  1. Hi, Will be getting a new set of types soon, so would like to get some recommendation on the tyres brand and model. BTW my car would be N16. rims is nissan sport rim, size is 14". Thank you.
  2. Dear All, I would be expecting the delivery of my new car soon and would like to ask the Bros here for their recommendation for light-weight sports rims as my car, Hyundai Sonata's kerb weight is on the heavy side . Hopefully by reducing the unstrung weight, I would be able to increase the fuel economy. Basically, I have 2 options now... Either to request the SE to change to sports rims before taking delivery of the car or to drive the car straight to the workshop to change the sports rims. Therefore, now I would need to decide on the rims first before deciding which options is cheaper or more convenient loh.... My stock tires are Kumho 769 POWERMAX with the following specs : P205/65R15. Since there are so many choices around, I have short-listed 2 of my fav designs (attached below), ROH Blade and OZ Vela, but I am not sure they are light-weight a not? Hopefully there are other brands out there with similar design & light-weight too...
  3. Hi Guys, I have been offered the following 17-inch rims for consideration for a turbo car:- Enkei Bortex (dark brown, multi-spoke, i feel it's abit old fashion) Lowenhardt (silver, but i think the design is more suitable aesthetically for saloons) The indicative price is around $2100 before discount. Are there better alternatives within the same price range??...... which shops should i go to for comparison of other better buy??........ i am not 'hardcore' for ultra light weight, i am looking for normal light wieght, sturdy, easy to wash, sproty looking designs......... Your advice will be most appreciated. Many thanks
  4. I need recommendation on lowering spring. currently have some brand in mind after calling the various mod shop. (1) merwede $280 (2) terra $280 (3) voltland $350 (4) tanabe $450( model should be DF210) Anyone of you use the above spring b4? can command on them? I am more bias towards comfort than hardcore performance(super hard type)
  5. which workshop offer cheap and value servicing packages? Using mineral and synthetic oil? Thanks
  6. Hi, I accidentally whack my left rear bumper against a pillar whilst reversing. Now it has a dent with paint marks on it. I would like to know where can I get the rear bumper repaired at a reasonable price. By the way, my car is a Octavia 1.6i Ambiente sliver.
  7. After visiting a workshop recommended by my friend, here's the things that I need to replace. - Lower suspension arm bushing ($200) ... causing the cluck sound - Dunno what pump bearing ($80) ... he pointed and show me the thing below the alternator ... - Failing engine mount ... not a problem yet, but he forsee in the future it'll start to crack soon, as it already "sunk".... For the above, I think it's quite ex, since he replace the whole item. For the bushing .. I think just replace the bushing is enough rather than the whole arm rite ? For bearing, do I have to replace the whole device again ? Any good workshop where they can replace just the failed item to recommedn ? Thanks :-)
  8. Thinking of Aspec dB, but a bit weak ... Any other recommendation ?
  9. Hi all in MCF, This is my first post in the forum although I've been following the postings for a few months now. Pardon me for the long lo so message as I need some advise from the audio gurus out there. I have just bought a pre-owned car done-up (halfway??) with a Blaupunkt Casablanca CD50 HU with 6" Boston components in front, 5.25" CDT Classic component for rear and a Soundstream free-air sub (10"?) in the boot. These are all powered by a Sony (last generation model) 6-CH amp. The SQ is not as good yet as the bass seems to be stronger in the rear, with the front lacking some refinement in high frequency. One reason could be the tweeter for the front component is mounted on the door, covered by the speaker grille. From my previous car, I've the following items taken out: a. Sony CDX-7800V MP3/VCD/CDR HU b. Lanzar Vibe 410 4-ch amp c. Sony XM-222 2-ch amp d. 1 pair of CDT 5.25" Classic component e. 1 pair of AD 6" component f. Bazooka 8" basstube (EL series) passive My main question is whether I should invest in a 10-disc changer for my Casablanca CD50, since this HU is quite high-end as well, and the SQ is good when its kicking. Anyone have any lobang in installers with good knowledge and pricing for the Blaupunkt product. My main objective is to have as little modification on the setup which will translate to more cost effective. Once this has been done, I'm looking into selling some of the above items, as I will not have use for them. Appreciate your advise on any good installers, and probably some comments on the ideal setup. Also, pls feel free to email me should you be interested in buying any of the above items, which are all in v.good condition. Or perhaps, I will post in a new thread officially later next week after I sort out my ICE setup. cheers !
  10. Hi! My factory fitted car remote from Skoda spoilt a 3rd time. No matter how I press the remote key, the car door won't unlock. Now using my spare. This is the 3rd change JTA had done for me and I am thinking going 3rd party. Anyone can recommend me a good and reliable place?
