  1. Hi all, I long wanted to change my light bulbs but once i think back how i melted the bulb socket of my dad's previous car, i hesitated. I could have burnt the whole damn car! scary! To prevent another incident of such, i decided to ask before taking any actions. My questions here are: - if i wan to change our car's headlamp, what do we have to look out for? the 55W/60W? - i am using OEM bulbs. if i change to those 4000k ones, will i melt the sockets? I know nuts abt car's electrical sys. Anyone with experience do help me with this. really hope to have brighter headlamps. d: > Thks!
  2. Running out of KAIO. Having been using it for the past year or 2. Have not been keeping up with the new paint cleaners that have been release, so I thought some of you here might be able to help. Would anyone recommend a replacement for KAIO, or should I stick to KAIO. Just want a product that cleans the paint after polishing, or something that can be used standalone before an LSP step. Would prefer non polishing type (even micro polishes). Thanks for any help you can give.
  3. On Sat, I was placing my car on the hoist at Teo Hin Tires and I was looking under the car cos the previous day at Park Mall, my car's right centre beam "sat" on the top edge of the car park for a short moment, thus I wanted to check the damage (luckily non). But I saw other stuff like some oil around my gear box. Upon closer inspection, my friend and I noted that the gasket had not been well seated when the mechanic was doing my gear box the last time around for servicing. Here's a look at the gear box after we self-disassembled the top portion of it. Inside Car Shot [inline GearBox_Top.jpg] Under Car Shot (see the black oil stains) [inline GearBox_Bottom.jpg] Look at the face of my friend after we had taken out the gasket and fabricated a new one for it (old one in his right hand with the torn top section). [inline Leonard_Frowns.jpg] Thanks to the following for having lended a hand in helping to get the gasket fix:- My good friend Leonard from Australia who helped me get the gear box shifter top opened (it takes two people to do it) My long time army friend, Vincent, for lending me the use of his hoist at Teo Hin Tires for the good part of the afternoon Ah Shiong of Imperial Powershop for having responded very willingly to help when I first called him to let him that I needed gear box oil. Patrick of Imperial Concepts for allowing me to use his gear box oil to top up the amount that had leaked out previously

  6. Hi, anyone know or seen any shops selling this Apexi drop in air filter? I read that it is a 'dry' type filter so no need to oil. Anyone here used it before?
  7. Anyone knows where to get a replacement for a cracked mirror glass for a Year 2000 VW Golf ? And price ?
  8. The outgoing 575M Maranello will be replaced by this car. It'll have an Enzo-derived 6.0litre V12 "which will eventually deliver between 590-625 bhp to the rear wheels". Looks sleek, but too much like the 4 seater 612 if u ask me. Let's hope the one that reaches production wouldn't look too much like the 612... Might I add that the rear resembles the Lexus SC430. What are the italians thinking...
  9. Hi guys, My friend's rear windshield wiper for the Toyota Picnic just kena "stunned" by some moronic idiot. Does she have to buy the replacement from Borneo Motors, or can she just buy from the usual car accessories shop (do they carry such short ones)? P.S: This is the second time I've heard of such cases... my other friend had his rear wiper stolen from his Peugeot 307SW. What kind of idiot does this kind of thing?
  10. My radiator fan motor is showing sign of "going" and would like to know how much it cost to replace a new one. My temperature gauge has been going up higher than usual occasionally and I realise that the radiator fan is somehow stuck and requires a few knocks before it will turn. Guess the motor is gone case. Advice needed. Thanks.

  12. Had been thinking of changing my stock Sunny's speaker for some time. Last week while opening up my door panel to check out the stock speakers 6.5", noticed that it is mopunted to the door by 3 screws at the 12,4 and 8 o'clock positions. I have seen pioneer speakers of the same size with 4 screw holes. Worried that if I get a set of speakers with a different position for the mounting screws, will be unable to fix it onto the door. What is the solution if I were to encounter such a problem. Maybe a very elementary question but this is my first time thinking of DIY such a thing, please enlighten me. Thanks.
  13. All Bros, Greeting, newbie in this forum. See attach photo, anyone can advise where to find the replacement ? how much ? Had tried some scrap yard/Stamford tyre/pxx xxxg, with no luck all say NO. I don't mind 2nd hand; my last last option is ordering from SM. Poor me, I lost this batch + one silver tyre nut and a new scratches in one day ! By the way, my "2nd wife" is a 2002 1.8

  16. Hi, it seems that the Nissan Latio is not a replacement for the aging Sunny as expected. Any one has any rumours on when the present Sunny will eventually be replaced? I think the Latio is like the Nissan Sunny VIP abt 5 years ago. When the new Sunny is launched eventually, the Latio's demand will slowly die off..
  17. Looks good. Hopefully the interior plastics will be better than the Gen.2
  18. Think I've posted this somewhere before... anybody knows what bulbs the fogs are using for our Octy?

  21. Here's how to do it: http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/sv40cabinfilter.htm
  22. Hi everyone, Just to let you guys posted, I have just pass my air filter element to speedworks(MR lou, i think) to actually customise it for the car(Since K&N has not come out with the product yet). He will actually cut out the paper element and fit in the K&N Filter (of another car)into the space. He was telling me if he does sell it (the customise piece) he will sell it with the condition that the buyer have to surrender the stock filter to him( one for one, lah). So if any of you guys are interested, when you go for your svcing, don't dispose the old stock filter just in case if you want to buy from him.
