  1. maybe have like 5 classes of driving license. class 3E - 100hp and below class 3D - 160hp and below class 3C - 220hp and below class 3B - 300hp and below class 3A - above 300hp class 3E,D and C can hold their license for unlimited period (like current cl3) class A, B, C, D have to go for annual advance driving test, to ensure they can handle their cars. class 3B and 3A have to pay maybe $1000/yr for this license, and face heavy fine and jail term if they are involved in serious accidents, and also license ban for 6mths 1yr etc...if caught racing or recklessly speeding or DUI, should be banned 3 years etc.. for me, power comes with responsibility. and like police, garmen...this power must be used appropriately, and not excessively. this power is not to be abused to show off to others to see who is boss, who is king of the road. for those who choose to kill themselves speeding and racing in their wrexes and evos etc.....go ahead...the roads are better without you.
  2. Was travelling along CTE near yio chu kang exit when i notice from afar 3 cars approaching from a distance of 200m real fast. I kept to the centre lane. Within 4 seconds 2 civics past by me and their engines were really loud and sounded rather powerful. The 3rd car is a suzuki swift and was the slowest among the lot but i believe its at least 140km/h for the last while the first 2 civics were around 180km/h. The aftermath were a few kiddies who tried to catch up with them or seize the opportunity to speed. I wonder whether the police could catch up with them if they were to notice this action. Cheers!
  3. This wheel cap tyre valve nut is larger than usual. What are the benefits and why are racing nuts so big in size?
  4. 2 days ago I was driving along CTE towards AMK AVe 3. I filtered to the middle lane as I was going to exit at Ave 3 abt 3km away. Suddenly I saw bright HID light from nowhere appeared behind me, an old COE car Corolla filtered to the first lane zooming with full engine screaming and turbo spunning away giving me a fright, followed by another zooming fury 3 dr COE car Civic hatchback, also with HID and turbo zooming like hell tailgating the corolla so very closely. And the next blink of an eye, they were gone. They must be spining beyond 150km/h. A few secs later, My wife shouted, 'hey something happened! accident!! accident!' I didn't see anything. But cars in front began to brake and I have to quickly swerve to the first lane. When I move up front, all I can see is that Corolla on the road shoulder, had crashed its back on the railings of the left most lane, facing almost perpendicular to the road. According to my wife, she saw the car trying to slide and the next thing he ended on the other side of the road. This guy must have tried to do 'gey kiang' do athe initial D power slide and lost control of his car! Luckily it did not cause any accidents with other car. Otherwise it would be real messy. [shakehead] I did not see the Civic until I exited to Ave 3, I saw the Civic also at the exit right next to me... Can see the plate clearly SBV6*8*. Its a yellow color car with blue decals over it. What they did was absolutely dangerous and both deserved to be

  8. where to buy this rim in 17"?
  9. OK this thread to remind all illegal street racing is bad. (mai delete hor) Johor Baru North traffic police chief Inspector Bakri Zainal Abidin said 34 people were detained for illegal racing, including two civil servants and two students. More than 400 cars and 150 motorcycles, including some with Singapore registration plates, were impounded. The weekly races offered winners lucrative cash prizes and the promise of sexual favours from young women. The races have attracted hundreds of people, participants and spectators, mostly youths, over the past three months. Minutes before police moved in yesterday, spectators who had parked their vehicles by the roadside were cheering as the motorcycles and cars lined up. With engines revving and horns blaring, everyone was anticipating the race
  10. Anyone knows how much a set of Volk Racing wheels cost? I'm looking at staggered set up 18" 8J front and 18" 8.5J rear. Would like to get the weight as well. Currently comparing between Volks Racing series (more on those 6 spoke... looks like Hamann PG2 and HM2) and BBS RS GT Thanks.
  11. I was getting loads of clutch slippage on my stock S15 clutch and it sure needed a change. So I started to look for a new one to replace it. So many choices out there - stock, Exeddy, Project-Mu, Ogura, etc. I came across a readily available Ogura Twin Plate Clutch. Many people told me that the twin plate would be a total hell to drive with and that a single plate was all that I needed. Well, we all know how hard racing clutches can be, even being very heavy to drive with. Against all my friends and other mechanics' advices, I went ahead with an Ogura Twin Plate Racing Clutch. Here are some pictures of what it looks like. Responsiveness The response time to the engagement is almost not noticeable as compared to standard clutches. Even when I caught in a severe jam, heat was not a problem as the plates had grooves designed to channel loads of heat away from the clutch disc. Performance It starts off very smoothly at 2,000rpm and is a breeze when it comes to changing gears. On Sunday, I tried it out for the first time at Geylang Patah's drift track. Going into the first left hand corner, I was going in at around 70kmh on 3rd gear at approximately 3,900rpm. I clutched in, held the rev at around 5,500rpm and dumped the clutch while twitching the car to the left to initiate heavy over-steer. On the instant of the clutch dump, the tail of the car began to swing out beautifully with sheer precision. In the past, I was not very sure on how the stock clutch would do the same job and give me the same feedback that I needed in a drift. Conclusion I'm totally happy with my Ogura Twin Plate. It's an easy to drive with kind of clutch while still providing the bite that is required. The multiple plates allow for a very smooth progressive engagement of the clutch as compared to single plates, which in turn is less likely to damage the drive-train with sudden jolts. Clutch plate replacement is also very affordable, plus the twin plates last longer than a single plate. You can find out more about it at:- http://www.oguraclutch.co.jp/orc/orc_ex~2plate.html The translated page is here

  16. just read an article in Hotstuff on 2 new engine oils which OWS has brought into the local market. 1 is for NA and the other for TC rides. it costs $130 for 4L for the TC version and i think the NA one costs about $100 i quite trust OWS stuff but the article explained that the viscosity is not shown on the oil packaging because OWS is afraid people of copying or abusing its grade. i'm entirely convinced if this is true (sounds like bullsh*t to me ) anyway, has anyone tried the oil? any comments on the technical specs if someone has it? for some reason, the OWS website is grossly outdated... it doesn't have the racing oils nor the stainless steel filter which OWS offers here
  17. trying damn hard to get second hand but nobody selling now sigh is it possible to buy new anywhere? tried the usual culprits at leong seng.. etc..
  18. guys, i'm sure many of you have been to PG or even Sepang for track sessions. Was wondering what the prerequisites are, do we need special equipment, special skills etc ? can we just turn up and pay and start driving ? Also what if we cannot drive fast due to no experience or no skill or car is just a normal stock family car ? Will we be bullied or seen as road hogging ? Lastly, what is the damage to the car like, will it cause a lot of damage to engine, transmission, suspension tyres brakes etc etc ? Do we have to be prepared to change these ?
  19. Not me inside , i din know they dun even bother to mask their plates http://www.youtube.com/w/not-so-fast?v=aSsw9EC-MGE
  20. I saw a programme call "Street Racing" on Discovery Ch the other day. They talked abt street racing in various countries. The one that caught my eye was the Drifting Street Racing in Japan. Though it was was a short section but damn solid to see real cars drifting in the streets & mountainous roads. Very exciting.... I ever heard some ppl doing it in Singapore at a secret location.
