  1. A netizen made a public claim on Facebook about Changi General Hospital (CGH) making a false statement in his medical report in an accident involving him and a Porsche 911 Carrera. In the public post, the netizen claims that CGH stated in the medical report that the motorcyclist (the netizen) skidded and collided with a car (The Porsche 911 Carrera). Read his post here: However, in the dashcam footage provided by the netizen, it showed otherwise. Watch it here: IMG_7665.MP4 What Happened? In December 2021, the netizen (motorcyclist) was side swiped by a Porsche 911 Carrera that had just merged into the expressway. The motorcyclist immediately lost his balance and fell due to the impact of the collision. Meanwhile his motorcycle skidded into lane 1 of the expressway. The netizen subsequently sought medical treatment at Changi General Hospital for his injuries following the accident. The Lapse Currently, the netizen wishes to seek clarification from higher authorities regarding the lapse in CGH's medical report. Furthermore, to seek the justice he deserves, the netizen tagged the Ministry of Health, Changi General Hospital and Mothership in his Facebook post to grab their attention on this matter. Several netizens went further by tagging our health minister in the comments. UPDATE (24/6/2022, 1400h) Changi General Hospital has reached out to the netizen in regards to his Facebook post. They have also released a statement on Facebook. Netizens' Comments If what the netizen claimed in his Facebook post was true, CGH would have to address this pressing issue swiftly. The amount of sarcasm tho. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  2. SINGAPORE - It is official. German premium car manufacturer Porsche is setting up a new retail business in Singapore, a move first reported by The Straits Times last month. A new $1 company called Porsche Singapore Pte Ltd has been set up for the purpose, ST has learnt. According to the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (Acra), the company was incorporated on March 22 this year. Its main activities were stated as retail of automobile, parts, accessories and lifestyle products, as well as the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles. These are all functions currently undertaken exclusively by Porsche dealer Stuttgart Auto, which is part of Mr Karsono Kwee's multi-franchise Eurokars Group. According to Acra, the sole shareholder of Porsche Singapore Pte Ltd is Porsche Asia Pacific, the manufacturer's regional office stationed here. But Porsche Asia Pacific managing director Arthur Willmann told The Straits Times the shareholding will change to include Eurokars "over the next weeks and months". https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/porsche-sets-up-new-company-to-retail-service-cars-here Some of us complain about rising petrol prices, some of us complain about $100K COE, then there are some people busy buying Porsches that there is a whole new retail and service business just for Porsche owners. The rich getting richer! Wooooo. Porsche 万岁!

  4. Source: https://www.motor1.com/news/561563/taycan-formula-e-safety-car/ Formula E’s eighth season kicks off next week, and it’ll look a tad different when it does. The all-electric racing series will add a new safety car to the lineup – the all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo S. The car will debut at the double-header contest in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. “With the Taycan Turbo S as the official safety car, we’re making an important contribution to track safety and also underlining the importance of Formula E for Porsche Motorsport,” said Thomas Laudenbach, vice president of Porsche Motorsport. Porsche modified the electric sedan with all the necessary safety car kit to make it race legal – roll cage, fire extinguisher, bucket racing seats, and six-point harnesses. The car also received flashing lights integrated into the bumpers, wiring harnesses for the safety car lighting, and a Marelli Logger System. Inside, other noticeable changes include the row of switches on the center console and the enticing red button on the steering wheel. The Turbo S should have no trouble keeping up with the race cars on the track. The Taycan produces 750 horsepower (560 kilowatts), allowing it to hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 2.8 seconds with launch control. It has a top speed of 161 mph (260 kph), which is just 12 mph (20 kph) less than the Gen 2 Formula E race cars. The new Taycan Turbo S safety car also wears a unique livery that’s more than an attractive design. All 11 teams are represented in the paintwork, including the FIA and Formula E. The Porsche Taycan joins BMW in supplying the series with safety cars. BMW offered the i8 Coupe and Roadster, followed by a modified Mini. The three will be at various Formula E races around the world, including London, New York City, Seoul, Mexico City, and more, for the upcoming season.
  5. Your Porsche might be delayed or up in smoke.... Yahoo news : Cargo ship carrying hundreds of Porsches left to burn in Atlantic after crew flee A cargo ship carrying Porsches and Volkswagen vehicles was abandoned after it caught fire in the middle of the Atlantic, with crew rescued and the ship left to drift. It is not yet clear what caused the blaze aboard the Felicity Ace, but all crew members are thought to have been rescued from the vessel, industry website Auto Evolution reported. Among the cars believed to be on the ship is a Porsche 718 Spyder belonging to You Tube star Matt Farah. “I just got the call from my dealer. My car is now adrift, possibly on fire, in the middle of the ocean,” he tweeted. Volkswagen Group acknowledged the incident in a statement but didn’t provide clarity on the cause. A spokesperson told Insider in a statement: "We are aware of an incident today involving a cargo ship transporting Volkswagen Group vehicles across the Atlantic. At this time, we are not aware of any injuries. We are working with local authorities and the shipping company to investigate the cause of the incident." A Porsche app referenced the incident but did not appear to provide details of the issue. “We are aware of an incident aboard the Felicity Ace, a specialized cargo ship carrying certain Porsche vehicles. Your dealership will provide you with additional information on how this impacts you as soon as we have additional information and know the full scope of the issue,” the message reportedly read. The Associated Press reported that the crew members were taken to Faial island in the Azores, about 100 miles from the ship, and were staying at local hotels. A Portuguese navy commander told the AP that the ship’s massive size would likely preclude it from being towed to port in the Azores. It’s unclear where the ship will ultimately end up. The Associated Press contributed.
  6. What is something that was not taught in driving/riding school but is so apparent on our roads? If you guessed lane-splitting, you are right! Watch how lane-splitting indirectly led to a confrontation between a motorcyclist and a Porsche: What Happened? This incident occurred at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, which involved the driver of a Porsche Macan and a motorcyclist. The dashcam footage is a user-submitted video from the motorcyclist mentioned earlier (with very bad dashcam placement). According to the motorcyclist, the entire incident sparked off when the Porsche had stopped 'very closely' next to the motorcyclist at the traffic light. The motorcyclist was stationary in between a 'right-turn only' lane and the rightmost 'straight-only' lane, while the Porsche was at the rightmost 'straight-only' lane. Upon the traffic light turning green, the Porsche Macan floored the accelerator to push out 400Nm of torque and 261bhp. Along with its all-wheel-drive capability, the Porsche SUV overtook the motorcyclist in no time. However, the Porsche's overtaking manoeuvre was apparently 'too close' to the motorcyclist's liking. I mean, being 'too close' to another vehicle is what you get from lane-splitting, right?! Both of these 'very close' instances triggered the motorcyclist to sound his honk at the Porsche driver to 'warn him about his dangerous driving'. The motorcyclist accelerated quickly and started chasing down the Porshe. Porsche Driver Did Not Take It Well Needless to say, the Porsche took the motorcycle's chase as a sign of provocation and started playing the brake game with him. According to the motorcyclist, the Porsche driver opened his car door to hurl some Hokkien vulgarities and flip the bird at the motorcyclist. Sadly, the above was not captured on video, and there was no audio recording of this. May I also point out how the starting of the video was coincidentally cut, so it does not reveal what happened earlier? Sus much🤨 Netizens' Comments Wise words. Should we have a "Top 10 idiots Road Edition" segment in the future? If you wanna lane-split and wait in the front, you better chiong when the light turns green. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! 9. Dedicated F1 fans here might know there's a Netflix series based on it called "Drive to Survive". I haven't watched a full episode of it — since the current 2021 season rivalry between Verstappen and Hamilton is more than enough drama for me — but I'm aware of its great production quality. If you're into that kind of stuff, I highly recommend this free series on Porsche's official YouTube channel called "Michael Fassbender: Road to Le Mans": It's based on Pro-Am driver Michael Fassbender's journey through the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), in his quest to eventually compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). If you find his name familiar, that's probably because he has starred in the movies you've watched, most notably as Magneto in the X-Men series: Maybe he can make use of his mental powers to force opponents off the track to secure his wins? The 3rd season just started this month, and each episode averages about 20 minutes. The 1st season had 6 episodes and the 2nd season expanded it to 9, but you can easily binge the whole thing over a weekend, which I highly recommend if you want to understand the full context behind his struggles. To watch them all, just click on the red bolded text within this paragraph for each respective season's playlist. As mentioned, this whole series is entirely FREE, so don't say I never jio you all when I got lobang ah! In the meantime, enjoy the first episode of this latest season:
  10. One would never expect an accident to occur just at the foot of their home. Watch this video to see how the cam car reacts against a hit-and-run driver: What happened? Although the accident location is unknown, the surroundings suggest that the location is situated among several condominiums. As the cam car was making a right turn into his condominium, a Porsche Macan abruptly cuts the cam car on his right. As a result, the Porsche ended up hitting the side of the cam car. Fortunately, the impact of the accident was pretty minor since both cars were travelling along a street. Fight Or Flight? Instead of going down to exchange personal information, the driver behind the Porsche Macan decides to escape from the cam car. The Porsche Macan pushes out all 300-ish ponies from his turbocharged engine, gapping the distance between him and the cam car in an instance. Shortly after, the cam car commences an intense pursuit after the Porsche and even "bashes" through the security barrier of the Porsche driver's condominium. Stuck With Nowhere To Escape Honestly, this is the stupidest thing anyone could do -- Performing a hit-and-run and trying to hide inside your own condominium, despite the victim right behind your ass. The video abruptly ends with the cam car speeding through the condominium's carpark, leaving viewers on a cliffhanger. Needless to say, the Porsche will eventually be caught as there is only 1 entry and exit within the condominium. All it takes is for the cam car to go around the carpark and find a dark coloured, damaged Porsche with the matching number plate mentioned in the video. Netizens' Comments Damn right it is. At least this involves an exciting chase. I am also looking for an "official ending". I will update this post if there is any. Lame. 13. Oh no, this white Porsche Macan is going to get flamed online by neitzens everywhere with his/her brake-checking skills. Spotted on SG Road Vigilante's page is this video of a Porsche SUV that is pissed with the camera car not giving way on 30th of Nov 2020. Everything started from the junction of Upper Thompson and Braddell Road with the Porsche slowly catching up to the camera car which was going a decent speed. The Porsche then wanted to overtake on Braddell road for a few times but somehow luck was not in his way and the camera car seemed like it was blocking the SUV. With ego getting the best of the SUV driver, the Macan then a bad judgement call at Braddell Underpass, trying to cut into the camera car's lane without signal. Funny thing is throughtout the other parts of the video, the Macan did signal his intentions mostly... From then on, it then seemed like the Macan wanted to give the camera a piece of his mind and brake-checked the camera car after finally overtaking it. Was it solely the fault of the Porsche? Or was the camera car in the wrong for not giving way despite knowing the Porsche had intentions to overtake? It does take two hands to clap afterall...

  15. The Rock Realizes He Can't Fit In A Porsche Taycan While On Movie Set source: https://www.motor1.com/news/454579/the-rock-cant-fit-taycan/ It’s safe to say Red Notice is a huge deal for Netflix considering it’s one of the streaming platform’s most expensive movies ever. Originally under development with Universal for a 2020 launch, the action-packed movie has a budget of nearly $188 million and will be out in 2021. It’s the first Netflix movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, while Ryan Reynolds will be making his second appearance after starring in 6 Underground. Filming for Red Notice hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing taking into account the coronavirus pandemic put the brakes on production earlier this year. Work on the movie resumed in September, but it wasn’t without hurdles as “The Rock” took to Instagram to reveal a funny yet costly problem he had. Long story short – he couldn’t fit inside a Porsche Taycan that was brought on set to shoot a scene. The “big chase sequence” as described by the former professional wrestler took months to prepare and high production costs, which included buying a Porsche Taycan and shipping it to the film location. When the time came to shoot the scene, writer and producer Rawson Marshall Thurber (the man seen here lying on the ground in front of the car) told The Rock to hop inside the EV, only to realize his back “is a bit too wide.” The unexpected issue didn’t stop the producer and the rest of the film crew from figuring out a good angle to take the needed shot: “In the end we showed our agility to think quickly on our feet and found ‘creative’ ways to still get the shot. “ Actually, this isn’t the first time Dwayne Johnson has a problem fitting in a car, which isn’t all that surprising considering he’s 6 feet 5 inches (196 centimeters) tall. About five years ago, he complained about having an identical problem with a LaFerrari.
  16. And it's designed for space travel. Sporty six-seater anyone? Alright alright, not quite. The Porsche vision “Renndienst”, is the latest in a series of concept cars recently revealed by Porsche, and designed as a "space shuttle" with exciting proportions. With cabin space for up to six persons, Porsche must presumably be targeting the family space tourism sector, soon to get off the ground once travel restrictions are lifted, of course. With an all-electric drive located in the underbody, Porsche sportiness is also retained thanks to a centrally located driver's seat. Where would you take your family to in something like this? Of course, if roofless two-seaters are your thing, there's also this Porsche Vision Spyder, inspired by the 550-1500 RS Spyder from 1954. The Porsche Vision Spyder. Designed to "further develop the design identity of Porsche and provide a pool of ideas for future details," the concept car is described as sporting a spartan, puristic cockpit. Characteristic radiator grilles over the mid engine, red graphic elements and the suggested fins at the rear add the final exterior touches to this open top. Next special edition 718 previewed, we rekon.
  17. While @Toeknee_33 is having wet dream with the news of Mazda developing a new IL6 engine, I am drooling over this, but it will never happen, 'cos... 2013 Porsche 904 Living Legend When VW was developing the limited-edition and very frugal XL1, Porsche Design Studio was intrigued by its carbon fiber chassis and decided to use it as the basis for an ultra-light and minimalist sports car to act a modern reinterpretation of the 904 from the 1960s. Meet the 904 Living Legend concept from 2013, a member of Porsche’s Unseen collection of design studies that was released recently, out of the blue. While VW chose a carbon chassis for reasons related to unbelievable fuel economy, Porsche’s take was to create a purist’s wet dream; a small mid-engined coupe that barely weighs over 900 kg (1,984 lbs). The biggest surprise is in the engine bay where there’s no four-pot or flat-six, let alone a V8. Porsche’s engineers downsized the powertrain recipe to a V2 inherited from a motorcycle. When VW developed an XL Sport concept back in the day and it too had a V2, a 1.2-liter engine from the Ducati 1199 Superleggera. It produced 200 horsepower and revved all the way up to a screaming 12,000 rpm. To imagine the performances this Porsche 904 Living Legend would've had, we’ll remind you the 2014 XL Sport did 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds and had a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). It’s worth pointing out the VW was a tad lighter, weighing only 890 kg (1,962 lbs). The end result is a mid-engined coupe that looks effortlessly beautiful, with its clean lines and seductive curves giving it supercar-levels of presence. This could be Porsche’s answer to the Alpine A110 but unfortunately, the world has moved on since 2013.
  18. There's no denying that cars are expensive in Singapore - you'll often find Singapore atop lists on the most expensive places to own a car in the world. So, when it comes to buying a car, price is a key factor. There's no doubt that everyone loves a bargain. Being able to save even a small amount can go a long way to making you feel a little bit better about your purchase. However, when it comes to buying a car, there's a lot more that goes into the decision than simply a race to the bottom, price-wise. Cheaper isn't necessarily better. Beyond the price tag, here are four additional things that you should consider when buying a car. 1. Complimentary warranty with the option of purchasing extended warranty Buying from an Authorised Dealer (AD) is generally more expensive, but included in that higher price tag is a warranty package, usually anywhere between five to seven years, and that usually also includes a servicing package. Having that warranty is important - while no one plans for something serious to go wrong with their car, you definitely want to be comprehensively covered should an unfortunate situation arise. Knowing that you can return to the AD who has the necessary expertise and genuine parts, provides you a complete peace of mind. All Porsche cars come with a complimentary maintenance and servicing package that includes regular wear and tear. Additionally, all cars come with a comprehensive five year warranty, with the option of picking up an extended warranty of up to 15 years, only available at Porsche Centre Singapore. 2. Highly trained sales and after sales professionals When it comes to servicing your vehicle, quality comes at a price. Yes, you can find the cheapest option, but you're certainly comprising on quality. Proper maintenance of your car is important for safety, as well as ensuring the long-term longevity and reliability of the car, delivering driving pleasure for years to come. With an AD, you can be sure of highly qualified technicians that have the most modern and up-to-date equipment and software updates necessary for dealing with modern, high-tech cars. Porsche Centre Singapore has one of the first electric-ready workshops in Southeast Asia, with dedicated high-voltage certified technicians, specifically to handle the all-electric Porsche Taycan. All the technicians are also regularly recertified and trained to maintain vehicles in accordance to global quality and safety standards. And, when it comes to a high-performance vehicle like a Porsche, you want to be able to get the best out of the experience. With intensive training to be qualified to service customers and deliver a top-notch purchase experience, the Porsche Sales Consultants are capable of guiding you on how to best use your vehicle. 3. Exclusive benefits and experiences When buying a car, especially with a premium brand, you are also buying into a set of exclusive experiences and a particular lifestyle. Beyond just the car, you also gain access to unique experiences and opportunities you wouldn't be able to attain elsewhere. These experiences can range from exclusive invites to various events and drives, as well as exclusive benefits from the brand and its partners. 4. Higher resale value When you decide it's time to move on to your next car, having a vehicle with a comprehensive dealer-certified service history, backed by the trusted reputation of the brand, will undoubtedly raise its resale value. With a highly detailed servicing history, as well as the assurance of genuine replacement parts used, any potential buyer will have no doubts as to the integrity and reliability of your vehicle. And of course, you also have the option of upgrading to a newer model and trading in your current vehicle with the AD.

  21. https://www.torque.com.sg/news/porsche-singapore-introduces-solo-test-drives/ Porsche Singapore has introduced unaccompanied test drives and contactless servicing in light of the ongoing pandemic. The two new initiatives are meant to help protect customers by minimising contact with salespersons and service staff. TEST DRIVE A PORSCHE ALONE In order to set up an unaccompanied test drive, customers will first speak to a sales consultant via a WhatsApp video call. During the call, the consultant will highlight the key features of the vehicle before confirming the solo test drive appointment. To qualify, drivers must be at least 24 years old and be able to provide a refundable security deposit. According to Porsche Singapore, the security deposit ranges from $20,000 to $40,000. Upon completing the necessary forms, customers will be able to drive the car alone for 30 minutes. Porsche Singapore says this initiative began with the Cayenne Coupe, and that it is working to expand the lineup to include models such as Macan, Panamera and 911 Carrera. DOORSTEP SERVICE Porsche is also making maintenance even more convenient for customers with their contactless servicing programme. Once a service appointment has been arranged, Porsche will collect the customer’s vehicle from his or her chosen location. The car will be returned once the maintenance work is completed. Contactless servicing for annual maintenance/repairs is complimentary. However, this only applies during the five years from the vehicle’s registration date.
  22. Porsche 3D Printing Engine Piston Technology 3D printing technology is already used at Porsche in prototype construction, manufacturing spare parts for classic sports cars as well as in other areas. In cooperation with its partners Mahle and Trumpf, the sports car manufacturer is now establishing a new milestone in the use of additive manufacturing processes for highly-stressed drive components – for the first time, the pistons for the high-performance engine of the 911 flagship model, the GT2 RS, are now also being produced with a 3D printer. 3D printing allows the pistons to be manufactured with a structure that is optimised for the loads acting on the pistons. As a result, the pistons from the advance development project weigh ten percent less than the forged series production pistons. They also have an integrated and closed cooling duct in the piston crown that could not have been produced by conventional methods. “Thanks to the new, lighter pistons, we can increase the engine speed, lower the temperature load on the pistons and optimise combustion,” explains Frank Ickinger from the advance drive development department at Porsche. “This makes it possible to get up to 30 hp more power from the 690 hp twin-turbo engine, while at the same time improving efficiency.”
  23. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/motorsport/legendary-porsche-engineer-hans-mezger-has-died Hans Mezger, the legendary Porsche engineer, has passed away aged 90. Mezger was born in a small village near Porsche’s hometown of Stuttgart in 1929. He started working for the company in 1956 after graduating from what is now the University of Stuttgart, having avoided being enlisted by the German military just weeks before the end of World War Two. He wouldn’t retire until 1993. Mezger was part of Porsche’s first Formula One programme in 1960. Soon after he developed the 901 air-cooled flat-six that powered the first-generation 911, and would inform the design of all 911 engines until the water-cooled 996. Then in 1965 he was put in charge of “race car design”, where he was ultimately tasked with winning Le Mans… The result was the 917 – Mezger was responsible for its “overall construction”, and the chief architect of its flat-12, which would go on to produce over 1,000bhp in the turbocharged Can-Am cars. Mezger got into turbocharging in a big way in 1974 when he began sticking blowers on 911s. The Can-Am 917s and 911 RSR influenced the road-going 911 Turbo, which in turn led to the turbo’d flat-six that would power the 935, 956 and 962 among others and bring Porsche many, many race wins. When Porsche fans talk about the ‘Mezger engine’, they’re usually referring to the water-cooled flat-six developed for the 996 and 997-era 911 GT3, GT2 and Turbo. Though these cars came out years after Mezger retired, this engine can trace its roots right the way back to his race-winning flat-sixes of the Seventies. The last 911 to use this engine was the epic 997 GT3 RS 4.0. Despite all of that, Mezger said the project he was most proud of was the 1.5-litre turbocharged V6 Porsche developed for the McLaren Formula One team in the Eighties. It won 25 races, two Constructors’ Championships and three Drivers’ Championships (one for Nicki Lauda in 1984, and two for Alain Prost in ’85 and ’86). Michael Steiner, Porsche’s R&D and motorsport boss, said: “We thank Hans Mezger for his extraordinary engineering achievements, which he has done for motorsport in general and for Porsche in particular. His innovations for our series sports cars will remain unforgotten forever.”
  24. Porsche's track app uses CarPlay to show lap data while you drive source: https://www.engadget.com/porsche-track-precision-app-carplay-190318394.html There’s no guarantee you’ll find a race track to drive during the pandemic, but Porsche will be ready whenever you can hit the course. It recently updated its Track Precision app for iOS (via Autoblog) with CarPlay support to make lap data much more convenient. Instead of perching your iPhone on a mount, you only have to use your sports car’s touchscreen to record laps, get lap time predictions and compare your real-time results against a reference. There are some added perks if you happen to wear an Apple Watch. It’ll now vibrate to let you know when you’ve broken a personal lap record, and you can even record your heart rate if you’re wondering just how tense you were during that hairpin turn. The feature isn’t available for Android Auto yet, although that’s not surprising given that Porsche only recently began adding Google’s platform to its cars. All Track Precision users should see 100 new tracks added to the pre-defined list, giving you 300 courses around the world with accurate mapping data. You can create custom maps using your phone’s GPS if a local circuit isn’t available yet. The updated app is free, although you’ll need to meet fairly specific requirements to use it. You’ll not only need a Boxster, Cayman, 911 or GT car with at least Porsche Communication Management 4.0, you’ll need both the Connect Plus and Sport Chrono Package add-ons. If you’re in that position, though, you may have just what you need to improve your performance without either an elaborate phone setup or dedicated telemetry gear.
