  1. What are the pros and cons of installing an open pod on a AUTO car? where are the gains coming from?
  2. switching from iphone to android and there are some parental control i need to put in the phone: 1. block download of apps - for iphone, you need an accounts that also link to your credit card info, so every time you want to DL an app, they ask for ID and password. 2. filter and block unwanted website. How to do the above on android phone? Thanks!!
  3. hi guys, its time for me to send in my ride for inspection. I have a few not so legal mods but i will be changing them out 1) my rims and tyres are 100% fail, so i'll be swapping them back to the original stock rims and tyres. But prior to changing, i swapped out the tyres from my old rim, so now on my old rim, the wheel is not balanced. I intend to just swap out the rims and tyres and just drive down to the inspection centre with unbalanced rims for inspection. Will this be a problem? ie they check whether rims/tyres are balanced? 2) My ride came STOCK ORIGINAL with projector head lamps that have a manual adjustor. I upgraded them to after market HID bulbs with the ballast hidden. My friend said that since my car came stock with projector lamps, its alright as the HID glare is much more controlled and wont anyhow blind people on the road. 3) I have a manual boost controller under the hood. will this one kenna? 4) my ride is a G plate, so will they be more strict? Which inspection centre would you guys recommend? This is a new ride. my previous ride was totally stock, so inspection was never a problem. Thanks in advance guys. Cheers!

  5. Is it possible to buy a season parking disc for a location that you do not live. The SPT of One North is making a killing! It is a whopping 90 bucks a month and I don't even live there. I have considered Transitlink's Park and Ride scheme. Was thinking of parking at the designated Ghim Moh carpark and taking the free shuttle bus to One North. I'm just wondering if it is possible to just buy the SPT of P&R which costs only 30 bucks. I don't want the EZLink card which is of no use to me at $40 and it lasts only a month and deducts adult fare. Furthermore, you it cannot be revalued. Another way is to give my wife the P&R EZLink card while I use the P&R SPT . P&R is also damn leychey. Read what I found at Transitlink's website:
  6. Sorry if I sound like a complete newbie (I am one!) ... 1. Will I need to call and make an appointment before visiting a ICE installer? 2. Can the installation (if any) be done on the same day, or do I have to make another trip down on a separate day? 3. Are there any newbie-friendly shops bros can recommend? I have phobia about visiting audio shops because I am a newbie ... Thanks ...
  7. Dear Experts here, I have 2 questions hopefully someone can help clarify. Say as our tyre size gets smaller due to wear and tear : 1. 10. I like the Mark X but have not bought parallel imported cars before. How does buying such parallel imported cars work: 1. Do they come with 3 year warranty too? If so, who honours the warranty? Would the authorised agent recognise it? 2. Where do such cars go for 10km/ 20km etc checks? 3. If I get into any accident, is it true that the parts would be hard to obtain because the authorised dealers will not have them? And I probably need to wait for a few months for the parts to be sent to S'pore? 4. Would a parallel imported car be harder to resell? Why? 5. Is my insurance different if my car is parallel imported?

  13. http://www.straitstimes.com/GeneralElectio...ory_664767.html PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong was bombarded with thousands of questions during his online chat with netizens on the People's Action Party's (PAP) Facebook page on Wednesday night. Most of them raised hot-button issues that have been cropping up on different platforms and at political rallies in the past week. These include the influx of foreign talent, cost of living and rising housing and transport costs. The Facebook chat with PM Lee started at 8pm but hundreds of questions and comments, with some pledging support for the PAP and expressing words of encouragement for the Prime Minister, had started pouring in much earlier. Within four minutes after PM started the chat, more than 200 questions and comments had flooded the page. Responding to a question from Visakan Veerasamy who had asked if it was morally justified for public transport companies to make hundreds of millions in profits from commuters and if some of this could be passed on to the poor to pay for their bus fares, Mr Lee replied: 'We put billions of dollars in govt money to help subsidise the tunnels, trains and bus interchanges. I think that's morally justified, don't u think so?' He also sought to assuage concerns over the influx of foreign talent. 'We are not planning to make a 6+ million population. Not trying to get there. Don't worry,' replied the PM to a netizen.

  20. Hi all bros/sis, Not sure if this is the right place to ask the following, but I have some questions on DG products before making purchases as I went through the website ( http://www.maddetailer.com/products.php?ca...owel/-Wash-mitt ) and seen quite a few which I am wondering which to pick. Between: Furry Microfibre Cloth and Plushy Microfibre Cloth What is the difference between the 2, it did state that one is both side plushy with suede trimming and the other is extremely soft and plushy, with silk lining on the edge, to me, I can't tell which is better and for what use. Then there is the: Wash Mitt and Duragloss Wash Mitten Can't tell whats the difference between both either and which to get for washing of car. Then there is also the: Wax Applicator Can this item be used for cleaning of lubricants used for claying? or is it better to use either Furry or Plushy Microfibre cloth? Lets say I need the following: 2 cloth for wiping off clay lubricant after claying : (which cloth should I get?) 2 cloth for wiping off wax after it drys/cure : (I think this is more like buffing? Which cloth should I get?) Hope bros/sis can enlighten me on the above. Thanks
  21. Hi Guys and Gals, I've been planning to change my tyres and rims soon. I'm really really new to this and would like to ask your advise on this matter. I've been doing some homework and have searched here a bit too. I'm about to decide on Hankook Evo V12 tyres already but still not settled yet. I heard from my good buddy Aceofproz that these tyres are good and should go for it. I'm hoping to get some feedback about this tyre from here if possible. Rims wise, not so sure where to go yet. Reading from some threads here, so far Ar**w tyres and S*H bros are recommended. Is there any other shops I can look further as well? What are the things you're to look for before deciding on rims? I really hope to get some good advise as I really know nuts abt tyres or rims. Thank you guys and gals in advance. Cheers.

  23. Hi all, Its interesting to keep reading on as you guys share info. I am picking up on the go as I read on. So a big thanks in advance and especially to Ken4555, Furrynadz, Yuan and Trex101 for helping me out when I first posted in this forum. One of the questions I have now (believe me, I have more in my mind then this haha) is that being said that I am collecting my new vehicle - Honda Jazz 1.3(A)LX soon, it means that I have to do run-ins like everyone else. I read that it is recommended that for the first 500 to 1000km, short trips of less than 15minutes is best. But in my daily travel, I estimate that I will be: Starting at Sengkang, go down all the way to Novena to drop my partner off, then proceed to Clementi. So this entire trip will be way beyond 15 minutes. So should I take such daily trips right from the start? Or make my partner wait while I run-in short trips till after 500km or after 1000km before I start sending her down in long trips? Cause I am really worried that if the 15minute short trip is really crucial, running such long distance trip from the start will not do well for my run-in thus resulting in less lifespan for the vehicle. Please enlighten me with what you think? Pretty troubled here Another question is, for tyre pressure, what do you guys use to check it? How is it done, pardon me as I am still in the midst of reading up articles in car bible and other websites, so will be some time before I know even the basics. But am trying my best =)
  24. If you have sex with a prostitute against her will, is it considered rape or shoplifting? Can you cry under water? How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered? Why do you have to 'put your two cents in'... but it's only a 'penny for your thoughts'? Where's that extra penny going to? Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity? Why does a round pizza come in a square box? What disease did cured ham actually have? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage? Why is it that people say they 'slept like a baby' when babies wake up like every two hours? If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing? Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV? Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground? Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway... Why is 'bra' singular and 'panties' plural? Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat? If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him? If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat? Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs! If Wile E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME crap, why didn't he just buy dinner? If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from? If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons? Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune? Why did you just try singing the two songs above? Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt? Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride, he sticks his head out the window? Why, Why, Why Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting dead? Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they know there is not enough money? Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet? Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection? Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him? Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'? If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes? Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white? Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale? Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized? Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance? Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try? How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures? When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, 'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?' Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over? In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat? How come you never hear father-in-law jokes? And my FAVORITE........ The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons are suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
