Hi Experts... I need advice as im intending to polish(wax) my car tonight to prepare for Hari Raya outing this Sat Sun. I had to do this myself as most polishing services are fully booked! And i have only myself to blame for not booking in advance. All i need is a list of things i should get and where can i get them conveniently. Im only available to shop for those items after 7pm. Petrol Kiosk, Mustafa, anywhere with late opening hours to recommend? These are what i have currently.( i know my current set is a joke... ) 1) Proglaze wash n wax shampoo. (is this good enough for a good wash) 2) A couple of sponges (a rough surface one for the tyre areas n below bumpers and the smooth surface sponge for the body n bumpers. 3) Chamois - To wipe dry my car after wash. 4) Turtle wax - swirl mark remover wax. 5) Turtle wax applicator pads 6) A pad to buff. 7) ArmourAll Tyre shine applicator 8) ArmourAll windscreen cleaner Are these good enough? or are there better waxes off the shelf(not that ex. appx. <$25) to recommend? Another thing, my ride has been exposed to rain n shine in an open carpark for 2 years. There are visible trace of water marks on the roof as well as some light fingernail scratches. Do i need to claybar my ride? If so, where can i buy claybar. I would appreciate your time to recommend n give me some tips. I need simple items only...nothing complicating pls. From the set that i have currently, which one should i continue using and which one should i just stop using them? Thank you. -
Does the polish/wax compound we use matter in toning down or up the extent of orange peel? Coz after using Klasse AIO and Sealant on my ride, it seems to accentuate the orange peel. Comments?

Hi guys u may have read about my thread asking about the Hi-Glaze 88 http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/Aftermarke...ze_88_P1044379/ Well I got the product 3 weeks ago, so today was the 3rd coat I was applying on the car. Results below http://photobucket.com/albums/v77/Erikkson...8/?sc=1&multi=5 As u can see, the roof lines are still kinda wavy...maybe a couple more times of applying Hi-Glaze 88 and the lines will straighten right? But of course, hand-polishing is not as good as machine polishing from KLEF. Compare KLEF here http://photobucket.com/albums/v77/Erikkson...al/KLEF_Polish/ Any comments will be appreciated.

Hi! Has anyone tried the new Turtle Wax ICE Liquid Polish? Suppose to be very easy to use. I am not looking at super duper ultra deep shine, just something that is easy to use. Will this be adequate? Or are there better products that are just as easy to use available readily in the market? Was previously on Glare but just too lazy / busy to keep going back...

Dear Mcf brothers, After polish and wax my car with soff99, i still find visible stain of water spot, what steps can i take to remove it? will claybar help? Another thing i cant seem to get it, does sealant go first or waxing go first? any good brands to recommend wrt to removing water-spots. Hi, Anyone got any good spray-on-wipe-off wax/polish to recommend? Just to clarify, I am refering to those that does not need to wait for drying up before buffing off type. Thanks for your recommendations!

Seems like i have to AIO my car once every 1~2 months. Cos only 3 months after i done my previous AIO..my car now need a re-do process again. (probably due to mine is a open car park) But then, hear from some bro, Polishing(by m/c) will take off some clear coat..so it no advisable to do it often. So ,for AIO(by hand)..any issue/or advisable to do in once every 1~2 months?? Please give ur comments. Thanks alot.

Anyone with fresh stock of the this product? Reason being, I got one bottle stored in storeroom for 1+ yrs liao. Now the liquid appears brownish. Thought it was whitish. Can anyone help me verify if it is whitish or brownish? Scared it will spoil my car if it is expired. Thanks very much!

One of my office neighbours used to polish his car regularly, like once a fortnight. The car was alway parked in covered residential parking lot. Before a year, his new car lost the shine and the colour became dull. So how often can we polish our car. Once a month ok?

Any idea whether is ArmorAll's Spray On Car Polish is considered a polish and sealant or just polish? Any comments whether it is good or not? I'm new to detailing and I'm using it at the moment. Seems ok with me. I do notice the shine. Pardon the low quality pics. Mobilephone camera...640x480 only. Furthermore, it was taken at B1 of MSCP.

Anyone tried this product before? Just brought it at NTUC AMK for $46. So much easier to apply and buff compare to wax. Somemore come with application pad and cloth. But need comment regarding this to other products in the market.

My ride is shiny but my tyres are a sight for sore eyes. After every drive (I usually do at least 50km/day), my rims are coated with dust from my disc brakes. I am not using any sports rims... just the normal stock rims that came with my car. What do you use to polish rims and tires?

After getting my car for 2 months, finally decided to wax my car for some shineness So today, wake up at 5.45 am. Gather equipment, I started at 6 am to wash my car with Turtlewax F21 (green liquid) car wash. Using a 3M sponge and turtlewax fibre cloth for drying. Then using a claybar and Meguiars quik detailer(red bottle, smell nice), I begin to claybar my car and dry off. Took me an hour. Realised there is some 'dents' on the paint caused by bird dropping and tree sap Waited for a while, I used the Meguiars NXT Spray Wax(purple bottle) for waxing. Read from here that this is also a sealant also. Spray a lot on the roof of my car and using a dunno what brand polish cloth, realised I spray too much. So i reduced the amount on other places. Then waited 5 minutes. Then buff off with another polish cloth. Very difficult to do so and i realised that the wax is still wet. So I waited for another 15 minutes and buff off again. Very easy now. However I seemed to find that the surface even though shiny now, does not look very smooth. What did I need to do to make it smooth? To all bro and sis, will polishing help in making it smooth? Or do I need to claybar with soap water instead with quik detailer?

I've a 2.2L NA car with auto transmission, have been contemplating on customised turbocharging and been checking around. Base on my guesstimation and discussion with some workshops, running a low boost of 0.5 (for engine & transmission longetivity), I should be able to achieve approx. 55bhp & 60Nm torque additional. The other option is to do a Port & Polish with a customised exhaust manifold at 35% of turbocharging cost, the workshop told me that I should get approx. 10bhp and 40Nm additional. It seemed to me the improvement is overstated? Currently, I already running on piggyback ecu and 'improved' exhaust system. Any opinion which is a better option and advise from experience MCF Bros?

Now then I realized that this AutoGlym Resin Polish is too good to believe. Normally I'll used those abit cheaper kinda wax to wax my car... and keep the AutoGlym one cos its more costly. Apparently, after one rainfall, the 'shiny & slippery' feelings will be gone. Now that I'm using the AutoGlym, the car will feel the same at least for 3 car washes or 3 rainfall. I cant really describe but definitely I can say is Good!

Recently wash and wax my car and realise there's alot of defects on the paintwork. Can I know where to go for a machine polish to get the paintwork into a more reasonable state? Pricing? or any freelancer willing to take the job?
