  1. Caltex reduce pump price by 2cents today from 11:30am.
  2. Oh Man...Nymex now at US$79. Better top up your tank if it is already less than half.

  4. WoooHooo Had a dillemma of either fixing my own steering pump or buying new pump or looking for recon pump. It was leaking oil. C&C which is a lousy AD had no parts available nor the exploded drawings of the pump internals. So much hype being a useless AD. They told me to buy a whole set instead. Recon pumps were difficult to source. And scrapyard $$ aren't cheap either. So I had no other choice but to DIY. Managed to get parts from local suppliers, no thanks to AD of course. So guys with leaking pumps can PM me if you need help.

  6. crude oil has dropped US15 and our pump price steady bom pee pee only drop 4c if so, next time when the crude rises US15, who can we as consumers turn to, to ask to protect our rights, that the pump price will also only rise by 4c?
  7. for example, if i have 2 swimming pools, i need to transfer the water from pool A to B. i will need to have a water pump which can suck up the water from pool A and deposit back to pool B at the same. Restriction: no external power socket will be available so the portable water pump would probably needs to have self generating power supply or the ability to connect to a independent power generator. does anyone have lobang for such water pump? would require it to be compact and portable. thanks.
  8. as above would be interesting to know which would model would benefit most. comparison either the most litres or most mileage up to 3/4 been pumping jb for this 2 weeks cos of work and the feeling of $0.80 petrol is damn shiok
  9. Hi I'm a bit confused on this area... If there is a label on the tyre that says max pressure is 350, so my setting on the air pump is not more than this. But the label found on the car (driver side) states a different measurement like 2.1 or 4.2kgf something? This means what?
  10. Good Day to all mycarforum forumers, Last night (approximately 1020hrs), I was at ESSO petrol station beside Serangoon JC, I used pump 6 to re-fuel Synergy 5000. As usual, I ensured that the rubber cover of the pump had fully covered the mouth of my fuel tank, with that ensured, I began re-fueling. (I've always had the preference of re-fueling on my own instead of getting the pump attendants to help). Watching the pump meter ticking towards 29-30 litres, I knew that the tank was about close to full, so I got ready for the pump trigger to dis-engage, however, instead of the usual 'tick' that we would hear or see, a gush of petrol came splashing out of my fuel tank, very quickly, I grabbed the pump's trigger and dis-engaged it. The side of my car was all splashed with petrol, my shoes were caught slightly in the 'action', lucky thing I didn't have the pump set to max speed for pumping, if not I'm sure even my clothes would have been caught in the 'action. The next thing I did very immediately was to close my fuel tank and poured water over the petrol contaminated areas of my car to clean it up for fear of it causing damage to my paintwork. I told the pump attendant of what I encountered and told him that this should be reflected to his supervisor ASAP, firstly its dangerous to users of the pump and dangerous to themsleves, secondly, its costly to us customers. I also told him that of course, I'm not expecting any discounts from this incident. I'm not posting this as a complaint, but more of a 'heads-up pre-cautionary' to you guys..I'm sure many of us have taken the auto stop function for granted. I can think of 2 possible reasons that might have caused this to happen: 1) I did not insert the nozzle into my fuel tank fully 2) Did not ensure that the rubber cover has covered my fuel tank mouth proper 3) The small vacuum pipe inside of the nozzle was faulty In any case, I hope that you guys will take alittle more caution when re-fueling after reading this.
  11. Crude Oil went up over USD8.00 per barrel in the last 10 trading days. An increase of ABOUT 12% DO expect pump prices to go up. Not by 12% of course ..... maybe 6 cents per litre or 3+%.
  12. Anyone got any idea how the old air pump work? The one with the analog dial that makes the "ding, ding" sound that go faster and slower for dunno what reason. Seems like keep pumping till no more "ding, ding" but pump just now the "dings" never seems to get slower, maybe pump spoilt. Advice from all.

  14. Would like to share what had happened to my ride recently. My car is about 1 yr 2 months+ and mileage around 45k+ km. I started to notice strange noise coming from the driver's side of my car, not knowing what's the problem, I continue to drive for about 3 days before sending in for check up. The service crew told me its the hydraulic pump leaked after checking. He said most likely its the hose broke and resulting in empty reservior. Subsequently, he said this is due to wear and tear problem and hence the dealer is not covering this damage as part of the warranty. The pump, if failed and need to change will cost estimate $800+. i would like to ask if anyone have encountered a leaking hose in your ride which will damage the hydraulic pump and not covered by the warranty. Do note that my last servicing is a major one at 40k and is it a routine not to check tell tale sign of a leaking hose?
  15. i think this time round incease by 5 cents..... Shell price board
  16. Lately the Customs at causeway and 2nd Link checking on Singapore cars with 3/4 mark tank. Yes is a law been passed but I find that its has taken away our rights. All because of lost of reveune but if Malaysia can sell cheap petrol, why can't us ? Competition man....... Don't aways use the law to nail us, fair competition we want to see......
  17. Understand the promo ended on 30 Nov 09, is there any extension for those who pump today and yesterday ?
  18. Was passing by a MSCP washing bay when i saw someone spraying his car with a hose. So i thought since when got hose provided one and slowed down for a look. So he had sort of a portable water pump with inlet pipe inside a pail of water and was spraying his car using the outlet hose (sort of like those gardeners use with a wide spray of water). Where to buy something like that? Great for washing the roof then dont need to take the whole pail and splash on top of the roof.
  19. Once again, crude oil price shooting up. The recent price increment is strong, despite the fluctuations of the USD. Last increase only last week, but possibility of another increase (should be about 7-8 cents) may be as early as today. It is not a matter of why, but when.

  21. As above, do you change it together when doing timing belt change? SORRY IT IS TIMING BELT AND TENSIONER NOT FUEL PUMP
  22. Alamak , my malaysia friend just sent me this photo while her father is at the petrol station few days ago. I think this owner has kind of over-doing it and there is a possibility that he will damage the rear suspension in long run.
  23. As of now, the prices of crude oil has shot up to US$71/barrel (data from bloomberg.com) If it continues to hold around this price, we can all expect an increase of 6 cents / liter by tomorrow or even tonight. Please dun forget our oil cartels only have 24hrs tolerance for any rise in crude prices! Mai tu liao! GO PUMP!
  24. SINGAPORE: Prices at the fuel pumps have come down on Wednesday, just a day after it went up. ExxonMobil is the latest to lower prices, with all grades of petrol and diesel going down by 2 cents a litre from 5.30pm. Caltex, which led the increase on Tuesday, also reduced prices across the board at 4.30pm, in response to what it calls, "competitive local conditions". Pump prices are now down by 2 cents a litre, after going up 5 cents on Tuesday. The latest adjustment followed a move by Shell. Shell raised its prices by 2 cents a litre at 2.30pm on Wednesday after choosing to stay on the sidelines on Tuesday. 95 grade fuel now costs S$1.847 a litre, 98 grade fuel costs S$1.98 a litre, while diesel costs S$1.323. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1000997/1/.html
