that hasn't changed in the face of motoring - fuel prices. The Volkswagen Group are among numeral carmakers that are actively pursuing ways to manufacture cars that are environmentally friendly and fuel efficient. Audi is no stranger to this formula and the premium German marque aims to bring it one step further - from saving fuel to saving money on fuel through a nifty online feature. Aptly dubbed the new Fuel Prices service
  14. What is the process to check and fill up the tire pressure here in Singapore? Do they have a pressure gauge whereby you can measure the pressure before filling up? Could the attendant helps you to fill up the Tire Pressure? Which location in the Petrol Station are the pressure gauges usually located?

  16. According to a report by ExxonMobil, diesel will surpass petrol as the number one transportation fuel worldwide by 2020 and continue to increase its share through 2040. The shift from petrol is being propelled by an increase in light-duty engine efficiency and an expansion in commercial transportation globally. Fuel demand by heavy-duty vehicles will see the greatest growth and accounts for 40% of all transportation demand by 2040. Approximately 80% of the growth in the demand for commercial transport will come from developing nations. On the other hand, demand for petrol will be relatively flat despite the doubling of global personal vehicle population from more than 800 million vehicles at present to more than 1.6 billion in 2040. The rise in popularity of diesel personal vehicles can be observed right here in Singapore due to the CEVS, and reduction of Special Diesel Tax for cars that meet the Euro V emission standard. In 2040, we may end up seeing more diesel pumps than petrol ones in our gas stations.
  17. Any brothers encountered Engine Check light on due to pumping Esso5000? My Sirion is giving intermittent engine check light on as long as i keep pumping Esso5000. But once i switched to Caltex or Shell V-power, the engine check light will go off after 2-3 days.

  20. PUB will be giving tarrif to electricty charges for the next 3 month due to lower crude oil price. Have not seen any petrol pump price went down if crude oil had fallen ..... Just pump on New Year's day for 95 Octane at $2.09 per liter. Thats before credit card discount. Although got 17% discount for using certain credit card, shouldn't pump price be lowered for the past months....
