  1. Due to an increasing number of forumers who try to clock posts through senseless inputs in the Garage Sale area, we have decided to remove the post count from the Garage Sale folder. This means that posts made in the Garage Sale folder will not count towards your number of posts. This will only apply to new posts and is with immediate effect.
  2. For those watched the match, comments please? To me, some points noted: 1. Singapore football suck totally especially in 2nd half - defenders dun know how to defend, strikers dun know how to shoot... blah blah blah 2. Why have trophy? Super damn pointless... i can see that the Liverpool players like no interest and just going through motion... 3. Jersey exchange... seems like Liverpool players not that keen... some just trying to give face only and put up a show
  3. i still have a few unused coupons bought in 07, which only has year 07,08,09 on it, can exchange to newer one at post office? or have to go to LTA...troublesome if so...
  4. This is so hilarious I just have to post it up here for all to see. Warning : For entertainment purposes only! In no way do we condone using Post-It notes for anything other than boring memos. ------ Original article taken from AsiaOne Motoring. Respect my car space By Fiona Chan In a peaceful little cul-de-sac somewhere in the west of Singapore lives a family that is - almost - like any other. They have a bunch of well-dressed kids, a lovely house and a garage that can hold three cars comfortably. There's just one problem: The household has more than three cars. Quite a lot more. Seven, to be exact. When the entire family comes home, as inevitably they do, their cars - marked by the same digits on all their licence plates - overflow onto the road in front of their house like a vehicular oil spill. They seep insidiously into the lots in front of their neighbours' houses, tarring their personal space and polluting their goodwill. I know this because every time I drive over to visit my friend, who lives opposite this family, I have to dodge their cars while looking for somewhere convenient to park. Of course, it's not illegal to take up parking spaces that your neighbours don't use. It's not even morally wrong for a single household to own seven cars (although I, the owner of half a car, think it should be). But, to me, buying several more cars than your own house can accommodate is the height of inconsideration. It's not like there isn't an obvious solution: Just sell one of the sports cars and use the money to build a bigger garage, for heaven's sake. Then again, thoughtless motoring behaviour appears to be the norm in Singapore. In my own, significantly less wealthy, estate, many of the older single-storey houses are too small to shelter even one car. So residents park their cars right outside their houses, on both sides of the narrow road, along which runs a single white line. This is actually illegal but the owners clearly don't care. What they seem more concerned about is glaring at me as I am forced to inch my car through the obstacle course created by their protruding vehicles to get to my house. I've never actually rammed into one of their cars. But I am always tempted to. The same goes for all those foodies who park illegally outside eateries - even when there is a perfectly legitimate carpark just a few minutes' walk away - just so they can maximise their eating convenience. The Sunday Times ran an article last week about how nerve-racking it is for these drivers to dine and dash. But it is 10 times worse for the rest of us, who have our nerves shredded trying to carefully squeeze past their obstructive cars, and don't even get to stuff our faces. What I would love to do is paste notes on the dashboards of these parked cars and make them look like parking summonses, just to give their owners a scare. "Gotcha, sucker!" these notes will say. "Next time it will be for real." I don't quite have the meanness - or, to be honest, the balls - to do this, although my friends tell me they've stuck Post-it warnings on the cars they've seen illegally parked near their homes. All I do, in a cowardly fashion, is live in hope that one day the traffic police will come knocking on the doors of these parking idiots. After all, in Singapore, that seems to be to be the only way that anyone can be persuaded to do what in other countries would be plain common sense. Take buses for example. You might think that letting a poor lumbering bus exit from its bus bay would be a natural instinct for other motorists. But no, drivers have to be threatened with a fine before they will give way to a bus. Unfortunately, there's no penalty for drivers who grumble loudly and non-stop about the new law. Do we really have to introduce - and enforce - punishments for every thinkable inconsiderate driving activity? Surely there is some shame in always having the obvious spelt out in the form of a law? If there's anything I've learnt from years of kindness campaigns, it's that courtesy can't be taught. So I'm taking matters into my own hands. The next time I visit my friend in his cul-de-sac, his neighbours better watch out. I'll be armed - with a bunch of Post-its. [email protected]

  6. This post is from Onunu. I take out the full names of the two SE ok. Not very nice. I sorry for reply in this topic as i not allow to post the new topic... I reali need an advice to the expert from this forum a i was supposed to collect my new car from Borneo motor which have been delay by the SE for abt 3months... I meet the sales manager from Borneo motor abt this matters and they told me my car will be only arrived on next week 13 June 09 Actually from the contract i sign on the day i book the car and which indicated that my estimated delivery is on May09 but now they can tell me i can onli collect the car on 13 June 09. So can i claim compensation from Borneo Motor for the delay? any advice? The complaint as follow; I have encounter a very bad experience with the sales engineer by the name of Paul. I book my very first car with him during the car show at Suntec City somewhere on 14 Feb this year and it is my first gift on Velantines day for my wife on our first year anniversary. He was quite friendly at time of signing the retail customer order form and I was informed that the car will be only arrived about 2 to 2 and the half month later which the latest by earliest May 2009. I'm looking forward for the new car as it will be my first gift for my wife and as a result I have few occasion sms him to find out the progress of my order. Due to this is the first time for me to own a car so I have seeking advice from my friends and colleagues about the procedure on bidding the COE which I get to know I can monitor from LTA website for the result for each bidding exercise. I was informed and explained earlier by one of the female sales engineer during the car show which Borneo Motor will start bidding for me once i started make an order. After 2 months of monitoring the progress of COE bidding I realised that I was unsuccessful from which my NRIC was not in the record of the successful bidder. I decided to call Paul to find out more about the progress of my COE bidding. He than replied me that my COE bidding will only start once my car shipment have arrived which will be on May and comfirmed that Borneo Motor did not make any bidding during the past 2 months since my order was make. So I have discontinued to monitor the COE bidding exercise. On 23 April 2009, I received the sms from him stated that my COE bidding was succesful and he will call me once the shipment have arrived. I presume my order will be ready as promised as he mentioned earlier that Borneo Motor will only bid the COE once the shipments has arrived in Singapore. On 12 May 2009, after about 3 weeks I received the last sms, I wonder why I have not receive any call from him and I decided to sms him to find out the reason. Below were the sms conversation with him; From me: Hi Paul, when will be my car arrive? Paul: Hi sir... should be Mid May... From me: mean that will be this week? Paul: something like tt.... still waiting for shipping advise... will let u know soonest... From me: can u let me know the approximately date? Paul: Hi sir... we will inform u 1 week in advance... but i cant tell u anything now cos no advise yet After a while he contacted me and told me the same thing again. He even told me that he can prove it from his DATA to me that other customer who make the order the on the same date like me will be only getting the car on July 2009. When I requested to see the so called DATA but he refused unless i go down to his outlet. When I asked him why he promised earlier on the arrival of the car during the car show abt 3 months back and he just replied he got no choice because of the shipment have not arrive yet. After I realised he getting contradicts himself and i decided to speak to his supervisor. He call me again to informed that his sales manager are busy and will get back to me but I requested to have his sales manager number and his email address instead so I can call or email him regarding this matters. He refused to give his sales manager email but only can give the number. I requested him to sms me the number. Before I could recieve the sms from him and he called me again and informed me that i need not to speak to his sales manager due to the shipment has arrived. This arouse my suspicions and I insisted on speak to his sales manager. He than sms me the contacts and the sales manager by the name of Sam at about 4.55p.m. I have tried make several called on the number given but can't managed to get through. I contacted Paul at 6.52p.m again to get others alternative sales manager for me to clarify about this matters and was told Sam was the only one and his sales manager was on office hours which start on 8.30a.m untill 5.00p.m. After about 2 minutes later, Sam called me pertaining to this matters and told me that my car still not arrived yet but will put me on the priority list. He offered me to chance to a new sales engineer if I feel disppointed with Paul service. He will also investigate on the promises by Paul which he agreed that my car will be arrived about 2 to 2.5 months during the car show. Borneo Motors (S) Pte Ltd is today one of Singapore's leading car distributors and as a customer we expect the sales personel to be a specialist and professional in dealing with thier customer especially during the global economic downturn at the moment. I believe with the reputation Borneo Motor have established since 1856 for be a main distributor at many country and this will definately turnish the image for the new car owner like me when encounter such a bad experience to own TOYOTA brand for first car. Finally i'm looking forward for the reply from u regarding this incident happen and i hope the full investigation on this matters

Just a friendly reminder , as I feel some ppl have 'forgotten' about this.

  11. My Bro-in-law had a little accident on the 1st day of CNY. Apparently his front 2 tires were bald and lost control along PIE towards Changi. He also slammed into one of the lamp posts. He wasn't driving very fast but enough to damage the lamp post. Now question is how much to repair one such lamp post? Thanks in Advance

  16. seeing how F1 has ended, I was wondering what we will see on the famous S'pore F1 track. Though it is anti-clockwise, it will still serve as a challenge to many. For serious discussion, our govt could open it charging an arm & leg to those with deep pockets But, this is not the reason why this thread is being started. Our track will be remembered as physically and mentally challenging. So, what we will see is many F1 wannabes giving it a try, never mind direction is different from actual race. Orchard OG will no longer be the Pasir Gundang of S'pore. Those who managed and survive without implicating anyone will probably take heart that they hv DONE IT never mind if they hv to pay a hefty sum for speeding or getting their license suspended What do you think

  21. I seldom visit the Post Office, except to collect registered items. Today, I need to fax some documents to a LOCAL address and hence had to make the trip to Post Office. I was quoted $3.21 for each page. Nowadays, it is cheap to get an All-in-One printer with fax capability and the telephone bill for faxing is not expensive. I am wondering if such pricing at Post Office is reasonable, at all. Your views please.
