I've read from onemotoring, when OPC COE expire, it has to renew COE at normal car plate price but still remain OPC. After renew COE at normal price, isnt it more worth it to convert back to black plate car? The road tax rebate does not worth the cost of normal price coe.

Hi Brothers, Need some advise and help. My current road tax expires on 29 Dec 2010. Next road tax expires 29 Dec 2011. Current insurance expires 30 Mar 2011 due to me being a second owner. LTA has said I will not be able to renew my road tax unless the car insurance is extended to 29 Dec 2011. However my current insurer Chartis (AIG) said they do not extend insurance more than 6 months. What are my options now? -
In a couple of years my car would be 10 years. Currently very low mileage. Was wondering whether it is more economical to renew COE than to buy a 2nd hand car, assuming the price of Cat B COE then is around current prices. The 2nd hand car would cost about $70K (5 years old), which means i can drive another 5 years or should i renew COE at around $40k but can drive 10 years. thanks

Sianz....... My car's COE is going to expire in Aug 2012. Looking at the rate its rising I won't be able to afford to renew the COE when it expires..... I am not some rich guy, just a poor peasant who trying to fulfill a dream that started almost 20yrs ago..... :( Now, I am thinking how I can keep my celica when the COE expires.... Options: 1. Scrap car and the end.... 2. Take loan for COE.... Option 3: Fight it out with anyone who try to tow my car away to scrap it. I will probably kill someone and scentenced to death and end of my life.... Looks like I have just 2yrs to live...... :(

My car's insurace will be expired early next month but so far I've not received the motor insurance renew notice. I'm with MSIG - maybe they dont want my business! If you're also using them, when you nomrally receive the renew notice? How about other insurers? Can bros here share when you normally recevied yours? P.S. agents don't bother to contact me as I already have a few agent friends.

Last year I got insurance for my 1 year old car, cost me <$500 (50% NCD). This year I ask them how much to renew, they charge me $2000 to renew (50% NCD). Same car, same NCD, no claims or accidents, 1 year older, 4X the premium. Is this happening to all the insurance companies, or isolated case only for this company? Btw, this is a Malaysian insurance company. Time to switch.....

hi guys, was thinking of getting a 2nd hand goods van like say kangoo, doblo etc but saw most of them around yr 2002, 2003, which means left 2-3 yrs b4 COE expire and dat make the depreciation higher. is it possible to bid for a COE cat C by myself 1st b4 i buy the van, and if i manage to get the COE cat C say at good price of below say 5k, then i use COE on a 2nd hand van which i will buy later? or this concept is totally worng. need advice...

Hi to all my fellow MCFers, my contract with StarHub is over, I am paying $174 per month for my broadband and 6 basic group of cable TV. Now I am wondering if I should RENEW or go to Mio. My DAD watches EPL, my 3 children watches discovery and the cartoon channels. What do you think? My current package is Expensive? Please advice, thanks!

Hi Guys/Gals, My friend who is a Malaysian need to renew the passport. Any one know whether can my friend do it over at the Malaysia Embassy? If my friend is to go back to Malaysia to do it, it will take one whole day to do it. And maybe another day to collect it. Checked the website for information, but they provide nothing but an email. I really don't wish to email them as you know, it may takes a decade for them to reply a simple email. Thanks!

When I bought new car last year, premium was around $1400. Today I just received the renewal notice with a 10% NCD! Yeah! but the premium is now $1564 after the discount! what the hell!!! i need better quotes.. where to get? pls provide lobang..

Which shield U take. I w ntuc incomeshield w no ncd n some more want to increase the premium oso ask to upgrade n again more premium wtf. think of change policy. ntuc so ppl here do u take ntuc or aia, ge etc... Hi All, My Car insurance (Latio sedan, off-peak) is going to expired soon. Currently is AIG. But i heard that NTUC is so much cheaper. Should I renew with AIG? or go for NTUC or others? I read that NTUC really difficult to claim? anyone has good experience with NTUC before? Hope you guys here can guide me. thanks

bought opc 2nd hand last July, then bought insurance till July this year. The road tax is due on Mar 2008, i am not able to renew online coz no/insufficient insurance coverage. In that case, i need to buy another year insurance in advance?
