  1. I have a problem and I hope I can have some advise from you. 1. When I let go of my gas at around 70 - 80 km/h (at my 4th gear), my car would vibrate a few times and then stop. Sometimes it is ok, sometimes it is not. 2. Also after my recent servicing, my mechanic helps me to tune my idling speed. Initially, my idling speed will drop once the aircon is switched on (to around 800). Now, my idling speed will increase when the aircon is switched on (from 800 to 1000 rpm). My mechanic says this should be a proper behaviour of a car. Is this true? I have a gut feel that problem 1 is linked to problem 2. I am driving a Mazda 121. Please help! Thanks a million!
  2. My 11 year old Toyota Corolla has a soft propellor like sound. At first I thought air con problem, but no air-con also got sound. My car now sounds like a taxi when stopped, except a bit softer! Also got vibration problem... Any bro' here with any ideas what is wrong?
  3. The problem with the CVT is: shuddering of the CVT belt when moving off at full throttle from a stop. The belt slips, basically. If you like to sprint, my suggestion is to get a manual. I have a friend driving ES who has replaced 3 CVTs already. I also suggest you visit SHC and do a search on CVT in the ES folder. It's been discussed there many times.. post your questions there as there are at least 20 people there who can help you with your queries
  4. Hi, I am new here...need some advice from brothers here. I own a 10 year olf Toyota CD. I like this car very much...but I have a sligth problem with it. Everytime when I start the car..it shake very badly...even when I stop ata traffic light. I asked my mechanic..he told me it is due to carbrator... Can any bro here advice what should I do..or any recommendation of mechanic that I can get a second opinion? Thanks
  5. Bro, can anyony help me? Face problem in cranking(No power/ No feeling) the car after a distance drive. Need to wait for a while then can crank. Everytime happen went engine is hot. Try changing the battery but no use. Thanks in advance
  6. Hey Guys .... I need your help and advice. My Peugeot driveshaft is nearing its end ..... there is the usual click clack sound when I pull into reverse parking. I am thinking of having it replaced. However, I need to drive to KL tonight. Do you think its ok ? Just dun wanna suffer drive shaft failure on the North South Highway. What do you think ..... can I drive up or should I just take a flight ?? I prefer to drive if possible. Wont' be speeding - just around 130 kph max .....
  7. Hi, my family car is an old honda civic. A while ago we were told the carburator(dun know how to spell) was going to spoil already but we didn't pay too much attention to it since we were gonna get a new car anyway. But recently, the car kept stalling and is very jerky.......... I suppose its the carb giving problem but the mechanic actually told my dad that there weren't anymore new carb for my dad's car model....... We aren't interested to get a new one as well cos we are more interested to spend that money on a new car so anyone here can give any advice? Heard that it might be the "butterfly" in the carb giving problem or the nozzle that spray fuel is stuck. Any other recommendations esp to mechanics who can handle this prob?
  8. Hi all, I am new here, so please pardon me if I am asking ignorant questions. I just came back home in my 92 charade and I experience a funny problem with my car again today . Recently I sent my car to workshop for servicing. After that, my car sometimes (2-3 times a week) experience the below: Symptoms: 1. when car is moving or idling, the rpm meter from time to time jerks up and down. and when it reaches 0, the engine stalled. 2. when the above happens half of the time I will see the temp. meter rises from 30% to 75% very rapidly (in 2-3 seconds) 3. at that moment I will normally panick and switch off the air con. this helps to bring the temp. down a bit. but a few times I have to immediately search for a safe spot to switch off the engine (since the temp. indicate max) Very stressed... dunno why the above happens. Any comments?
  9. I had EGR problem in the past.. and it happens every 1-2 month or so. The engine light come on, and I checked the ECU codes and it'll always say EGR solenoid and valve problem. Then the light will stay off.. However, this time I was driving on when the check engine light comes on... Suddenly, I feel a surge of power!!! Its like added 20 lbs of torque! Definitely on the lower RPM. EGR = Engine Gas Recirculation.. It'll recirculate some exhausts back into the intake for environmental purposes... I guess the EGR malfunctioned on the close position.. now no exhaust gas is going back to the intake, and wow.. More power for me!
  10. Hi Guys I have a new VW Beetle 1.6. Car generates lots of wind noise at highway speeds. Car & Cars have tried to realign the doors and this helps a little but I am still not very satisfied. Any ideas as to how I can eliminate wind noise in a Beetle? Any aftermarket door/window seals that I can try?
