Hi all, Just want to check something. Im insured under India International Insurance Pte Ltd and Im due for renewal next month. Gotten some quotes from other companies which ranges from 1.3-1.6k.. However, III is going to reinsure me at 900 plus... Im curious about the difference (not that i mind, really)... how come they can offer me such rate; a diff of at least $400??

I wonder is it necessary for us to disclose our claim amount both (own repair cost and 3rd party repair cost) to a new insurance co. if we want to sign up with them rather that continuing with our present one. I thought if they are not able to find out on they own. I think one will be really folish for us to disclose to them. Any advice?

need to go for car inspection for the 1st time before the road tax can be renewed, need to check if after passing the inspection, do we need to produce the inspection cert. physically at those centres listed for road tax renewal, or LTA will know we had gone thru the inspection, so can just pay online, thru AXS or singpost like before for cars under 3 years? thinking of doing both at one go if need to produce the inspection cert. and insurance under the 'messeges for your attention'.

Hi all i need advice on Car insurance. Thanks Mine insurance will expire end of Dec Last yr I was paying $1737 with AIG 2nd year after 10% NCD ,AIG give a quotation of $1746 (excess $500) I feel that it is still very expensive Age : 30 Year of driving experience : 6 year Year of owning car: 1 year NCD after renewal : 10% Car: Picanto 1. There are many other less reputable car insurance charge lesser amount. Eg. EQ charge 1300++ . Why are they able to charge us lesser ?? What is the different? 2. What is the disadvantage of choosing less reputable insurance company ? 3. Is it compulsory i need to go thru agent? They charge us commission? 4. Excess $500 means accident ,the other party claim you. If repair amount is less than $500, all will be pay by me? If repair amount more than $500, i only need to pay the maximum $500 ?

Just wondering if any of the bros here are currently using EQ Insurance? The lowest quote that I currently have is from them, followed by Aunty Lucy, then followed by AXA. Let x be the quote from EQ Insurance 1. EQ - $x (Excess $500) 2. NTUC - $x + ~$200 (Excess $500) 3. AXA - $x + ~$400 (Excess $800) 4. Liberty - $x + ~$400 (Excess $600) Would also like to seek the bros opinions here on which insurance company to choose from. Just a note, EQ Insruance authorised workshops are unheard of, at least to me.

My insurance is up till early June. Just got involved in an accident and will be claiming insurance. Can I renew my insurance now with current or other insurer? I haven't receive letter from my insurer to renew my insurance. Will they factor in this claim which is not done yet on this renewal?

Hi, my motor insurance is due on next month 27th but i have yet to receive the renewal letter from my insurance AIG, is it abnormal ? Cuz my road tax is due on the same date too, need to settle my insurance before renewal of my road tax. Been asked this by someone: " Do we get any form of rebates like PARF, OMV etc & use them to offset the new COE when we decided to renew COE at the end of 10 yrs?" My take is no. We'll have to pay for the prevailing quota premium without any other rebates cos the car is not deregistered. Pls advise.

Hi fellow frens, I just received a renewal letter from NTUC @ 950 with 10% NCD. The car is registered under my MUM's name but i'm the one driving it (i'm under 26). Can i have some inputs on NTUC insurance, as in is it recommended to stay with them because i've read some unfavourable comments on NTUC. At the same time, can anyone recommend a good insurance company with reasonable premiums? Thks.

Dear All, I am currently under AXA and for my renewal, NTUC is quoting me a premium that is almost $500 lesser than AXA. In terms of excess, both policies are the same but the main difference (apart from price) is that my AXA policy is under the authorised workshop scheme whereas NTUC allows me to go to "any workshop" (under their Premium Scheme). So on paper, it seems like NTUC is a much better deal but I have some reservations in light of the recent bad press. Any advice from bros and sis out there??

Currently my road tax is ending in sept while my insurance is ending in february next year. Question is, can i renew my road tax without renewing my insurance? Or i must die die renew my insurance first? Confused about these regulations Can someone shed the light on this? Thanks for any information.

Would like to let you guys know that today is the last day to extend the coe for the commercial vehicle for only $86 for another 10 years ! For April would be $189. Cos this is based on the prevailing coe quote. Help to spread to your friends especially those ppl who dont use internet or check on the news etc. I had renewed our company's vehicle today via the net (easier and faster) but you would need to have a internet banking accounts (DBS or UOB or Citibank.

Hi guys, Insurance due for renewal next month. Received 2 quotes which I would like to use for advise AIG with $20k PA Premium - $1900 Excess - $2500 - Authorised workshop only - Car lesser than 3 yrs old can go back Agent. NTUC with $50k PA Premium - $1500 Excess - $0 - Authorised workshop via Tender - Car lesser within warranty can go back to Agent but with T&C Any rules, T&C that is pegged to AIG when going back to Agent? Read that it may be more of a hassle to claim with with NTUC. But this hassle will only be experienced when I claim against myself only right? All other scenarios is between me and 3rd party's ins coy or 3rd party with my ins coy ? If i am ready to put up with the hassle, the significant difference in excess is enough to justify to go with NTUC? Thanks for advising!
