As above. Say if AD provides a service to pick up OPC cars for servicing from owners home. Can they use trade plate on the car during peak hour pick up so that owner doesnt have to pay for e licence? Question is what if the car passes a ERP gantry? Gantry wouldnt know if a trade plate is used right? Will kena or kong?

How about same car model and same car plate numeric? So far only encounter once and the other car owner stay close to my area, but different model.

I've been noticing a lot lately on the expressway, the the number plate is bent up so high that you cannot see it unless your very near the bike and looking down. Some are scramblers and the number plate is stuck on the tip of the mudguard which happens to be almost facing up the sky and thus the number plate also cannot be seen. It's irritating because these are the same idiots who filter around and speed. Authority should do something about it.... :angry:

Anyone knows where I can make those customised license plate holders where I put my own name and stuff? I asked a number plate shop, and they told me theirs is $15 but it's sticker??!! Meaning it's just stickered on the original frame. But I do believe I've seen embossed or printed ones on the road before. PIs also have their own customised number plate frames for the cars they sell. So it must be able to be done somewhere. Would like to know where to do and pricing for a pair too if possible. TIA!

Hello to all, I've got a question which I've been thinking.. Assuming I wish to convert my car on 14 Jan 2013. LTA will pro-rate me and require me to top up e.g. $7000. And from today 3 Dec 2012 to 14 Jan 2013, there are 4 days which I can drive without using the $20 coupon namely Xmas eve, Xmas day, New Year eve, and New Year day (I'm under the New Revision scheme). My question is does this $7000 take into consideration already of the 4 days which I can drive say to say, free on the roads for LTA's formula to derive this $7000 to charge me? In other words, if I convert e.g. tomorrow, then I "loo-gi" these 4 days of free usage since LTA is going to charge me from today and they are not going to consider the upcoming 4 days of free usage which I can enjoy? Err, am I making any sense to the bros here? Bottomline is this: Should I be converting my OPC to normal plate before or after public holidays? Thanks in advance for the advice!!

Hi In the first stage I bought a normal plate car (Black plate) then after 1 year I inform LTA to change to OPC (red plate) scheme and every six months LTA pay me a sum of money. I think something COE rebate. I not so sure. Now I going to sell my car... 1. SHould I change back to normal plate by paying $100 admin fee to LTA and then sell as normal? I think I should do that... 2. Will the OMV and COE amount be different when I change back to normal car? I mean the figure in the log card base on the new car and now after conversation back to normal car again. 3. Can I still sell as a normal car base on SG car Forum market price? I did ask LTA and they just push the ball around... I am very confuse now Any one can help me?

Hi, I observed the some cars have different colours like full black at front/rear and others with the white at front and yellow at rear. I refer to the private cars and non commercial cars. I am not referring to Off Peak Car with red plates. What are the reasons for this difference? Distinction from Authorized Distributor and Parallel Import? Thank you.

Hi Bros, Any one know how does it work? For eg, http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...938&DL=2080 pay $7k for conversion to normal plate. that means its about 35k for that rex. It also stated, take back 14k after COE expires. Any cons to such a deal? what do i lose? what do i gain? and lastly, any experience with this dealer? *8 motor trading Cheers. -

Used to get my car plates done in JB for 130ringgit a set, but hardly go in now. Was quoted $100 for a set of chrome plates at one of the local shops. Any shop can get a nice set for cheaper? Was in JB last nite to scout for good retreat for my church and do some shoppings, car was full load wif 5pax. On the way out of CIQ jb about 11.10pm wif heavy thunder storm, I was the first car into the filter lane, you were blasting your farking horn like no tomorrow, you cant even wait till I fully filter out den you can go and crash yourself into any of the railings you want. Your next life you will still be driving a red plate, dude, damm lucky you can still survive going into jb wif this farkup attitude. Hope you are reading this, cos when queuing at Sg side you were just one lane next to mine you specky asshxle. No need to post your lic no. here, I guess as well you are just one of those who cant even own a normal plate car, trying to save abit of petrol $$$, rushing to hell to get some sleep and take bus/mrt to work in the morning.

Saw a CD plate black Suzuki Swift parked at a seasons parking holder lot (RED) ... this car is definitely not seasons parking holder ... Since CD plate can knock people down and scott free, I guess they can park anywhere they want bah? Any idea if summon uncle/auntie can fine them ?

Hi all, I saw the Indonesian cars plate machiam quite unique. Some of their number plates are actually boxed in kind. Imagine, your number plate is being framed up like a picture frame . Got people do this in Singapore? Regards,

Do you all find that "most" drivers who choose yellow number plates tend to be egoistically challenged? They want to show off but are just not there yet? Just my observations in people choices and the psychology.

A strange case I found in VW forum: Then in another thread, it was discovered that some black plates show up as yellow when the pic is taken.

It is not common but i had witness a few "van" with a private license plate no. My concern is that the vehicles are the same.. but why 1 need to stick to a speed limit while another can drive as fast as any private car? So how LTA/TP set the speed of those commerical vehicle in the first place? And how save is it for this kind of vehicle to travel as fast as any private car? I am not talking abt those private ambulance but normal van. The most recent one was 1 Renault Traffic with a Private plate, puffing black smoke when climbing up the ECP slope.. (t sure is a diesel vehicle/0.. but it was zooming in and out of lane like some sport car when climbing the slope..
