  1. Dear all, Just would like to do a poll here. Who are using PDA Phone now? For those with phone like PDA or have PDA function but WITHOUT touchscreen, it'll be considered as Smartphones.
  2. My friend just pick up a mobile phone in the cab. Phone suddendly rang, she panicked, immediately hang up & off the phone. What will u do if u pick up a hp? So far, my friends who lost their hp before never got it back. Have not heard of any kind souls returning hp yet.
  3. I have 300 dollars voucher from Starhub to upgrade my phone and since I would also like to get GPS so I thought maybe I could kill 2 birds in 1 stone by getting a gps phone. However i do know that they are geneeally not as capable as those dedicated ones like garmin and holux. However if there is any gps phone that could function decently, reasonably responsive and decent reception I think would be enough. Any recommendation? So far in my list is nokia (not 8GB model) however i heard that only free for 3 month, after that need to pay. Can this model use free map like malsingmap? Samsung i550W - Anyone used this model before?
  4. [inline phone.JPG] Firstly, sorry for the big pic. Just wanted to share the phone that i bought yesterday, a low cost no frills phone which costs just $39.90. Is this the lowest a brand new phone with NO contract can be?

  6. This should serve as a wake up call for Nokia who provides farked thup services, consumers aren't to be pushed around. ======================== ST 25/2/2008 Customer turned up with bailiff to enforce Small Claims Tribunal ruling EARLIER this month, Ms Tan Geok Hoon marched into Nokia's office, brandishing court documents and threatening to seize the assets of the cellphone giant. A bailiff stood at the side of the 43-year-old sales manager, ready to take over the company's things. Ms Tan was enforcing a Small Claims Tribunal decision that ordered the world's largest cellphone maker to pay her $778 for a faulty cellphone she bought last year. The moment, which Ms Tan recalled recently, marked the culmination of a seven-month David-versus-Goliath battle. The story of one woman's fight against a mighty firm made the rounds in several online forums last week, casting the spotlight on how the world's top phone maker handled unhappy customers. It all started in August last year, when Ms Tan bought a Nokia E61i phone from a StarHub store. Ms Tan said the phone would not power on in the first week, but a Nokia service centre refused to exchange it for a new one. Frustrated after sending it for repairs several times, she turned to the Small Claims Tribunal in November. At this point, Nokia tried to settle the matter privately. It offered to exchange Ms Tan's phone for a new one, or to refund her $388 - the purchase price that came with a two-year StarHub subscription. She rejected the offer, looking instead for $778 - the full retail price of the phone. Ms Tan told The Straits Times: 'I didn't claim for more than what the phone cost because I'm not greedy for Nokia phones.' There were two consultations and one hearing before the Small Claims Tribunal. Nokia missed the last two sessions, claiming the relevant department had not received the notice on time. As a result, the company was ordered on Dec 18 last year to pay Ms Tan $778 within 15 days. But it did not. Said a furious Ms Tan: 'I gave them warning at every turn. I gave them time to respond, but nobody called me or discussed it with me.' So she turned up at Nokia's Alexandra Road office with the court order seeking payment. This time, the company agreed to pay up, but only if she signed an acknowledgement form that had a clause preventing her from discussing the matter further. She said 'no' and left. When she returned on Feb 11, she had a writ of seizure in hand and had a bailiff to force Nokia to pay up - with no strings attached. In the end, the cellphone giant coughed up more than $1,000, including bailiff fees and transport charges. Nokia spokesman Foo Wen Dee said this was the first such incident and it regretted the matter was not settled amicably. She added that the company was investigating why its officers had not resolved the issue earlier. Ms Tan shared the victory on online forums here, and Nokia drew flak for the way it handled the case. 'I want to let people know that sometimes there's no point talking... if one side doesn't respond, then we have to take action,' she said. Since the postings appeared in the past week, netizens have asked if more electronics firms should allow exchanges if a product fails shortly after purchase. Some firms do so on a case-by-case basis, while others offer it for certain products like hard disks.
  7. Dear all, Just would like to check how many of us are using PDA Phone. Ok... the definition for PDA Phone is that it MUST BE ..... touch screen as one of the feature. If not, it's classify under Smart Phones which is not what we are discussing here. So take note and vote....

  13. A chinese lady (sounds like Taiwanese) been calling me the past 1 week to congrats me on winning a phone lucky draw. I was told I won the 2nd prize; 45 days tour round the world. I have to fly to HK to commerce the trip, and also told this would be the only cost i have to come up with. However if I choose to cash out, i will "LOSS" about $10k value of the ticket. I would still cash in $48,000 (Singapore dollars). Each time when told to talk more, I told the lady I am away or busy. Yesterday (sunday), she actually told me that, they have a mini fair at East Coast Park (near MacDonalds). And there are signs leading me to their booth.. just have to quote AK3698. Anyway, I was too busy shopping yesterday. This morning.. since I was so free... when she called, I entertained her.. and her calls has not stopped since then... I am supposed to call a law firm in HK to verify myself... so the $48,000 can be successfully transferred to me. WAHAAHAA... I am rich!!! I will soon get $48,000!!! By the way... it's REAL!!! cos they even got website... and just put in AK3698.. and you will see that I did win the 45 days tour round the world! http://www.ap-ta.com/login.asp

The moment the cordless phone is picked up to make or receive a call, my singnet connection is disconnected. I have 3 phone sockets at home: socket 1 : normal analog phone with an ADSL filter socket 2 : normal analog phone, ADSL modem and ADSL filter socket 3 : cordless DECT phone w/o ADSL filter I was previously using another cordless phone at socket 3 but it didnt give any problems at all. Both the old and new cordless phone don't work if an ADSL fllter is installed on socket 3. My current cordless phone is a Siemens DECT phone. I will appreciate if anyone can advise me here. 21. Extracted from BT: A NEW 2.5-litre light turbo engine will be the highlight at today's launch of the new and improved Volvo S80. The facelifted S80 will see subtle exterior design changes after four years on the road here, such as the new grille in the softer, redesigned nose; new door mirrors; and a restyled boot with smaller, LED tail lamps. Inside, there are new instruments and new door panels. But it is under the sheet metal that changes are more pronounced. As mentioned earlier, a new 2.5T powerplant replaces the previous 2.4T engine. It will have more power and torque and is said to be able to complete the zero to 100 kmh sprint in 7.7 seconds. The new S80 also has new, more direct steering. On top of that, the version in the 2.5T is speed-sensitive. The two-litre light turbo variant will still be available and its price remains the same at $168,888 (with COE) while the 2.5T costs $178,888. For the first month, buyers of either model will also get a Nokia Vertu Stainless Steel mobile phone to complement the integrated car phone.
  22. Hi there, I had this ignoring experience in my car, whenever I use my handphone (of course, when my car is stationary ) or whenever I receive a call. Does anyone have this experience before? If do, any remedy to it? Some say grounding of vehicle helps, other say that cables behind the audio system loose, other says that the laying of the cables plays an important roles. Any comments?
