  6. Hi guys, I have lost touch with the market for quite sometime. Last time I remember buying a new or used car is quite straight forward. Car price equals to import tax, ARF, COE and some kuni kuching fees. Now, with the introduction of CEVS, 50% loan 5 years loan period, it got a little messy. So, if any bros or sis here know of the guideline for new and old car. How CEVS work for old and new car? How loan structure works for old car since some cars may not have 5 years left? For example, I wish to purchase a 3 year old car, I can loan only 2 years, up to the 5th year of the car age, is this true? I will also have to down 50% of the sales price of the second hand car, true? Pls correct me if I'm wrong. I couldn't seems to find the info off MAS and onemotoring website.
  7. Hi Bros Anyone know where to purchase e clips for fuel pump? Regards
  8. http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_825964.html The National Parks Board's controversial purchase of 26 foldable Brompton bikes had been brought to the attention of graft investigators, the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau. In response to queries, the Ministry of National Development told The Straits Times on Wednesday afternoon: 'MND confirms that it has reported the matter to the CPIB.' Earlier, on Tuesday night, the ministry said it had suspended its assistant director of the Park Connector Network, Mr Bernard Lim, from duty. It also said that its minister, Mr Khaw Boon Wan, had told a ministry internal audit team to work with NParks to review the purchase of the bicycles last month.

  13. Whats the different from buying car insurance thru agent and self purchasing it ? More discount ? 14. Hi folks, Never bought a car that is been STA graded. The purpose is to set my personal expectation (drawing from fellow bros' experience) when shopping for a 2nd hand car which I most likely to look for STA graded car. For those who have ever bought a STA graded vehicle, mind sharing with me on how soon the car encounter it's 1st repair (exclude routine servicing & wear& tear like brake pad/tyres &etc). STA Grade (e.g. A or B): Brand/Model: How old was the car when you bought it (e.g. 3 years old) How soon do you need repair after you purchased the car: Area of repair (e.g. aircon compressor, gearbox & etc): By the way, who will bear the cost of STA inspection (buyer or seller) ? And any idea how much ? Lastly, assuming 2nd car dealer absorb the STA inspection charges, should I walk off from the deal (due to the result), do I have to bear the inspection fees as well ? What's the normal practice like ? Many thanks for your input in advance.

  20. Hi Everyone Looking to purchase a car soon. Dealer has requested to make the Chq deposit out to him. Which I am uncomfortable with as he could run away with the $$. He finally agreed to have the Chq made out to his company, however this incident has made my antennas cautious. How should I still ensure that after giving the Chq deposit, it wouldnt be a fraud case? What kinda paper work I should look out for? This is a consignment car and the hand over date is approx 2 weeks later. Any old timers can share how you guys approach such deals? Usually I buy from reputable large org hence less skeptical. Thank you in advance....
  21. Wenzhou investors create Singapore property purchase boom http://www.wantchinatimes.com/news-print-c...mp;MainCatID=11 Staff Reporter 2011-11-02 11:36 (GMT+8) Attracted to Singapore's progressive investment environment which boasts high returns and low borrowing rates, Chinese citizens have quickly become the largest property investors in the Southeast Asian country, with several buyers from Wenzhou making quick buys. According to the Wenzhou Economic Daily, tourists from the city in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang have been purchasing property during their trips to Singapore this year. Amey, a Chinese immigrant from Wenzhou who helped broker several deals compared the manner of her compatriots to people buying cabbages at a market. Amey moved to Singapore nearly a decade ago where she now owns a trading company. The recent buying phenomenon has also turned her into a part-time real estate agent. In addition to buyers who initially came to Singapore on their holidays, people from Wenzhou have been calling Amey every few days enquiring about properties to purchase since last year. After helping sell 10 properties worth a total of 100 million yuan (US$15.7 million) this year, Amey can now negotiate a better price for her countrymen. Buyers from Wenzhou, according to Sandy, a sales manager for Chinese customers at the Far East Organization, Singapore's largest private property developer, are very straightforward and make decisions quickly, with some of them placing orders after just a few phone calls. Hu Jianke, who is from a Wenzhou-based property agency, said it is not surprising that Singapore has become a popular location for property investors because of its political stability, strong currency and reputation for being a garden city. Even though Singapore has seen the most active property investments among Southeast Asian countries, experts said it is actually a fairly stable market and investors should not expect massive profit growth from real estate there. Hu Jianke concurred that Singapore was more suitable for immigration investors than for speculators seeking a quick profit as the local market was not prone to fluctuations. With this in mind, Hu said Wenzhou investors should consider the purpose of their investments rather than merely jumping on the bandwagon by entering the market. Copyright
