  1. Heard the 'campaign' is back this weekend. fri to sun, 10am to 10pm... enjoy e vroom vroom vroom!!
  2. I only know its 12v DC output. Any idea on the Amp rating? Looking to use it to charge a battery pack which requires 12v @ 2A. The battery pack came with adaptor from socket thus needed to convert the charger. Spec as below Input: DC 9-12V 2A Solar Charger:10V 220-230mA Output: DC 9V/12V/16V 2A USB 5V/2A
  3. Everyday also hear on the radio about VG's TDI radio commercial. Went down to VGS Alexandra as quite interested in the Passat TDI but there is no test drive vehicle and they dun have one on display. Another minus point, only the 2L 140hp/320Nm TDI variant will make it here. No plans yet for the 2L 170hp/350Nm variant. Can't even do any booking as pricing not confirmed. Really all plain hot air from VGS! And the biggest let down, you cannot pump MY diesel as it will damage the diesel particulate filter. The sales claims that one can drive to and fro to KL w/o the need to refill, so short jaunts up north for a couple of days will be fine. But what happens if diesel ran out halfway? die die cannot pump? I saw lots of brand new diesel Mercz & Beemers rolling around in MY. Even manage to spot a X6 diesel on the NSH. How do they manage? Particulate filter removed? Coz i dun see any hint of black smoke even when tailing one diesel Beemer at 160kph on their highway. Any bro's here driving diesel powered private cars? Can share the average FC and the NVH? How do you guys manage to drive in MY? Cars only hor.. taxi, lorry and van owners nvm okie? kekeke
  4. Damn pissed off with the guard at my work place this was what happened today. The car park was full... me: (waits at the entrance hopping that someone will go out and i can go in), i am still in the car the guard comes guard:you cannot park here me: i am waiting for some one to come out so that i can go in guard: you cannot wait here cos your car is near my sensor and will wrack havock in my system. (not true as i have done it later in the afternoon, waited for like 15 min) me: so, i move to one side without my car above your sensor. guard: that will be obstructing traffic coming into the car park. AND I WILL CLAMP YOUR WHEEL. me: what traffic, i am waiting inside the vehicle guard: : you still cannot park and i will clamp your wheel, you can go to other carpark me: ) drives off) then back at my work place: I saw the guard trying to clamp a buffet cafeteria's van while the diver was making his delivery (van was parked at the fire engine access) F**k that guard. if this is going to happen tomorrow again i will call the police. I just noted that the sign outside the carpark states 'cars park illegally will be clamp/tow' no mention of waiting

  12. TOKYO: Japan will abandon nuclear power within the next three decades under new government policy on the post-Fukushima energy mix, a newspaper said on Wednesday. Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda's administration will declare its intention to permanently shut down reactors by some time in the 2030s, the Mainichi Shimbun reported, citing unnamed government sources. The move would bring resource-poor Japan into line with Germany, which has said it will wean itself off nuclear power by 2022, and comes as regular vocal protests against nuclear power continue. The government "will formally decide at an energy and environment meeting this weekend" to stop the use of nuclear power, the paper said. Tokyo has worked to hammer out a new energy policy in the wake of last year's crisis, when reactors at Fukushima were swamped by the tsunami, sparking meltdowns that spread radiation over a large area. In the months that followed, Japan's entire stable of reactors were shut down for routine safety checks, with only two of them ever having been restarted, and those in spite of often vocal public protest. Last week, Noda's ruling Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) issued a policy recommendation saying Japan should "put every political resource to realise a situation where the number of nuclear plants operated be zero in the 2030s". The DPJ listed three principles to achieve this: not constructing new nuclear plants, stopping old nuclear plants after 40 years of operation, and only approving the restart of nuclear plants that had passed safety checks by a nuclear regulator. The policy paper recommended Japan make greater use of renewable energy, and take further energy saving measures, including the use of smart metering. It also said Japan should develop resources in nearby waters and look to cheaper procurement of liquefied natural gas and other fossil fuels, including shale gas. Japan, with precious few resources of its own, is presently heavily dependent on oil from the Middle East and has been forced to ramp up its imports to make up the energy shortfall over the last 18 months. Nuclear had provided around a third of the country's electricity before the disaster at Fukushima. Noda said Monday he will incorporate the DPJ's recommendations into his new energy policy, which is expected to be finalised later this week. Ahead of a general election expected this autumn, nuclear energy has become a hot button issue in Japan with regular protests that sometimes attract tens of thousands of people calling for it to be ditched. At the same time the country's powerful business lobbies have worked hard to push for a restart of shuttered reactors, fearing power shortages. Germany last year said it would shut down its 17 nuclear reactors by 2022, while in Italy, a referendum rejected any resumption of nuclear energy generation, which was halted after the 1986 disaster at Chernobyl. Switzerland has approved plans to close its five reactors by 2034. However a number of Asian countries are pushing ahead with expanding their nuclear programmes. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp...1225541/1/.html
  13. My Daihatsu Sirion 1.3 has min RON of 91. Always been pumping 95RON until recently, pumped w tankfuls of 92RON discovered some sluggishness whenaccelerating and mileage dropped by about 1km per litre. My friend who drives a petrol driven Toyota Hiace school bus also told me he pumped 95RON due to lack of power for 92RON. is this true, or must engine timing be retard for it to accept 92RON?

  15. Hi. I have 2 options of speaker from the shop I am currently upgrading my 6.5 comps to. Without looking at brands, Speaker A - 125W norm, 250W peak power Sensitivity 90dB Frequency 60Hz-20kHz Speaker B - 80W norm, 160W peak power Sensitivity 92dB Frequency 60Hz-20kHz My amplifier is able to handle 400W per channel, so both speakers are suitable. Both speakers are the same price. Will the 2dB of sensitivity be my concern, or should I just go for the higher power one?
  16. I find that we are increasingly having more and more devices in the car. Mobile phones (sometimes got 2), GPS, in-car camera, electronic ionizers etc... The supplied 12v cigarette lighter point is just insufficient to accomodate these devices. Is there anyway I can integrate more power points in the car and where I can get this done professionally or do it myself?

  18. I am driving a Cerato Forte that comes with EPS. Each time when I make a turn, be it left, right or U turn, the steering wheel is very slow in centering itself. I have to counter steer back fast to avoid any collision. Also, when I turned my steering wheel when making a turn, the ratio that I turn my steering wheel and the ratio that my tyres turn is not consistent, it causes understeer. I got to turn my steering more in order to negotiate that turn. Is there anyway to adjust the steering ratio??? If yes, where to do it. ??? My mileage is 85k now. Any idea wat is wrong with the steering problem??? Thanks
  19. Wonder anyone heard or even using this brand of solar film (power cool) from JB. I was quoted RM 380 for doing only e front windscreen. Alternatively RM 680 for the whole car (6 wind-screen for a saloon car). As e remaining 5 wind-screen are with solar film hence to 'tear' it off before putting up e new solar film, they will charge RM 80. Any comment on what mentioned about? Thanks
  20. I noticed there are 2 different types of engine block design for E200ML : 1) One with a stainless steel bar across the engine block (printed with Mercedes) 2) The other type has NO stainless steel bar across the engine block (just the Logo close to the engine oil inlet) Anyone know the difference ? ie : Any horsepower difference ? Or one is newer than the other ?

  23. Dear friends, I am 57 years old and owning a Mitsubishi Lancer CS3 1.6L CVT engine which I bought in Jan 2006, highly tuned and has clocked only 51,000km. The mileage is very low cos it's use by my wife and I have another higher capacity car. In mid March this year when the mileage was 47,000, I got it serviced at a workshop and the boss highly recommended me OWS Uber Power NA Racing Engine Oil and told me that it is very good and suitable for all NA cars. He claimed that this oil would deliver better power and guaranteed fuel saving of 5%. Well, the printing on the engine oil metal can also stated a guaranteed 5% fuel saving. As there is no rating such as 5W-30 on the can, I asked the workshop boss about it and he told me that he doesn't know. As I have never use the above OWS engine oil before, I took his recommendation, changed the engine oil with the above OWS engine oil, flushed the engine with OWS products and changed oil filter which I paid $170.00. Prior to using this oil, I was using SpeedMaster engine oil and KF Massimo both synthetic oil and from Japan for each service and the car was very responsive and torquey. I was achieving relatively good mileage for 50L full tank and been using BRISK Premium LGS spark plugs (the one with 4 pins) for 10,000km. While the car was on OWS Uber Power NA Racing Engine Oil, I already felt that the engine sounds hollow and I thought that it could be due to certain admixtures of the oil. About a month ago, I noticed that I was getting at least 15% less mileage for 50L full tank and the engine sounds rather harsh as compared to before. Last week, I brought the car to a mechanic friend who owns a motor repair and servicing workshop and told him the above problems. From mid March 2011 till last week which is 5 months, the car only clocked 4,000km using OWS Uber Power NA Racing Engine Oil and I already encountered the above problems. My mechanic friend initially thought that it could be the sparks plugs. He took them out and found that the plugs are still in good condition. He checked all the engine parts and found nothing wrong and even jacked up my car to check on any engine oil leak but found none. He then asked me what engine oil I used and I told him OWS Uber Power NA Racing Engine Oil. He straight away told me that the oil is not suitable for all cars as there is no rating at all. While at his workshop, I got the engine oil changed to FK Massimo. My car is now much lighter, more responsive at pick up and over-taking, engine is quite, smooth and beginning to achieve the mileage that I used to get before using OWS Uber Power NA Racing Engine Oil. As OWS manufacturer has printed on the engine oil can guaranteeing 5% saving in fuel consumption but I was getting worse mileage, I wrote to the manufacturer but they have yet to reply to me. I have just written to OWS Singapore distributor and requested his reply on the problems that I encountered. For those of you who are using or have used OWS Uber Power NA Racing Engine Oil, may I have your feedback on this oil. Thanks. Mike
  24. Was introduced to this product called "Atom Power - World's Fuel Saving Enzymatic Agent" by Power-Z and its promise the following: a. Increase in engine power b. Increase Mileage c. Excellent Cold Engine Start-off d. Removes Carbon Deposits e. Fuel Injection Cleaning, and f. Reduces Smoke Emission This product is from Korea and its come in a box of 2 bottles. Paid $50/- per box and as claimed, special introduction prices. 25. Hi, just like to check if this is normal for those driving car with electric power steering My ride is Kia Cerato Forte EX 1.6A 2009 and it comes with electric power steering. Whenever i make a right or left turn at a junction, I have to turn my steering wheel half a round or maybe slightly more before I can negotiate the turn and into the correct lane. If i didnt turn half a round, it causes oversteer. Is this common??? Coz I dun think so I encounter this whne driving car with hydraulic steering, which is not as light as the electric one. Or maybe I'm not getting use to electric power steering....
