  11. ...but pls get new trunks...the color too loud nia... Too skimpy for the beach? -- PHOTO: THE NEW PAPER / HEDY KHOO Too skimpy for the beach? -- PHOTO: THE NEW PAPER / HEDY KHOO INAPPROPRIATE. That was what 54-year-old retiree Pang Buck Seng was told of his neon green swimming trunks by two NParks officers. The New Paper reported on Monday that the incident took place on Feb 17 at about 3pm. Mr Pang, a retired fisherman, had gone to the beach near the former Big Splash to swim and get a tan. He was walking towards the water when he was stopped by two NParks officers, both women, at a boat storage area. 'They were very rude,' Mr Pang told TNP. 'One of them pointed at my swimming trunks and said 'cannot wear like that, wear proper swimming trunks'.' The regular beachgoer, who goes to suntan and swim at the beach almost daily, said he tried to explain that he was properly attired in beachwear and they were 'not underwear'. 'My swimming trunks are decent. It doesn't even have a G-string back,' he maintained. 'It's ridiculous. This is the beach. Obviously I'm not going to be wearing my swimming trunks to parks like the Botanical Gardens,' added Mr Pang. But officers insisted his trunks were improper. Mr Pang, exasperated, called the police. Police confirmed that the report had been made. 'I didn't break any law, I was not indecently exposing myself,' he insisted. Mr Pang said he would always wear Bermudas and a polo t-shirt when walking from his Marine Drive home to the beach. An NParks spokesman, responding to TNP, confirmed that Mr Pang was indeed advised by its officers to be dressed more decently, but said the incident was sparked off by harassment of one of its officers. NParks too has lodged a police report and is seeking legal advice. An NParks spokesman said swimming attire is acceptable at their beach parks and that the case was 'more than a case of appropriate swimwear at beach parks.' 'There are grounds to believe that our female officer has been harassed by the park user.'
  12. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin.../410356/1/.html SINGAPORE: Pump prices in Singapore have gone down for a second day in a row. But this time, only diesel and higher grades of petrol are affected. Shell was the first to revise prices downwards by 4 cents for its 98-grade petrol, V-Power and diesel at 3pm on Friday. Caltex, Esso and SPC followed suit shortly after. Pump prices for diesel and all grades of petrol dipped by 3 cents on Thursday. Dono what are they trying to proof now, encourage user to pump higher grade fuel now?

  14. having this prob since Wed. Tried 2 different pumps and multiple times. My rear tyre everytime connects the air pump to the nozzle, it has the air leak sound. N the pressure keeps falling. now its below 100 PSI alreadi I dun think i see any visible cause of any leakage externally ie no nail or wat. I've tried moving arnd the nozzle but it doesnt help. Is the nozzle spoilt (one way valve system spoilt?) ? Is it a simple problem to fix?
  15. How come pump price go up just like that? What's he excuse now? ? increased first by petrol company to anticipate potential increased in price over the few years PUMP prices rose on Thursday for the second time this year after six months of price reductions. 16. heard that CNG cars still need to consume petrol about 1L to 2L per day. Is that true? got a friend who's thinking of switching. Any CNG bros care to shed some light. The CNG cab and the cabby says he needs $5 of petrol a day. If that is so it works out to be at least $100 on petrol for normal users even if they switch to CNG which imo makes the conversion less effective.
  17. Hey all, My ride comes with stock 205/55/16R Yoko A-drive tyres. Took a look at the sticker by the side of the door and realized that it was for 15" tyres with recommended pressure of 210kPa for both front and rear. Any idea what kind of pressure should I be pumping for my 16" tyres? I noticed that at the side of the tyre, it states max pressure is 300kpa / 144psi.
