sorry guys was searching for some post but turn out none question just wanna know if buying 2nd hand car especially if the car is suspiciously less than 2 years on the road, what is the tell tale sign that the car have been a total loss in an accident but some workshop bought them from insurance and repair it as though it was new and put it on sale? the popular reason some dealers gave that because the previous owner cannot pay the installment, thus kena repossess i know some new cars have been involve in terrible accident where the insurance company deem that it was a total loss but some workshop will buy the car instead of sending to scrap.

Hi all, YES I can post a new thread finally I have some questions relating to the Superb, hope to get some advice here: Seatbelt warning - When I turn the key, the diagnostic shows the seatbelt sign, then turns off. But when I drives off and at speed without the seatbelt on, should there by some warning sound or signal to remind me? Mine don't, not sure whether this is normal. Power window - If I lock the power window at driver's side (by pressing the window lock button), the passenger windows should be "locked" and can't be open except from driver's side. Is this true? For my ride, both the back windows can't open but the front passenger side still can open leh even with the window lock engaged. Is this normal? Please enlighten me !! I have been told by AD that this is normal.

I need to seek out a few questions.. 1) Whats the cheapest HU that has - Steering Wheel Remote Control - MP3 Playback 2) Is there any HU that has those computer type of 3.5mm Audio Jack? Those I can plug in my earpiece to listen.. 3) Export sets are not covered with warranty right? A very very newbie to ICE. Hope you guys can 'tahan' me.. Hahaha..

Hi ppl... Got a question which i hope u can help me with... Situation is Person A has a company and a commercial van registered under his name. Due to the fact tat he doesnt always use his van, he decided to rent out his vehicle to Person B at a certain price per month. Question is wat must Person A do in order for the insurance to cover Person B as from now Person B will be the one mostly driving the van? Sorry for the long question bros... CHEERS!!!

Are driveshafts/ CV joints things that will wear out eventually even when the boots & grease around the bearing are intact? Or do they only break down when the boots are torn and the grease thrown out while sand & dirt gets in? If it is the latter, would it be prudent to replace those boots & grease while they are still intact when the car is say 4.5 y.o. and 100K km on the odo?

I am thinking of changing my ride soon and I am contemplating between Camry 'G' and Mark X. On one hand, I want a sporty ride like the Mark X but being a family man, I need ample boot space to store 2 prams and a weekend's worth of NTUC shopping bags. I heard that Mark X has limited boot space. Is this true? Any family drivers here with Mark X?? Hope to hear opinions from bros here ... thanks.

Am thinking of swithing my enitre detailing kit to duragloss, hope you guyz can enlighten me here, 1. which polish should I choose between #101 and #111 and #105? If I wan to use a DA to remove moderate swirls and sratches, will the duragloss polish be abrasive enough to remove the imperfections? 2. is the Detail Spray #921 neccessary if I were to get the Aquawax #951? I know #921 has cleaning agents in it, but will it remove the waxes I applied? 3. Does PBA #601 works the same as Polycharger? SO for FULL DURAGLOSS Package I should get the following? Duragloss Car Wash Concentrate #901 Duragloss Clear Coat Polish (CCP) #111 or Duragloss Polish & Cleaner (PC) #101 or Total Performance Polish (TPP) #105 Duragloss Polish Bonding Agent (PBA) #601 Duragloss Fast Clean & Shine Detail Spray #921 Duragloss Aquawax (AW) #951 Anymore items I should get? let's base on a 3 lane road. Car A is directly infront of Car B on the most left lane aka 3rd lane and a taxi had stopped infront to drop a passenger causing long queue on lane 3. Car A and Car B decided to switch to lane 2 and they ON their right signal while waiting for lane 2 to clear before proceed.both cars know each other are going to switch to lane 2. obviously Car B who is behind will normally be able to switch to lane 2 earlier than Car A. so the questions are: 1)If you are Car A will you wait for Car B to go first before turning into lane 2? 2)If you are Car B,will you turn out first but let Car A proceed infront of you? 3)If both cars don't want to give way causing an accident hitting Car A's right side and Car B's front left side,who will be at fault?

Anybody know is there any Liteace club or something similar? Cuz I have a few questions.. I post it here to see anybody can help.. 1) A kinda loud noise (sound like old motocycle) is heard from exhaust area whenever I step on the throttle during acceleration. But no such noise while crusing (light throttle). - Exhaust system leakage? 2) Whenever I change gear especially from 3rd to 4th or 5th to 4th there will be a sound similar to door sqeaking.. Will stop when I clutch out all the way.. - Heard its somekind of fan belt problem? 3) On aircon while cold start engine definitely got loud high pitch squeaking sound - Fan belt? 4) 45L per top up, 600KM for that ampount of petrol.. 13.3KM/L. Is it normal? Previous Hiace was getting at least 14 to 15KM/L..

driving a 1.6L 2 years+ manual car, there are some 'abnormal phenomenon', 1. up-slop overtakeing, from 5th gear down to 4th gear, I can't feel obviously power increase even if alreadi floored accelerator , have to down to 3rd gear, do you guys have this experience? 2. shift 1st gear to 2nd gear or 2nd gear to 3rd gear, clutch got vibration while half connection to full connection, is it possible clutch plate wear out or spring too weak? hopefully you guys know what i'm saying thanks a lot[flowerface]

Hows the car like? i know its cute and looks like a bubble, but seems to be quite cheap and mivec engine too. any known problems? CVT issues? C&C attitude? how is the fuel consumption? saw some on the road with sun roof, looks quite nice!

1. If i drive to Msia, can i use the OPC during peak hours without the coupon? eg sat use in Msia at 11am? 2. For those PH that are in lieu, for example, 2 Jan 07 which is in lieu of hari raya, can OPCs be used?

my car is over 3.5 yrs liao. Since i see no point in sending back to Komoco for servicing, I sent it outside in sin ming aread to do it, about $100+ only, much lesser, worth it. They charge $88 for servicing. My questions are: 1) when they said normal servicing, what does it include? 2) Other than engine oil, will they top up the power steering fluid, brake fluid, coolant, wiper washer fluid etc? Seems like not, looks like I have to top up myself. Since Im a nerd in car, my question is it ok to just look at manual, buy the relevant liquids and pour in? 3) They din mention that my tyres need to be changed or not, so I guess not, my question is its been 3.5 yrs liao, will the typres be ok? How long can be use them. The threads seem ok to me. Thanks a lot if someone can ans my queries.

Something like mosquito tone? 2) What is the squeaky sound made by, as in when people shift their gears. Installed CAI alumininum tube behind the foglamp and the opening is placed sideways. would like to ask a few questions wrt driving in the rain. 1) noticed that there were some water droplets at the opening of the CAI tube just now after driving in the rain. will the water droplets get sucked into the air box and subsequently, into the engine, thereby causing damage? 2) i noe tat driving in flood, water will enter the tube. so if u r caught in a flood or ponding while driving, how? thanks for the advice.

Question 1: If a HU has 3 preouts ie Front, Rear and Sub then if i want to hook up as follows: the front speakers to 2 channels of a 4 channel amp the rear speakers to 2 channels of a 4 channel amp the sub to a monoblock (ie got 1 4ch amp and 1 monoblock) assuming i want to be able to: fade from front to rear balance left and right control the sub independently how many rca cables do i need? 3 right? Question 2: Also some HU say that the preout is Front, Rear/Sub Switchable. (technically only 2 preout rite??) What does this Rear/Sub Switchable mean? Does is mean that i will NOT be able to do one of the following: a)fade from front to rear b)balance left and right c)control the sub independently if so which one? thanks all. Cheers

Dear all Just managed to get my hands on an orbital buffer. Had 2 pcs of terry cloth wraps and a wool wrap that came with the buffer. Question: Which do I use for the application of polish? I think it's the terry cloth right? Then the wool mint wrap for polishing? If the wax I'm using doesn't say it's ok for orbital, can I still use machine to apply and then buff to shine? Got a question to ask regarding change of timing belt and related parts, is it ok to bring the car for a long drive 1-2 days after changing the belt, pump etc? Cuz I will be driving up to KL on Friday and after that to Fraser's hill, then back to Singapore mid next week. Any problems with maintaining a moderate speed of 110-130km/h in the N-S h'way? Help appreciated, cheers

1. Can we mix and match different HU and speakers? I am having a Sony HU (52W x 4) - 5700, I think?, can I put like Alpine speakers or must it be a Sony? 2. I am looking for speakers with good voice reproduction (radio), for classical music. Not the strong bass type. I am driving a JDM G9 corolla. Any recommendations? Which are the reasonable models to look out for? Price < $500 enough? 3. Do I need to change all 4 speakers or just 2 front ones to get reasonable quality? 4. Do I need to get a pair of tweeters? What is the use?

Hi to all, Knowing that the above mods are great for most, if not for most manuals. But recently i`ve been told by a mech that as for the exhaust, theres two types such as first is a free flow & another is with a `S` patterned flow within the muffler itself. The free flow is for high end performance wherelse the `S` is like not so much on the highs but good low ends( both patterns with header, downpipe, cat...modded ). Wondering anyone heard about this before? Thanks in advance!
