  2. As reported in today New paper : S'pore-plate car racing in JB flips over, slam into motorcyclist. Racing recklessly in the wee hours of the morning was how three drivers allegedly got their kicks. But on Sunday morning, their greed for speed killed one innocent motorcyclist in Johor Baru. One of the three Singapore-registered cars hit a road divider and the driver lost control of the vehicle. His car, a red Toyota Vios, flipped over and crashed into the back of a motorcyclist, killing him instantly. China Press reported that the incident took place around 2.15am, just 3km from the immigration checkpoint. The dead man, Mr Li Ming Hui, 29, a Malaysian software engineer, was on his way home from work in Singapore when the incident happened. The car driver and his two female passengers, all in their 20s, survived the accident. The driver had a broken arm, while one of the women sustained broken bones in her hand. The distraught family said they hoped police would investigate Mr. Li's death thoroughly. Said Mr Li's sister: "My brother did nothing wrong. He was just waiting for the light to turn green." Another young, inexperience and reckless driver.........

  9. Hi guys, me thinking of getting one of the TV game console (xbox360 or PS3) and probably a racing wheel for playing car games? Any good recommendations for: -console? (prob not wii cos the graphics is so-so.) -brand of steering wheel to buy? (Guess there is only 2 choices either Microsoft or Logitech?) -and lastly the better racing games (PG4 or Forza or ...)? Which is more realistic in the game play? Thanks.

  15. http://motoring.asiaone.com/Motoring/News/...0712-18106.html Coming soon: S'pore's 1st motorcross and racing track Good news for motorcross and racing enthusiasts! They will soon have a track to enjoy the sport - right in Singapore. The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) recently awarded a 25,000 sq metre site to Lam Chee Development Pte Ltd a plot to develop into a motorcross training and racing track. The state land at Tuas West Drive is the size of about 3 football fields, and is located next to Tuas Bus Terminal. "This is the first time state land has been awarded for motorcross activities. Currently, two-wheeler motorcross enthusiasts have to travel overseas to enjoy the sport. This is also the first time that Lam Chee is venturing into the motorcross business", says SLA in a statement today. Although the tenancy is up to December 2009, Lam Chee has committed to invest at least $250,000. Construction work began in June and it is expected to be ready by early 2008. It will feature a race track, spectator stand with a capacity of 100, a car park for 60 lots, a cafeteria and some retail shops. Lam Chee hopes to attract mainly local racing enthusiasts for motorcross activities on both two-wheel and four-wheel vehicles. It is also negotiating for tie-ups with private motor clubs and associations. "In selecting the winning bid, SLA considered among other factors, the tendered price, concepts, proposed uses, track record and financial health of the bidders," says the SLA statement. Of the 2 bids received, Lam Chee submitted the higher bid of $8,521 per month, about 13.6% more than the guide rent." Lam Chee's Director, Mr Oh Keh Yew William, sees a huge potential in the motorcross industry. He said: "In recent years, there has been a growing number of racing enthusiasts in Singapore. This is evident by the strong turnout of competitors and spectators at our Kallang carpark races. "However, they want much more. They travel regularly to the Pasir Gudang racetrack in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to sharpen their skills and test the performance of their vehicles. So we thought, why not have our very own racetrack in Singapore? Racing enthusiasts can indulge in this extreme activity without leaving the country. We will provide an ideal place for our riders and drivers to practise their skills safely." Mr Oh believes that with Singapore's recent successful bid of the Formula One race, there will be positive interest generated for motor sports in Singapore. Besides marketing efforts to generate greater public awareness and interest in the sport, Lam Chee is also mindful of the noise impact on the environment. The company will engage specialists to manage noise and traffic conditions so as to minimise any adverse impact. On offering the first State land for motorcross uses, SLA's Director of Land Operations, Mr Simon Ong said: "This site at Tuas West Drive is a very good location for motorsports as it is away from the city and will minimize the noise and dust dis-amenities to surrounding land users. "Previously, there was no dedicated venue for motorcross activities and enthusiasts held their races in adhoc venues such as Turf City, Lim Chu Kang, Punggol and the area behind Orchard Cineleisure. With the development of Tuas West Drive, there is now a designated venue for motorsports. This is also in line with optimising land use for the Tuas area for community and recreational use, while further development plans are being made for the site."
  16. Just wanna to vent my anger at the black Hyundai getz with white racing strips across the car along AMK Ave 1 (Caltex)...dun think ur car looks fast, u can ignore other road users on the road. U at petrol station should wait for the traffic to clear before u turned out. I have alr friendly honked at u a few times, but U still turned out and nearly causing a accident with my vehicle and the vehicle on the 2nd lane. Just to let u know that, I have a niece and my wife in the car. My e-brake to prevent the accident cause my niece to hit her head at the door panel as she's sitting near it. If u wanna to act hero that ur car is fast... u think twice before u do it in SG.
  17. Was leaving Parkway Parade this evening with my 8 mths old baby in toll and my wife. As I left my parking lot, I was driving behind a white Tuscani with loud bodykit. As he drove past me when I was exiting my parking lot, he has a GF who stared at my bonnet scoop. I was wondering what's wrong with that.. hmmm As I was driving down each level behind him, he gunned at every straights. Hmmmm petrol so expensive.. why like dat? Anyway, when we exited to the main road, our dear friend put the pedal to the metal, cut to extreme right, then abrupt left causing another car to jam brake, unto the roundabout at Amber Road. Unfortunately, I took the same way and ended up behind him exiting to the ECP towards Changi (note: all these while, I drove at my own speed). I filtered out and he ended up behind me. Once again, he has to make sure he gunned past me and drove like a maniac cutiing two lanes onto the extreme right. I am not here to search for him but just thinking, what's there to prove? TC big deal ah? Stop racing in the world where only u r in it. I did not race ya. I am sure my marque will be a worthy opponent but I ain't gonna waste my petrol. Increased 2 cents siongz lar.....Since I paying 2 cents more, this is my 2 cents worth. *yawn*
  18. anyone saw 2 cars ( 1 camry, 1 civic ) racing down AYE towards jurong at around 1020pm tonight? i was entering AYE from alexandra when i see 2 cars from side mirror zoomed past me. speed was excess of 140km/h with moderate traffic. the camry was in front and gotta do e-brake when he has a car in front obstructing his way. the civic tailgating him switch from lane 1 to lane 4 after which the camry follow suit zigzagging through the traffic. i saw all this 'action' behind. these 2 drivers ought to be . knn, endangering lives of other road users. 7th month here already, they wanna join in the fun issit?
  19. my 1st post on the complaint folder however, this guy is [thumbsdown]in his SIR was on time off today, so i drove my auntie to have her specs adjusted and len made. used ECP to send her back to place at Siglap after the speed camera before Fort Road there was a Audi A4 in front of me, and a taxi in front of the A4 the 3 of us, were happy to cruise along at about 100km/h. abt one car length between each car. at this point there was no traffic behind me too. then before Marine Parade, the A4, filter off towards the next exit, which means i just go ahead to close the gap he left behind. looked behind, there are this SIR closing in fairly fast well since there is no way i can go faster. i just stay in lane at the mentioned speed. chatting with my auntie, then suddenly there was a horn blasting from somewhere. my auntie and i go wondering who's horning at who.. cos the traffic seems all ok. i too looked around and observed no one doing anything Stupid or Silly or Dumb... or so i thought. ignoring that as a mistake, we continue talking about my cousin upcoming wedding and moving along still behind the taxi at about 100+km/h then the horn came on again. this time more 'violent' i realised it then, it was from the SIR. was quite confused and rather pissed... horn for @#$%@# ? wat he wants me to do? bang the taxi in front of me and we can drive on the expressway at 200km/h? or he wants me to filter off so that i can make way for his speeding expeditions? should i? why should i? i was contemplating to stay where i am just to piss him off nonetheless with my aunties wisdom, i did move over to the left (mind you, it was not easy as Lane 2 was full of cars too) when he was along side me, i look at him... wat a Beng with spec! PUI!!! and if u are reading this, take this too KID, if u wanna drive fast, and cannot find your way thru slower traffic that's your problem! and that becasue this is a public highway, not some race track. so sod off back to your PSP or XBox
  20. Was at Sepang last weekened for JGTC and to watch Formula Renault V6, and Formula BMW... I must say this newly formed racing team, a joint venture between Singapore and Malaysia, is doing REALLY well, unlike the political failure of the A1 Singapore team... Drivers include former A1GP Hafiz Koh who is a Singaporean and another Indian National, who is high on the rankings list and came in first, TWICE, at Sepang. Lets egg them on! Hopefully this continues to grow..hehe http://www.xxxxxxx.com/news/news.php?view=1&newsid=561 http://www.xxxxxxx.com/news/news.php?view=1&newsid=560

  22. I came across some good reviews about these on the net. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=18051278 http://features.evolutionm.net/article.php?id=84 Are they available in Singapore?
  23. Stopped beside this 12 yr old 3700cc Porsche 911 Carrera RS at a trafic light junction. We were first in line. I then inched forward to peep into his interior. The owner thought I wanted to race him & inched forward. I inched forward more to look at his cool interior again. Then the lights turned green and he blasted off and I lost sight of him round within 10 seconds around the bend. I was sure to lose him anyway, as I simply accelerated lesuirely, rpm not exceeding 2000rpm. Petrol is too expensive for these unofficial street races. Notice how bright the HID lights of the car behind the Porsche is? Guess what car it is? It's a WRX (latest model), but whether it is a WRX STi, I could not tell. The WRX driver was apparently trying to see if his almost new 2500cc WRX could catch up with the 3700cc 12 yr old Porsche. The WRX lost hands down. The 911 was way too fast for the WRX! What an interesting & eventful night!
  24. Was on my way for a appointment today at 3 plus pm along ECP towards tuas, not much cars on the road. Was going around 110km per hour on the right lane, from my rear view mirror realised a Silverarrow Skoda Cab coming onto me very fast! Before I can signal to keep left, super bloody fast cab overtook me from my left and guess what, a BMW 3 series was tailing his bumper! Dont even have time to catch if Cab got fare inside or not!!!!! That's how fast!! Crazy cab driver! Endanger his rice bowl! Think he should change his superb to extreme taxi!
  25. this is my car in indo. modified for daily use only. please feel free to comment. thxxxx
